Well pump Service

I'm looking for a company to come service/likely replace old galvanized well pump pipes. My water is very rusty looking and i think this is at least the majority of the issue. I've contacted one company (a well company) so far and they said they can come out and look/do the job but that they charge for drive time and didn't offer an estimate. They installed the system originally so it seems they'd know what the situation calls for.

They might be perfectly great but I'm looking for other companies to compare or at least get an estimate.

The curt and somewhat confusing response I got from the original company is what is prompting this.

Also, should I only be contacting companies that deal with wells? Or would a residential plumber also handle this?

Thanks

Attic Air Circulation

We purchased a home a year ago that has consistently grown mold very easily.

We thought the issue was mostly because it is on an uninsulated slab and it is pretty humid here. So we thought it was mostly condensation issues because the slab is so cold.

Now we are realizing that our attic is not venting properly, so it is a hot pocket of air that is greatly adding to the problem

I've cleaned the ridge vent from the outside (broom) and inside (leaf blower) so that I can see some sunlight coming through the mesh at the ridge.

BUT I do not believe the soffits are intaking air properly. The vent channels are very small, thin styrofoam that seem like they might be compressed and improperly sized in the first place.

My roof, although not in great shape, does not quite yet need replacing.

Can ventilation channels be placed while the roof is still in place? If so, what kind of company could do this? I spoke with a roofing company today and they don't do this service but I'm not sure if this is the norm.

Please point out if I'm misunderstanding something in this situation. I'm not an expert, I just know I don't want a moldy house.

EDIT:

Most of the mold growth is in the living space. We have also found some mold on the paper side of the insulation in contact with the top of the ceiling.

Hydronic Heating People

We are currently renovating our house. We're in the demo phase. We have a veissman water boiler that has been supplying our radiant baseboard heat. Since we are tearing out all floors and moving many walls, we figure this is the time to do in floor heating. We are on an uninsulated slab.

We assume the work that needs to be done to make this happen are to add these layers

Insulating membrane/panels

Grid system with pex

Leveled gypcrete

I have contacted several companies nearby that do NOT offer this service. Does anyone know of a company that does?

I have found one that does but I'd like to get a few estimates and make sure there is agreement on how to do this best.

Looking for cat sitters

My family and I are going out of town soon. I am hoping to find someone who can board our two very nice, very well behaved non destructive cats. We are leaving june 16 and coming back june 27. These cats are generally very relaxed. They are ok with dogs, but prefer to keep some distance.

We are looking for a place other than our home because we have some construction projects going on right now and we assume no one would want to stay there. Although everything is fully operational except for hot water. If I'm wrong about no one wanting to stay there then let me know. It's a cool spot on a lake.

Thanks

Where to bring bikes for tires

I have a few bikes with flat tires that I'd like to get operational. I'm pretty sure tires are the only problem but they maybe could use some sort of tune-up. What are your favorite bike shops? Or is there someone you know who does this out of their garage? When I was a kid we brought bikes in need of attention to "the bike guy." No shop, just a guy with a serious hobby. Anyone like that around?

Also I know I could Google it and figure out how to fix it but I am truly maxed out on projects.

Thanks for any leads

Camper Roof

We recently bought this camper and there is a slightly soft spot in the ceiling that corresponds with this spot on the roof. I can feel that it has gotten wet and so the covering is kinda bubbling up but there is only one smallish soft spot. I've scraped the caulk off of this in hopes that re caulking will take care of the water intrusion issue.

I know that I need to clean it better, I have only dry brushed it so far. Is it necessary to clean it with denatured alcohol? I am planning on using dicor ultra sealant self-leveling caulk.

I tried to photograph where the plastic lip comes up. It's full of caulk and I couldnt get it all out. Is it necessary to unscrew it and make a clearer slate? I was hoping a generous application would cover it just fine.

We've had it parked inside for a couple of months now so I believe it is all dried out.

Am I on the right track? Any glaring problems?

I appreciate any feedback. I'm a complete newbie.
