Guinness Irish Meatball Stew

Husband made Guinness Irish Meatball Stew from Food & Wine, but he modified the technique to work on the Big Green Egg. So it’s Smoky Guinness Irish Meatball Stew. 10/10 husband and stew.

Piano Lessons?

Hello! Looking for suggestions for piano lessons where they come to you? I’m a total beginner and just feel like a little structure/guidance would put me on a better path. Didn’t know if anyone had worked with any teachers in the area.

TIA!

Smoky Ribollita

Smoky Ribollita with Smoked Turkey

Cooked Lima beans in some smoked turkey stock that I had - then didn’t know what to do with it.

Sweated mirepoix then added garlic, tomato paste, and Calabrian chili pepper paste. Cooked until red. Added thyme, rosemary, parsley, half my batch of smoky beans in their liquid and 2 cups water. Simmered until almost done. Added zucchini and simmered 5 min. Added remaining beans in liquid and a handful or two of smoked dark turkey meat.

Served over toasted leftover sourdough bread slices and topped with more parsley.

This was a great way to use up stuff that was taking space in my freezer: smoked turkey stock, dark smoked turkey, and sourdough bread slices.

Soup Idea for these Smoky Limas?

GUYS!

I made smoked turkey awhile back, and then I made a stock from said smoked turkey bones. It made an amazing smoky broth.

Well, I was going to cook beans as a base for dinner tonight, and I decided to use the broth.

HOLY COW!!!! It’s almost a soup already! And now I don’t want to use them in the dinner, I just want to build on this and make it into a soup.

Any ideas? I was thinking maybe a riff on this (https://www.recipetineats.com/el-bullis-bean-soup-with-picada), but wondering if there are any better directions?

Doses between 300 and 450?

I’m 45 and have been on WB off and on since I was 17. Started on a lower dose of course, but in the last 5 years went to 300xl. Well the last 1-2 years it just hasn’t been enough. I steadily got more and more depressed.

My dr put me on 450xl. And I thought life was finally amazing again! This was February. Unfortunately, in July I started realizing my resting heart rate was up. I’d be sitting there doing nothing and it would shoot to over 100. My fight or flight senses started kicking in. I started having anxiety or feeling… just rushy.

I’m so depressed bc I know I have to go back down. I’ve been back on the 300xl for about a week and those symptoms have now gone away.

How can I get a dose in between but be on xl? The sr never worked well for me and I usually also forgot to take the second dose.

Anyone else one something in between?

Preserved Lemon Cocktails

Any suggestions on cocktails that use preserved lemons? I’ve made my first batch, and I’m still trying to learn all the uses. Been focusing on food, but realized cocktails are also probably a great use! TIA!

No Dog Beach?

Curious? How do locals feel about the majority of south Brevard beaches being dog free (unless they’re service animals)?

My understanding is the rules were put in place to protect the nesting sea turtles, shore birds, and the surrounding protected dune habitat/vegetation from dangers that dogs and their waste specifically pose.

But we see locals walking their dogs daily on these beaches. Letting them waste, not picking it up, letting them dig and snoop near the nests and dunes.

Just curious what people think? I’ve only lived here for about 8 years. I feel like you’re almost forced to pick a side here: turtles or dogs. 🤷‍♀️

Classic Iowa Pork Tenderloin

Thank you to my Iowan husband who insisted on us making it 100% Iowa legit with soft white buns, mayo, pickles, and raw white onions.

I literally don’t understand why there isn’t a pork sandwich craze taking over. Or pork sandwich chains popping up.

Made it two months ago and can’t stop thinking about it. 😂🤤

PSA: I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you CAN just add chili garlic and hoisin to a can of chicken noodle soup and call it a day.

Sometimes thats all you have in you to get soup in your life - and that’s okay!
