Flashcutter, what a G!

Kept dying to this attack, and tried this skill for the first time in this fight. Damn!!!! For someone who doesn’t want to learn reflection, lifesaver!! Automatic counter for 1 soul? Yes please!!

The shield boss.. I think this might be where I quit the game

You guys know who I’m talking about, I don’t wanna spoil it.

But basically I think this boss checks all the boxes for horrible design. I know git gud and all that. I’ve beaten all of Fromsoft games and their DLCs including sekiro, I’ve beaten Wukong LoP Wuchang, now I WAS enjoying Khazan. Some of the bosses gave me trouble with elemental damage, difficult timing, stamina regen and heal, but they are fun to learn and mastering them was amazing, and you are awarded for playing aggressively, which these games tend to do and I love that.

But now this boss… always has the shield up, if you attack the shield it’ll power up, stand too close you’ll get grabbed and that’s a crazy damage, too far and there’s long distance attacks and AoEs, oh wait there’s more now elemental damage that affects your stamina, which is the most important of the game. Oh and odd timings of attacks, sudden charges, etc. like idk feels like artificial difficulty.

I really am hitting a wall but not in a fun way, which is different from my souls/like experience. Am seriously considering dropping the game but if there is any inputs on how I can proceed I’ll try it, because honestly the bosses mechanics before this were amazing. Such a shame.

My first non-Fromsoft in a while after your recs!

Finally going to start Khazan! Nervous as my last 5 games were all Fromsoft. Any early game tips? What to expect? And what’s the argument for dual wield vs greatsword vs spear?

Need game recs

I just started playing souls/soulslike earlier this year with my introduction being BMW (idk if you guys call this soulslike, I feel like it is) and have just recently finished multiple playthroughs of all of Fromsoft masterpieces DS1-3 Sekiro Bloodbourne ER and all of the DLCs, and I still can’t get enough!!

The other soulslike I’ve played was Wuchang (thoroughly loved it!!) and LoP (finished it, parry never clicked so dodged my way through it, least favorite)

Any recs for my next game closest to these? I’ve heard of Khazan and Nioh 3 and can’t decide from watching vids of it. Or any other recs??

I did it boys!

Finally completed the soulsbourne series after starting with ER earlier this year, and had to end it with a bang!!

And as you can guess…. I can’t get enough!! Want to immediately go to NG+, level 160 and did my first run with a dex build, any fun build recs for my next playthrough? And should I even do bonfire aesthetics beforehand?

Wow, what a fight

Sir Alonne sir, take a bow!

Not news to you guys but I feel he is up there with the best bosses in the souls series, feels like a DS3 boss that snuck into this game. Fast moveset, flask is basically not an option and even life gem you have to be careful. Beautiful arena and music as well.

Being precise and disciplined is how to win, he is indeed a Samurai that teaches you this. I don’t care for the runback, definitely worth it for this fight.

Can’t decide between him or Fume Knight for the best boss in the game, what do you guys think?

Look at what I found today!

Was going through the castle and getting annoyed with the stupid statue enemy ganks and the boss from earlier was there too then I fell ofc.. and look what I found!! The coolest armorset in all of souls I’ve played (apart from bloodbourne), and there’s a hidden bonfire too! That excitement of getting the armorset from the cover of the game is just an amazing feeling.

I’m in a toxic love-hate relationship with this game, and I love it!!

Astora Greatswoard

Might be my favorite weapon in the game, so satisfying just knocking enemies down like this. Infusible as well!!

Finally going to start this

I just started playing souls games earlier this year and honestly it has been so addictive and such an amazing experience, I have clocked in around 1000+ hours of all the other fromsoft games combined with multiple playthroughs and platinums.

As you can see I have been avoiding DS2 for quite some time, as I have read such strong opinions and critiques of the game.

That said, it is unavoidable that I am going to start this game as I have exhausted a majority of the other games replays, as I have been too excessive (for example, did 5 straight DS3 plays) and would like to enjoy new games as well, and I’m sure this game is not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be (fromsoft is still behind it)

What should I expect from this game that I haven’t read anywhere? And how can I make my experience enjoyable?

Twin Princes Boss Shortcut

Soo this is my 4th playthrough and how am I just finding out now that THERE’S A SHORTCUT TO THIS BOSS?!?!?! My first playthrough took me about 15-20 attempts and I ran all the way through the grand archives (the right elevator), went up through the ladder (which I had to kick, and I thought was the shortcut), went through the barrages of enemies before I get to the boss…

For whoever that hasn’t found this out, it’s to the right before the door and it takes you to the dragonslayer bonfire.

Still finding new things on further playthroughs are such an amazing experience!

Pyromancer build optimization

Currently running a pyro build for the first time with int/faith 45/45, demon scar/onyx blade (for fire resistant enemies), and the rings/spells listed on the picture. Currently enjoying the run so far but I feel like I’m missing something for more damage during boss fights or crowd control from time to time, any further recs to make the build more OP? Stat distribution/rings/spells? Should I switch out my weapons? I like to make the most OP builds that I can (previously enjoyed my winblades run!!)

Any input is appreciated!

Invaded during a boss fight??

Did someone just invade me? AS A BOSS???? I swear the spear of church wasn’t like this on my previous playthrough. Crazy!! Can I do this as well as a player? Pretty cool!!
