Venting
I’m so tired of pretending that I’m okay when inside I feel completely exhausted, overwhelmed, and alone.
I’m a single mother like so many of you here, and while I love my children, I don’t love the life I’m living right now.I feel isolated and drained.
I feel angry at their father for not showing up. I’m tired of lying, tired of acting like I’m fine, tired of carrying everything on my own.
The truth is that I’m unhappy with my life and with so many of the decisions I’ve made.It hurts to admit this, but I feel alone in every sense. I have no family around, no support, no one to lean on. And some days, I just hate the life I’m stuck in.
Is it my fault
I feel like my decision destroyed me completely.
Years ago, I met someone I eventually married.
Before the marriage, he told me he had herpes but reassured me that I had nothing to worry about and that he would do everything to avoid transmitting the virus to me.I didn’t know much about herpes, and the fact that he had it didn’t push me away. I didn’t think it was a big issue, especially because he promised he wouldn’t pass it on to me.But he did.Since we broke up, I’ve been living with this virus and feeling like my life is over. (Please don’t tell me “your life isn’t over” — because right now, to me, it feels like it is.)
I’m afraid to even think about having someone new in my life. Honestly, I feel terrible about it.
Herpes feels horrible.
