The Steven Universe Lantern Corps (July 2026 update)
Rewriting Kung Fu Panda 3
When Kai absorbs Oogway's Chi, he warns Li Shan that Po is still alive and that Kai is returning to the mortal realm. We then get the "My son is alive!" scene at the end of Kung Fu Panda 2. The reason for this change is the plot where Po's entire purpose for being the dragon warrior was to defeat Kai makes his character growth conditioned on him rather than a conscious decisions he made.
Not only is the dumpling scene removed, but Li Shan immediately recognizes Po as his son. And every humorous interaction they have is removed, too. Everything from the Awkward silence to the Jade Palace scene is replaced with Li Shan revealing to Po that the reason for his absence was because he led the Pandas to the secret village after Shen's massacre. And the reason he didn't come for him is because he thought he died.
In the Scroll scene explaining Oogway's backstory with Kai, it was never made clear why Kai wanted to steal Chi or what he wanted to do with it. That's why in this version, we learn that Kai wanted to use the Chi to eliminate the threat that was invading their city. He and Oogway actually discussed this proposal in secret. But Oogway refused, believing there wouldn't be a city to go back to. But Oogway's certainty angered Kai, so he took it upon himself to learn the reverse Chi technique. And while Oogway banishes Kai to the Spirit Realm, the trust he built with the Pandas was already fractured. They banished Oogway from the village leaving him on a journey of self reflection. To make this scene more impactful, Oogway's journey of self reflection is eventually how Kung Fu came to be.
Kai's motivation is more clear by the time he arrives at the Jade Palace. Kai explains to Shifu and the rest of the five that he feels Oogway allowed the people of his city to die. When people look to Oogway, they're not worshipping a divine being. They're worshipping someone who had every opportunity to do what was right and chose not to take it. Kai plans to destroy Oogway's Legacy and cement himself as the true savior of China.
Kai lifts the Oogway statue hundreds of feet in the air and slams it down, obliterating the Jade Palace. You notice in the original movie, Kai just destroys some pillars and not the whole Jade Palace.
Arguably the biggest change is that after Kai steals Shifu's chi, Kai takes Tigress' Chi. Because there really doesn't seem to be an explanation as to how Kai didn't notice that Tigress was hiding. Nor does it explain how she was able to find the Panda Village. But this also leads to whether Po will find out that Kai is coming to the Panda Village. Rather than Tigress warning Po, i want Po and Li's journey in reconnecting with his roots to slowly lead toward suspicion. This eventually leads to the reveal that Li did not know the Chi Technique. Thus the montage where Po fights the Kai totem like how Tai Lung did with his many others.
Li's reconciliation with Po, while earned, feels more earned with this one change. After the fallout, Li rediscovers the Chi technique by himself. All the pandas see him mastering Chi, and eventually they decide to join in. Li stops Po from training vigorously, and gathers all the pandas revealing he mastered the Chi Technique. This new version of the montage consists of Po, Li and all the pandas mastering the Chi Technique. Rather than doing random things like in the original film. This change works because everyone is taking Kai seriously rather than inconveniencing him.
By the time Kai arrives at the Panda village, he releases literally every single person he absorbed. Both alive and dead. INCLUDING TAI LUNG. While Kai orders his Jade Zombies to attack, the pandas use their chi to restore everyone back to normal. Everyone alive gets returned back to normal, while everyone who died gets sent back to the Spirit Realm. This, in turn, weakens Kai to where he loses his stolen Chi entirely, turning him back to normal. In a final attempt to gain everyone's chi back, he circles everyone with his blades and threatens to absorb everyone. Which leads Po to do the Wuxi Finger hold on himself.
Po and Kai are trapped in the Spirit Realm, powerless, and no way to return. This also gives the opportunity to explore that Kai is still OP even without his stolen Chi. In fact, Kai makes Po shed actual blood. Which makes the scene where everyone transfers Chi to Po in the spirit realm all the more desperate. But as Po taps into his Dragon Warrior form, Kai levels up as well. As he absorbs the chi of literally everyone in the Spirit Realm turning him into a green glowing god. Every punch and kick shakes the spirit realm. But Kai eventually gains the upper hand. But like the original movie, Po outwits Kai by transferring all his Chi, overwhelming Kai, killing him.
The resolution is completely different. As all the souls of the Spirit Realm, including Oogway, circle around Po and congradulate him. But Po doesn't return to the Spirit Realm because of Oogway's staff. He returns because of Tai Lung. Tai Lung, would confess that he had time to think about the damage he caused, and accept that Po was right about true worth coming from within. So he transfers his entire lifeforce into Po so that he can return to the mortal realm. But not before whispering something to Po.
The group hug stays the same. I also want Tigress to kiss Po, not because to satisfy the fanbase, but because they had the most sense going on. Also, Po whispers Tai Lung's secret message to Shifu, causing him to cry. Basically, Tai Lung wanted Po to tell Shifu that he forgives him. But I wanted to leave it ambiguous for the sake of the story.
Everyone, including the Pandas, return to the Jade Palace seeing the remains. And this is the final scene before we get a timeskip.
The Pandas re-integrating into society stay the same. But replacing the Jade Palace are new statues of all the Kung Fu masters. Including one with Tai Lung. A new statue of Oogway is made, but below it shows information that he did, technically choose to abandon his village. Leaving readers disappointed with him. This doesn't denounce Oogway as the mythic force everyone views him as, but gives clarity. He was flawed as he was mythic. Just as Tai Lung was tragic as he was violent.
Having both the good and bad information on their gravestones also acknowledges a major issue with society. No one blindly looks up to their idols anymore now that they know both the good and bad parts of their lives. Instead they learn from their mistakes and become better people because of them.
While the Jade Palace is still destroyed, I still think it makes sense for Po to govern the Valley of Peace alongside the Furious Five. I also want Po and Tigress to get married, too, just because. As for Li and Ping, they not only renovated the restaurant, but greatly expanded it for everyone. They even made sure that Po could stand up this time whenever he decides to visit.
A teaser for Kung Fu Panda 4 happens in the mid-credits scene. And, yes, the Chameleon will once again be the main villain of the story. But know that this version of Kung Fu Panda 4 is going to give her character justice. My take on the Chameleon is far more ruthless than Shen ever was. In fact, she is a descendant of the forces that threatened Oogway and Kai's village in my rewrite. But whether the chameleons stayed evil isn't the plot. They actually reformed as generations went by.
The reason they're still the main villains though is what the Chameleon wants to accomplish. In this version, Empress NingJing, which is her name, watched her father get killed by Lord Shen. And when her mother decided to step in, Shen killed her, too. So when Ning was old enough, she plotted to manipulate China's governments in obtaining their most valuable resources. Using them to construct aerial warships that drop Iron Rods capable of wiping out entire cities.
Because of the trauma Ning suffered from her past, Ning's goal in this rewrite is to eliminate any nation only she deems a threat to China. And her motivation for doing this is so only the "Peaceful" nations could prosper. And she considers her own nation peaceful, given they reconciled with China centuries ago. It's going to be Po & the Furious Five against a force that already expanded across China. A ticking clock to prevent the iron rods from dropping.
But in the final fight, Po will discover something that, while manages to defeat Ning, becomes the conceit for the next trilogy. Shar Qui. It's basically the evil version of Chi. And Po will learn to master this dark power as this new trilogy progresses. But for KFP4, it's only introduced, there.
Ideas for Sonic 5 & 6
We all know Metal Sonic is going to be the main villain in Sonic 4. But to avoid repeating the OG trilogy formula, Sonic 5 and 6 should be a 2 parter.
Mephiles should be the main villain for Sonic 5, but Silver pretty much carries the plot of the movie. And I think Sonic 5 should end with Mephiles winning and him taking control of Ibilis. Thus becoming Solaris.
Which in turn sets up Solaris as the main villain for Sonic 6. And Sonic, Silver & Shadow should find a way to defeat him by the end of the movie.
A long time ago, i made my own Steven Universe villain. But looking back, I don't believe i've written her well enough.
My villain's name is Bella Desmond and she's Steven's babysitter. The same one that Pearl threw with a Jungle Gym. And my story explores the incident through her perspective.
You'd think that after what happened to Bella she'd grow to hate gems. Well, you're right. Because that's exactly who she becomes. Someone who hates gems. But there’s a deeper reason.
Not only was Bella actually caught in the Jungle Gym, Garnet Amethyst and Pearl left her as collateral. It's important to know, however that the Crystal Gems did not fully adjust to human customs at the time. So their perception of heroism was in it's early stages.
This also explains how Steven from the intro got the band aid on his right cheek. After the impact, Bella dropped Steven causing a scar to form. Thankfully, Pearl patched him up once they returned to the temple. You know... after they left Bella to suffer.
Help did arrive, though.
Bella recieved a severe spinal fracture during the incident. The weight of the supports crushed her back. But the suffering was just beginning. When Bella recovered, her parents Brian & Bethany asked who did this to her. And the second Bella said “ALIENS” they completely shut her off. And yes, Aliens does sound like an immature excuse.
But… Bella was technically attacked by aliens. That's the tragedy. She knew she was telling the truth. And her parents wouldn't believe her because they had no way of knowing that there are aliens living on this planet.
This, in turn, caused a rift between them. Eventually, Bella figured she wouldn't be loved by her parents anymore. So she ran away to find a new family. It sounded crazy, but she was attacked by aliens and the people she needed the most weren’t going to love her.
She needed love. She needed someone. Anyone to validate her feelings. But the result was the same. So she tried the NEXT family! The result was the same. And so on and so forth. Bella went in and out of homes for 2 years. She was 16 when Pearl threw the Jungle Gym at her. When Bella turned 18, that's when her suffering stopped.
Not.
This new couple wasn't sure whether to adopt Bella. Delmarva state laws prohibited anyone 18 or older, adoption. And this was because you were legally an adult. But given how vulnerable she was, they decided to do a court hearing. This was Bella's last chance at getting adopted. If the judge said no, she'd spend the rest of her life unloved. And sure enough…
[VIOLENCE WARNING]
The moment the judge prohibited Bella from adoption, Bella went completely feral. She ran to the judge and tried choking her to death (Yes, the judge was a woman.) The cops restrained Bella, saving her life. But they sentenced Bella to 20 years in prison. Where at the very least, they gave her parole. And this was because she just turned 18.
Now, it's easy to understand why you would hate the Judge. The important thing to know is that no one wanted Bella to live the rest of her life alone. Everyone was just enforcing the law. No one wanted anyone to get hurt. But Bella literally cannot and will not ever understand that.
Bella would be released in 2020. The same year Steven Universe Future ended in real life (Steven Universe, in the series spanned from 2013 to 2014. While the Movie-Future spanned from 2016 to 2017.) She was in her late 30's.
So, why is getting released after years of isolation… bad?
Gems, the very people that ruined her life, now coexist with humans.
Seeing it all, laughter, play, vulnerability, amends… It felt like the universe was telling her her suffering will never matter going forward. She might not have anything to gain for an almost 40 y/o woman whose trauma might not resonate with the modern world. She could tell anyone about her worldview and they'd go as far as calling her a racist.
But it made Bella feel all the more isolated. More susceptible to partaking in whatever human-only related activities there were left in this world. For the second gems stepped into the picture, a door was closed. Soon, all the doors would be closed. So how could Bella be happy?
She can't.
Because she genuinely believed that gems ruined every chance she had at feeling normal.
But… humans ARE supposed to coexist with gems. To take that all away would be telling STEVEN that HIS efforts in stopping the Diamonds had no meaning.
What's funny, is that Steven, too, went through a similar existential crisis. Seeing gems coexist with humans felt like the universe telling HIM that HIS suffering didn't matter. It felt like the universe telling him he wasn't useful anymore. But where Bella isolated herself, Steven (eventually) opened up.
He realized the universe WASN'T telling him that his suffering didn't matter. The universe WASN'T telling him he wasn't useful anymore. If Gems and humans were moving on with their lives, then it was a sign that HE needed to move on with his. Find his own calling.
So, where does that leave Bella?
WAYYY before the Diamonds emerged from Homeworld (Say, 100,000 years ago), traces of dark matter manifested into a prokaryotic organism. The Mass A black mass that grew with every trace of space matter it consumed. Asteroid debris, Moons, as well as the already lifeless worlds that inhabited it.
Yes. It consumed anything but life.
As you might have guessed, this is where Earth comes in.
My Pitch for Hoppers 2 has finally been completed! And...
...It's also a set up for the Hoppers THREEquel!
I'm pitching a sequel for Hoppers 2.
I won't spoil what happens, but these are the topics that will be covered.
Mabel's family history is further explored
The Dog Collars become the center focus of the story. But not in the way you'd expect.
Someone directly connected to Mabel is the main villain. And a twist villain.
Also... and i'm sorry for sounding like a bummer, but... George isn't in the sequel. Once it became clear Mabel was going to walk a different path in life, they slowly drifted apart. But, for me, this was the best choice.
Not only is the Glade free from corporate takeover, George pretty much served his purpose being the catalyst for Mabel's character growth. So it's not worth putting him in danger again.
George's VA is Panda's VA from We Bare Bears. It made sense for Daniel Chong to have an actors from his old show and have him star in his new movie.
I knew George was voiced by Bobby Moynihan. But I couldn't wrap my finger around it. Then, I realized he sounded so similar to Panda. But in a more fatherly way. My mind blew up. I was like WHAT??? It was an amazing experience.
Understanding THIS scene
I know some people feel that this scene was rushed. Like, "How could Balister instantly forgive Ambrosius after the emotional turmoil." We'll, after carefully analyzing this scene, I think I figured it out.
Ballister clearly felt upset after Nimona's sacrifice. So when Ambrosius came to his side, he probably submitted himself so Ambrosius could arrest him. Especially with how bad he felt.
It was when Ambrosius hugged Ballister that he realized that wasn't why he was here. And that he finally realized he was right all along.
How would you feel if Hoppers 2 had a different main character?
And, it wouldn't be called "Hoppers" either. Bc the project was scrapped. The new project would have to be named after the new invention made by Dr. Sam. I could see this new sequel being named "Hoppers Series: _________". Mabel could be mentioned, but she won't be in the story at all.
Where can I go other than Reddit to show my SU projects? I had a whole list planned before Lars of the Stars was announced.
I just feel like this isn’t the right place.
I know Kamijirou isn't canon, but after Sero talked with them in the special, I'd like to believe either one of them eventually considered it.
We can do basically anything we want with the series now that it's over.
The 7 levels of Steven Universe villains (Part 1)
Level 1 - Scum
They're just egotists. They're one dimensional through and through. They have no strategy. No grand plan. Just evil for the sake of it. And not evil, really. Just jerks. Sure, they may pose a nuisance to the protagonist, but no matter how "scary" or "intimidating" they view them, the only interesting thing about them is often than not, "They were mean to them." That is literally all the villain in them.
Kevin
Arguably the worst villain in the franchise. Kevin is often than not your typical social climber. His whole existence is to serve as an obstacle for Steven and Connie. But at every turn, he fails miserably. He loses a race to two 14 year olds fused together. And when Steven repairs his relationship with Connie, he's then dumped in his own pool in front of the friends he invited for his party.
Emerald
A high ranking government official serving not one, but TWO diamonds is sure enough to earn her a higher spot. But her motivation boiled down to "My ship was stolen by Pirates". It's here you realize how pathetic Emerald really is. It's not entirely her fault though. If Cartoon Network didn't cut production, then maybe she would have been a more fleshed out and memorable character.
Squaridot
You'd think that she'd be a direct parallel to Peridot’s character growth. But whenever she gets belittled, you realize she's no different. Every insult thrown by Peridot fills this gem with Pure rage. But Unleash the Light showed us that not every egotist is insufferable and with no motive at all. Once Steven convinces her to open up, she finally starts to reflect on her life.
Steven Universe - Age 28
Steven Universe: Evil on The Rise, in my continuity, is the Infinity War equivalent to the franchise. Set in year 2028, which, by then, will also be 15th anniversary of the franchise. In this story, a wicked entity from space falls in the hands of someone linked to Steven's past. With it, they usher a multiplanetary invasion against gemkind itself. With the stakes higher than ever before, Steven must not only save gemkind again, but confront an incredibly devastating truth.
This is not only Steven's final journey, but the last time Zach Callison will ever portray him. However, this is not the end of the franchise. There are three more installments left before the ultimate conclusion. But know that this is his most mature, and chilling portrayal of the character yet. There are little to no comedic moments for him. He's a grown man, through and through. And the aura is off the charts.
