On July 2, 2025, Clayton Kershaw became the 20th pitcher in MLB history to reach 3,000 career strikeouts. Entering the game needing just three strikeouts to hit the milestone, Kershaw fanned Vinny Capra for the final out of the sixth inning to cement his place in baseball history.
Of the 20 pitchers to record 3,000 career strikeouts, Kershaw is one of only three to tally every one of those strikeouts with a single franchise.
