If you check Speedrun.com, you'll notice that the DS Rio game has only a single speedrun submission for any% at 58 minutes, 12 seconds, and 75 milliseconds. And it's a pretty good run, with concise gameplay and the majority of inputs being perfects. Kudos to Jubilee.

It does make me wonder though if anyone else is up for the challenge, which is why I put "so far" in the title. Jubilee mentions that a sub-50 could be possible, and worst case scenario, you get 2nd place just for attempting. If anyone wants to give it a go, please let me know! It's nice to give more obscure parts of the Rio Franchise like these games some attention.

And it's not an escape route. That would defeat the endings purpose.

You know how there's 2 different dialogues the narrator has, for both the first time you get it and second and onward? ("And Stanley died again.")

I think it'd be cool if you decided to just not move or not press any buttons, the narrator notices and taunts you for giving up as a 3rd one. Because he'll still mock you for frantically running to press every button, even if you decide to not do anything at all. What do you guys think though?

Somewhere around March 18th, MoonAU+, a popular Ultrakill lyricist for fanmade covers had his channel completely terminated over one video. When he tried to contact support, he only got generic AI responses. Thankfully, today he's been restored, but I was curious what the video was.

It's literally just Jason Derulo's Wiggle sang over an Ultrakill track that got him terminated for "sexual content"

YouTube literally has had the original song up for over 10 years, but you can't resing it in another vid? It's all bullshit, and letting AI determine what is and isn't NSFW is going to only get worse in the future

Did you know that there was a bootleg mobile game made to capitalize on the success of the Rio Franchise? Unlike other mockbuster movies like Ratatoing or Birds of Paradise: Meet the Flockers, This game stuck way closer to the style of Rio though, so I think it's worth doing a small retrospective into. Welcome to "Escape from Rio - Blue Birds"

It has a plot from an APK Description of it I found, although the grammar is definitely broken. I had trouble understanding it myself, but basically, Not-Blu wants to escape the city and return home to the jungle. I'll copy paste the actual description below.

>Your story is like a movie - a lonely bird somewhere in the big, south-american city feels, that he needs to going back to their roots. The jungle is calling him, even he grown up between humans, but the word of the blood is calling from far-far away from the jungle. The bird breaks free, and escapes from the mega-city. Your task is to guide the blue bird during his adventure, avoiding obstacles and enemies, staying in the air as far as possible to find the heart of jungle that calls him back. And who knows, once it will be the theme of a movie too....

I'm a bit lost on it too, although the "word of the blood" part sounds pretty metal.

Gameplay wise it's a hybrid of endless runners like Subway Surfers and Temple Run with an overworld hub like Candy Crush. Using your touch screen, you can move Not-Blu in any direction, but you can't stop him from flying forward until you reach the end of the level. Rinse and repeat hundreds of times. It doesn't look that fun to play for me honestly in my opinion. The point of endless runners is them being endless, and the graphics aren't good, even for their time. I'd rather play something like Jetpack Joyride instead.

The last thing to note is it's release date. It came out in May 2015. This is a bit of a weird spot in time, since it's well after the hype of Rio 2 died down post it's release. Maybe they were anticipating more Rio content to come after like Ice Age, but it's a bit surprising that they didn't release it in the weeks upcoming to the movie like most bootlegs do.
