Just got my first Gretsch for $180!
Howdy y’all, I just picked up this G5230T Electromatic Jet FT and thought I’d show it off! It’s quite battered but works fine and think I’ll send it off to be refurbished because in some parts it’s quite rough… but for the price I can’t exactly complain.
Thoughts?
Edit: G5435T Electromatic Pro Jet, not the G5230T Jet FT. The Seller was incorrect.
Setlist pictures *are* allowed by the way
Had a couple reported for being reposts, just wanted to put it out there and say that they are 100% allowed even if they're similar to one another and whatnot. Most posts like this have been collages anyway so no problem at all there.
Yep.
Just got my first Girard Perregaux Laureato at 17!
Howdy y'all, I've been collecting watches for a bit, but have never had a chance to own a "proper" luxury watch like this before... but after saving up for a bit I'm happy to say it's mine!
I paid roughly $800 USD for it, which is seemingly very cheap for a GP so it was a gamble to pick it up, but it's working perfectly and is great (minus scuffs and regular bracelet wear but that's to be expected). I know it's quartz, but if you're going to get a vintage quartz watch then this is definitely one of the best ones to get, as it set the standard for the beat frequency in quartz movements which is in place to this day.
I'm very happy with it and think I did pretty good! Happy to say I now own a luxury watch, What do y'all think?
Just got my first GP Laureato at 17!
I've been collecting watches for a while, but this is the first real "big" watch that I've gotten my hands on, and I absolutely love it.
Paid roughly $800 for this piece, which is quite low for a GP such as this as far as I'm aware. It's quartz, sure, but if you're going to get a vintage quartz watch this is how you do it. The watch that set the base standard for accuracy even to this day.
It's in fairly good condition, running perfectly, a little small but feels great, and I couldn't be happier. How do y'all think I did?
