Question about the outrage regarding the end of physical copies.
I hate DRM and corporate greed in general, but can someone explain to me why this is now such a big issue, as many (most?) new games require an internet connection in order to play?
Requiring an internet connection has always meant that game developers/publishers/Sony/Microsoft could effectively “kill” those games—whether or not you have a physical copy.
Is it the fact that people are now just waking up to the fact that we don’t truly “own” the games, despite this having been the case for years and years?
Theoretically—What would happen if you hung yourself by a guitar string?
Was having a classy Father’s Day meal with my wife and kids discussing songs by Beck.
“Loser” came up (obviously) and the conversation quickly focused on one lyric in particular:
The daytime crap of the folksinger slob
He hung himself with a guitar string
Spirited and graphic debate ensued about what, exactly, would happen if one were to attempt this. Broken string? Decapitation? Broken neck? Crushed windpipe? Cleanly sliced windpipe?
We have no info to refer to (and don’t want to supply our own data, duh). None of us are physicians nor coroners. Google offered little more than self harm prevention advice 😂
The general consensus was that we would never know…until I remembered this subreddit and all my fellow morbid wonderers.
So—what say you all?

Looking for places that sell used bicycles.
Looking to buy 3 decent bikes for my family and brand new simply isn’t in the budget.
I’m categorically NOT going to do Facebook marketplace, and I dread the prospect of opening the Craigslist Can of Worms™️
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Go Birds.
