Taking Only Zofran

I need to come off 20mg Propranolol for an Echocardiogram but also I just don’t think I like it as much as I want to.

My big main issues is anxiety nausea with throat tightness and IBS-D symptoms. Of course my heart would still race a bit but my nausea would mainly worsen the panic overall.

I’ve recently got prescribed Zofran and while it doesn’t removed anxiety— my nausea is significantly reduced/gone. I’m still figuring out how beneficial it is.

What would it be like if I only took Zofran?

What Should I do Before I Consider Meds Again?

I used to take Zoloft. I quit for a few reasons: loss of motivation, fatigue and it didn’t solve intense anxiety breakthroughs (nausea). I didn’t care about the sexual side effects at the time and even though they still affect me, I’m lucky my d still works.

But it really helped in high school. I came into my personality. I could stand against bullies and didn’t fear giving it back. I could function normally. I stopped vomiting every morning before class and before every insignificant event coming up.

Recently I got diagnosed with ADHD and tried Vyvanse. It did help stop my major stream of anxious and miscellaneous, pointless thoughts. It also helped give me back my motivation but it sucked for anxiety. So I quit. Since then it’s like I’ve had an adrenaline feeling stuck in my neck and body.

I have the alternative to try Ritalin, however.

But for now I’m coping with Propranolol 30mg and a Zofran prescription. Zofran seems very nice— I’ll have to experience it more.

Propranolol is a bit wishy washy— it works great but I think I want to experience my body without it (even though I may also have POTS 🙄).

So I could:

Continue Propranolol and Zofran

Ween Off Propranolol and Stick with Zofran

Try Ritalin (and Probably Keep Propranolol for Anxiety)

Start An SSRI

Really Bad Anxiety After Quitting Stimulants

I was taking 15mg then 30mg of Vyvanse over the course of a month. I would take it on and off frequently as I was too scared to take it for work as my anxiety was that intense. It made me more anxious but it also helped my productivity immensely.

I couldn’t cope with the anxiety so I quit Vyvanse.

Since then I’ve had this adrenaline tingle in the back of my neck and body that’s just deeply intense. I can’t explain it well but the energy that Vyvanse gave me stuck around but only the anxiety part.

I had to start Propranolol as my panic attacks got worse where the adrenaline made me shaken for days after.

It’s been about a month since quitting but I don’t really want to touch ADHD meds again— even though my psych gave me a prescription for Ritalin.

Anxiety is Weird when it’s Physically Gone

I feel so mentally uncomfortable about meeting new people tonight but my Propranolol is really keeping down my adrenaline. I’m probably going to have to take a Zofran before I go and that will kick it even more! But I’m still going to feel mentally uncomfortable!!!

Does anyone else relate??

Why is my Anxiety Nausea so Intense?

(20M) I’m genuinely wondering why I suffer from really deep nausea when I’m anxious?

I do (likely) have POTS but I don’t typically experience nausea outside of anxiety or actually illness.

It feels like I’m experiencing a health issue more than an anxiety issue. It’s like my body just goes from 0 to 100 super easily.

It’s affected my weight too. I don’t typically eat before work and only snack on my lunch break. I’m underweight. Mind you, Propranolol is helping me eat more now.

Im about to trial Zofran as a take when needed sort of thing because Propranolol (30mg) helps but doesn’t calm my stomach down enough sometimes.

So whats the mechanism behind this nausea? And why can’t my body give it up sometimes? Sometimes I’m just stuck with nausea in an anxious situation with no relief— except time and distraction.

Bad Anxiety Nausea?

Especially if I’ve eaten and I’m anxious- my body wants to throw up.

I’ve gotten prescribed Zofran so I’ll see how that helps. I’m on Propranolol and that helps my anxiety quite a bit but my nausea is still bad.

Does anyone else suffer with anxiety nausea?

Experiences with Anti-Nausea Meds?

I’m on Propranolol for anxiety and while that’s great for milder anxiety- my nausea is still intense, especially after eating. (**This is not from Propranolol, I’ve had horrible nausea for years)**

It feels like I’m fighting nausea more than anxiety unfortunately.

Has prescription medication like Zofran helped you? I would just like something I can take to ease the intense nausea sometimes.

Zofran for Anxiety Nausea?

I’ve been taking Propranolol which has been great for POTS and anxiety but my anxiety nausea is still so intense.

Experiences with Zofran for anxiety nausea?

(I’m looking to take it as needed)

Zofran?

I’m not really emetophibic if I’m honest. I have anxiety about being anxious because my anxiety induces unbearable nausea and causes me to vomit occasionally.

I do not fear the act of vomiting but rather I hate the anxiety nausea that makes life unbearable.

Anyway, will using Zofran during times of Panic Attacks be beneficial? Or will it set up a bad routine? I’m only nauseous if my anxiety is bad enough but the nausea is ruining my life tbh. Propranolol helps a lot but not if I’m super anxious/just ate food.

Getting Diagnosed - But Need Propranolol

My anxiety has been insane and a solid 30mg 3x a day gets rid of a lot of my intense body anxiety. It also helps with my POTS/dystaunomia (spelling? 😭) symptoms like lethargy, dizziness and blurred vision at the end of the day.

I’ve got a cardiologist appointment coming up and I’ve heard some people say it will affect results. I’m getting an echocardiogram and maybe doing the tilt table test.
But I literally can’t function without the anxiety relief at the moment.

Will I be ok to keep taking propranolol?

Still feeling physical anxiety on Propranolol?

I’m only taking 20mg 3x a day at the moment which has been great for small anxiety triggers, but doesn’t cover super bad anxiety where it feels like I’m dying. I can’t even describe what’s happening in my body unless I’m in a panic attack but I get very uncomfortable. It has helped a lot with my anxiety nausea, however (and my undiagnosed POTS/symptoms)

I’m going to trial a higher dose and I’m wondering if that will bring relief since 40mg seems to actually be the standard dose for anxiety.

Propranolol Dose too low?

20mg Daily Propranolol has been really great at getting rid of general anxiety feeling…

But I’ve been having breakthrough panic attacks. My anxiety nausea comes back and I have an adrenaline rush feeling just slightly muted. This is while Propranolol is active (not when it’s wore off).
I’ve tried 40mg before and that was good, the only thing is I have to adjust to the dizziness and bad side effects like the 20mg.

20mg is still great, it’s just not amazing for my very intense anxiety.

I’m having intense anxiety about seeing my partner

It’s really bad. I love my partner. There’s nothing wrong in our relationship and he’s such an amazing person. But I have this extreme dread anxiety that I’m now medicating with propranolol. Propranolol has been good, albeit my dose may be too low (only on 20mg but it keeps my nausea at bay).

Ever since quitting Vyvanse I’ve had this strong adrenaline feeling when I have anxiety ruminations. It’s an intense adrenaline feeling in my neck like an allergic reaction. Propranolol takes the edge off my nausea, heart racing and general discomfort but doesn’t help physically feeling intense dread.

My only mental anxiety is that I don’t want to become a liability because of my anxiety. I don’t want to have a panic attack and ruin our little time together (long distance relationship). I don’t want a break either. I just want to enjoy my time with him but it’s like my body is associating him with panic.

I will say when I was first on Vyvanse, I had an intense panic attack around him. I was in the early days so I was trying to ride out the anxiety it gave me but I couldn’t. Maybe my body stored all that anxiety and can’t help but react.

When we are together, my anxiety eventually goes down but comes back up again :(

I’ve had enough of my anxiety and supposed ADHD and whatever other physical symptoms and issues of disorders I have.

What physical or mental issues have you cured through law of assumption and any tips?

I have to wait a few months for a cardiologist, for a POTS diagnosis, and I can’t really deal with that. I’m on propranolol for anxiety but use it to treat POTS— it doesn’t work too well.

I’ve been on Vyvanse (stimulant) and found that got rid of a lot of my POTS problems but it caused too much anxiety.
I know Midodrine is specifically for Vasoconstriction so I would like to try it but I’m desperate.

I’m taking propranolol mainly for Anxiety as it has gotten so bad after quitting stimulants.

I’ve started with 10mg Propranolol and while it somewhat helps anxiety, it’s still very intense.

However, when I take 10mg my legs don’t pool with blood and I can exercise with more energy.

But I need more Propranolol for anxiety and I find 40mg helps a lot with anxiety but worsens POTS and doesn’t help blood pooling.

I’ll have to keep experimenting with 10mg.

Can anyone else relate?

I’ve been taking it for about a week and whilst it works well it also makes me nauseous and makes me physically uncomfortable sometimes.

I’m taking it daily, 3 times a day.

Do higher doses have stronger effects on anxiety? I find 40mg makes me pretty chill but gives me bad nausea and might be too much. 10mg and 20mg makes me less anxious but my anxiety is still intense.

How much does dosing affect anxiety?

It’s only been about 4 days of consistently taking it and I just increased to 40mg yesterday because it wasn’t helping my anxiety enough.

Now when I taken it sometimes it helps my anxiety nausea, other times it gives me real nausea (not anxiety).

Will this fade as I take it? It’s kind of worse if I eat with it.
