Disabling SonosNet while some devices offline

For various reasons I currently have some Sonos devices powered off. I would like to disable SonosNet using the new option in the app but the app shows a warning about making sure all devices are online before proceeding.

Anyone know what happens if I proceed anyway? 😄

Hiding power cable, UK

People in the UK with a 2025 or 2026 Frame Pro (both of which come with a wireless One Connect box as I understand it) - how have you handled hiding the power cable? Especially if mounting it on a brick wall. Thanks.

Opinions on IKEA Matter bulbs

Appreciate this may be a controversial topic. I’ve been a user of Hue bulbs of various types for many years, but the IKEA Matter bulbs are clearly disruptive of Hue given their aggressive price point and relative ease of use (no Hub etc).

What are people doing at this point? Are you continuing to buy Hue for new installations, or starting to buy the IKEA bulbs instead? I’m doing some extensions and refurbishment of the house and not sure which way to go.

Recognise that the Hue bulbs are probably superior to the Ikea ones - but presumably people are tolerant of some of that given the price difference.

LG WashTower basic shortcomings

Just setup an LG WashTower and we’re struggling to comprehend what feel like basic shortcomings. It seems when selecting a programme on the machine, it’s not possible to see either what temperature that programme runs at, or how long it takes. Our last two washing machines both did that.

Using the ThinQ app is broadly similar although it does show you the temperature of the currently selected programme. But still no durations until after the programme has started. And if you want to download one of the cloud programmes it just gives you a list of programme names without information about temperature or duration.

We’re a bit shocked but it would be a real hassle to return it. My wife watched quite a few review videos of these and it didn’t seem to be something people raised, which we find surprising!

Anybody else see this as an issue or it’s just us?!?

Impact of converting to shortcut

Are there any negative consequences of converting an automation to a shortcut?

For example - does my iPhone need to be in the Home for it to execute?

Thanks.

Reassign LG appliance to other ThinQ home

Hi, I need to move my LG appliance (a washtower) from being registered under one ThinQ home to a different (new) one. Can I just remove it from one and then add to the other?

Thanks.

Matter lights in outbuilding

We’re building a garden house that is about 10 metres from the house, and planning to use the ikea matter light bulbs in it.

Is there a way of extending the thread network to the garden house? I’ll have Wi-Fi in there (via Ethernet cable from the main house) - would putting a HomePod mini there help?

Many thanks.

Express 7 bad reputation?

Got the impression this device is not well regarded here. Why is that? I just ordered one but wondering if I should have approached things differently!

Hi - my wife likes the Samsung Frames, I like the LG OLEDs, and currently have a 65” G2 and considering replacing with a G5.

Is there a way to have the G5 display artwork in the same way the Samsung Frame does when it’s off/asleep? Just a simple fixed display of an image at medium-low brightness.

Thanks!
