Please get Lala off of my screen

I do not want to listen to Lala’s shrill voice for another season. She is not funny, she is not entertaining, she has no story line, and her entire personality is loudly stating her opinions and how much she hates men.

That’s the end of my rant for today

Pump mode recommendations

Hi all! I don’t know why it hasn’t dawned on me earlier but what modes do you usually pump on and for how long?

My wearables have 4 modes: massage, express, cluster feed, and general pumping. I’ve been starting with massage for a few minutes, then going to express mode for a few minutes, then using general pump for the remainder. I used to also stop halfway to do a few more minutes of massage and express but have not in quite some time.

What are you all doing and what do you recommend? We don’t have much resources for lactation consultants in my state so I’m just kind of winging it 😂

Places that do not yet have a RHW franchise that should

  1. Fairfield County (Connecticut): Lots of new money. Many working women in high powered positions and also many stay-at-home moms, would make for a dynamic cast. Not to mention no shortage of scandals!

  2. Marshvegas (Marshfield Massachusetts and surrounding towns) already like watching reality tv in real life! Hockey moms, lots of parties, lots of drama, love a New England Coastal town!

  3. Long Island: I absolutely loved the Princess’s of Long Island and am sad that we only got one season. If we can’t get back the princesses, I think we at least deserve housewives! Would love some over the top fashion, parties, and thick accents!

  4. The Carolinas: I know we have Southern Charm and RHOA, but would love to get some put together Southern Bells where everything looks perfect on the outside but things are not as perfect as they seem! Give me all the Serena and Lily and Lilly Pulitzer!

  5. Palm Beach County (Florida): between the snow birds vs. the year rounders, the retired vs. the working, I feel we could get some good story lines!

  6. Las Vegas: can see it being a dynamic, fun bunch

  7. Vancouver: we don’t have a Canadian franchise and need some representation!

Where do you think needs a RHW franchise and why?

Bravo fans psychic?

Going back several months ago, there was someone on TikTok, I wish I saved the video, that talked about how in all the years of Housewives, not one housewife has passed which is rare considering they’ve been on air for 20 plus years. We’ve lost bravolebrities and spouses and children of RHW but not one housewife! In the comments, people started speculating who they predicted would die first. I did not participate in the comment section because I do not like to think about that nor put that energy out there. Many people put Teddi bc of her diagnosis but what was alarming was the amount of people who also put Jeana Keough. I thought that putting Jeana was so random at the time but in light of her recent diagnosis, it got me thinking, what if people in the comment section have some type of psychic abilities? I’m so hoping that if there are mediums among us, they wrongly predicted this and rather picked up on her illness. I thought that was so strange and I just needed somewhere to share this experience though am in no way wishing or insinuating this will happen!

Is it normal to have a daily shitty session?

I’m about 2 months postpartum. I pump 7 times a day, each session 30 minutes, every 3 hours during day then two that are 4 hours apart during sleeping hours (about 2 am and 6 AM). Every mid day session I produce significantly less. Most sessions I pump 5 oz, my middle of night session and early morning session I pump about 6/7 (lol) oz, my midday one I’m pumping between 2.5 and 3.5 oz. I do have formula on hand and a freezer stash so it’s not the end of the world but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a daily shitty session or if perhaps something about my current schedule should be adjusted to increase flow? TIA!

Do bottle washers/sterilizers/dryers create wear on pump parts and bottles sooner?

It seems like everything I haven has gotten cloudy and cracked so quickly when I’m not even 2 months into my pumping journey!

I hand wash bottle and pump parts (washers felt too complicated) and use a momcozy sterilizer and dryer which has been life changing. I have motif aura glow wearables and usually use Phillip Avent glass bottles. My insurance covered my wearable pumps and I have previously purchased replacement parts so I have 2 sets. Buying 2 more sets makes me want to cry, they are so expensive.

Is it normal to need to replace pump parts and bottles this early and often? And has anyone found using sterilizers and dryers to create wear and tear sooner?

Please tell me my boobs won’t look like this forever! Need bra recommendations

Currently, they are sagging down to my belly button and are 2 different sizes. Looks like uppercase and lowercase U’s 😭😂 and ruins any outfit/ any chance to look cute. Any recommendations for bras that are wearable pump friendly and also can lift the girls would be greatly appreciated!

Missing sessions

Are there any circumstances where you allow yourself to miss or space out sessions for your wellbeing?

I’m probably far too early to be doing this (6 weeks postpartum) but I pumped every 2 hours the first 3 weeks or so but found between feeding baby, putting him down to pump, then washing all the parts, there was absolutely no time between pump and feeding sessions. I’ve spaced out to every 3 hours and it’s seemed way better. I’ve accidentally slept through my alarm at night the last 2 weeks and am getting about 6-7 pumps sessions in a 24 hour period and pumping anywhere between 3.5 to 8 oz. I’ve felt much better doing 2 pumps every 4 hours middle of night but worry about dropping my supply or about clogged ducts or mastitis.

I also want to feel more comfortable doing more outside the house but feel like every time I have, I’m always worrying about when I have to pump next. I use wearables and find that they are not as easy to use when I’m out in public and more is likely to go wrong (pumping less than usual, suction cups getting detached and spilling out, not being able to stick my hand down my bra to adjust the setting or make sure the milk is flowing), and just not having my washer or any where to charge the motor if I need to.

There are some circumstances where I just think I’d feel so much better if I knew I could wait it out 4, 5, even 6 hours.

Wanted to see if you ever allow yourselves to miss or space out sessions much further, when you felt comfortable doing so, and how it turned out for you?

Edit:
Thank you everyone for your responses! Just a few things I thought I’d mention:

  1. Even though my LO was not a premie, my pediatrician has recommended waiting until baby is a little older before the fridge hack. I know it is probably much easier but I feel more comfortable with waiting!
  2. I have extra pump parts and a sterilizer. Between those things and going 3 hours instead of 2, I feel that has improved my wellbeing.
  3. I’m looking specifically for advice about spacing out sessions further if I’m out and about or need extra sleep 😊

Anyone else?

Hi all! My LO (1 month) has a few bad habits- one of them is favoring turning his head to one side in the snoo despite being placed on his back. We’ve tried turning his head to the center and other side but it always finds its way back. The other thing is that we always put his arms by his side before velcroing him into his snoo sleep sack but he always seems to get his left arm out and stick his hand out the the neck hole up near his face. Has anyone else’s LO’s also done either of these things and do you have any tips?

My LO deserves better

1 month Postpartum. I am exclusively pumping because my LO was a few weeks early and struggled with latching. I wanted to supplement with formula but have been feeling intimidated about doing so because instructions are so specific and keeping up with recalls and expirations seems like more trouble than it’s worth.

Whenever my husband or someone else is with me, it’s not too bad. I want to hold my baby as much as possible but when it’s time to pump, I could pass him off to whoever is there so I could take care of that and LO could be in good hands.

When I’m home alone with him, I stay as calm and present as I can, but it is a huge struggle when he needs to be held, especially after feedings or being changed, when I’m overdue for a pump. I will hold off pumping as long as I could so I could tend to and be present with LO but I cannot let too much time pass or else my milk supply could be impacted. When I put him down, he cries nonstop and spits out his pacifier (which typically helps him soothe).

I use wearable pumps but I still find it’s impossible to hold him due to the bulkiness and also to prevent the pumps from getting unattached and losing the milk. I feel like the worst mom in the world when I have to leave him in a state where he clearly needs soothing. I worry that this could create an insecure attachment.

Additionally, I was trying to make my husband a card for Father’s Day. I was using an ink pad for his hand print and it came out bad so I tried again and accidentally put his hand on the ink side. His hand was covered in ink and I had to scramble to get things to wash it off as soon as possible. He was on his mat crying and I cracked and also started crying. I’ve always wanted to be a mom but have struggled with ADHD and have questioned whether or not I have the capacity to be a good mom and handle parenting tasks. It feels these fears are valid with finding feeding too difficult, not being able to multi task, and almost putting my child at risk due to carelessness.

I love my baby so incredibly much. I’ve always felt so badly for people who grew up with terrible parents, people who should have never went on to have children, and fear I am one of those people.

Anyone else have a slacker side?

My left breast has consistently been pumping far more than my right side since the day I gave birth! I’m almost a month postpartum and the left side is consistently pumping between 2-3 oz and the right side .25-1 oz. I don’t think the ducts are clogged because I could see the ducts releasing milk and I also don’t have pain. I’m fortunate that the left side is producing plenty but I sometimes feel salty thinking how I could be pumping 2 bottles worth every session if only my right side would catch up!

Has anyone else had a slacker side without having clogged ducts? And any way to increase supply or do we just grin and bear it?

FTM: I have so many questions!

  1. I’ve found cleaning the pump parts after every wash to be exhausting, especially since it’s every 2-3 hours. How do you all deal with this and do you ever skip cleans for your own sanity?

  2. Do you pump on a schedule or when you think you need to pump and if so, how to you know when you need to?

  3. Are there signs you’ve pumped too much, or not enough?

  4. Do you pump less frequently during sleep hours or keep with the same schedule

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated as well!!

First time expecting moms: how are we feeling about Mother’s Day acknowledgments?

It has been nice to get the acknowledgment, kind treatment, and some gifts because pregnancy is no cake walk. Even though I’m at the end of the pregnancy and baby and I have been healthy, until he’s physically here, I’m not ready to fully let my guard down and embrace it fully. I know the chances of something going wrong at this point is unlikely but part of my brain goes “what if something goes wrong and a year from now, I’m not celebrating?”

How are the rest of you first time expecting mom’s feeling about your “first Mother’s Day”?
