Best meal of my entire life and I genuinely don’t think anything will ever top it. If you ever visit Florence, this place is a must!

I’ve followed this case from the start and it feels like we only ever hear about that evil man and the horrific details of the case, not about Celeste herself.

I was wondering if anyone here knew her and would feel comfortable sharing what she was like as a person, her personality, even small things.

It would be nice to shift some of the attention back to this beautiful young girl, and to hold space to remember who she was, not just what happened to her 🤍

Hi everyone, I’m researching my maternal family who emigrated from Barcelona, Spain in 1888. I’m posting here in case anyone recognizes these names or might be related.

The earliest ancestor I have is:

Antonio Vidal

  • Born in Barcelona, Spain
  • Emigrated to New Zealand in 1888 as a young man

Known family from Barcelona:

  • Father: Lorenzo Vidal Ferre (farmer, died in Barcelona in 1914)
  • Mother: Teresa Soler
  • Siblings: Jose Vidal and Teresa Vidal

I’m hoping to connect with anyone who:

  • Recognizes the Vidal / Ferre / Soler families
  • May have these names in their family tree
  • Is from the same lineage or extended family in Barcelona
  • Has any historical or family knowledge

Any information, even small details, would be really appreciated!

Hi all, bit of a random post but I’m from New Zealand and trying to trace my mother’s family who came from Barcelona.

A relative named Antonio Vidal was born in Barcelona and emigrated to New Zealand in 1888 as a young man.

From records/family info I have, Antonio’s parents were:

  • Lorenzo Vidal Ferre (listed as a farmer, died in Barcelona in 1914)
  • Teresa Soler

He also had siblings:

  • Jose Vidal
  • Teresa Vidal

I know this is a long shot, but I’m posting here in case anyone recognises the surnames, knows if these families were connected to a certain part of Barcelona/Catalonia, or can suggest where I should search next.

I contacted archives before and was told some records from that period were lost/unavailable, so any local knowledge would be amazing.

Would love to learn anything at all about that side of the family. Thanks heaps!
