I scored this CFW compatible 2501a model for $30 on Craigslist today. It boots up and seems to be working fine, but I noticed it resets the date & time every boot up.

I opened it up and found out the battery terminal is broken off the board. Anyone deal with this before? I have basic soldering skills but not sure I have an iron hot enough for this.

Should I just leave it be?

I’ve read a bit about this issue on here but wanted to see how prevalent it is and if the only fix truly is to replace the screen.

Odin 2 Pro, started giving me pretty constant ghost touch issues. I turned on touchscreen indicators from Debug settings, the white dot shows where it thinks the screen is being touched, and it almost always starts out dead center in the middle of the display.

The weird thing is the dot moves by me just flexing on the device or pressing on the back shell, and the most confusing part to me, it goes away after turning the display off/on?

I’ve tried AYN’s newest firmware (not the OTA, apparently a special build to help with these issues) and it didn’t do anything.

How many others have experienced this? Did you end up fixing it?

Game is LoZ: Oracle of Ages (GBC)

I have an Odin 2 Pro that I use nearly every day. It has been great but I’ve found myself wishing for something smaller and lighter. It also developed ghost touch issues with the display which are pretty annoying so I started eyeing replacements.

The RP6 seemed appealing but it’s not that much smaller, and the all glass front was a huge turnoff so I never pulled the trigger. Then the Nova was announced. At first I wasn’t interested because it looked kinda ‘cheap’ but all the hype posts on here are really making me reconsider it.

It seems like it’s exactly what I’m after, I almost exclusively play PS1/2 titles so the 4:3 display is great and I really like the form factor.

Talk me in/out of getting in on the pre-orders. This would be my first Retroid device after owning an Odin Lite and Odin 2.

Basically title, are the cable ends circled in red separate parts that just thread on/off or do I need to get entirely new cables?

I broke one while installing the JBR bushings by pressing them in as pictured.. they were too big.. JBR said they’d be fine.. and the other one broke while doing it.

It is what it is but now trying to fix my fuckup and just want to know if I can go pick-n-pull replacement ends by themselves.

Was about to get an RP6 after the 12GB models finally came back but now the RP6 carrying cases are sold out.

How well does the RP6 fit in the RP5 case? They’re very similar size and shape aren’t they?

Hi all, would appreciate your expert input on if anything here should be brought up and addressed before I pay in full.

It looks beautiful but I don’t know much about roofs and this is the most expensive thing I’ve done to my home so far so want to make sure I’m not missing anything.

They do need to come back and finish the ridge on the top, and are installing one more roof vent on the back left. Anything else stand out?

Every time I play FF8, I get the temptation to also revisit Parasite Eve. They share a similar graphic style and for some reason when I see one I think of the other.

Also Xenogears makes me want to play BoF4, I think that’s due to the compass and R1/L1 90° camera rotations.

Do you all have similar examples?
