V4. O. 2 Still a failure

Has anyone been able to get the facial recognition on the start screen able to work without switching from finger print to face?

It seems as if it's still necessary to touch the screen to tell the app to use the face. WTF. If I am going to ouch the screen might as well use the fingerprint

Unless I am missing a simple setting on the app or Android phone this is a contined joke about Insulet ability to deliver user friendly software.

GlucoGlance Android app for multi-user, multi-sensor tracking. Awaiting Google Play review & looking for early testers!

Hey everyone,

I’ve just finished developing an Android app focused on aggregating data for people who need to track multiple sensors or multiple users/family members simultaneously. It's fully built and currently sitting in the Google Play review queue.

The core goal was breaking out of the "one app, one sensor, one view" limitation. To give you a clean, consolidated dashboard, the app pulls data by combining both direct cloud service polling and system notification processing to ensure everything stays synced and up to date.

Key Features Built:

  • True Multi-User & Multi-Sensor Support: Track multiple concurrent data streams or family members in one place, powered by a mix of cloud data and notifications.
  • Deep Android Integration: Designed for zero-friction viewing. It leverages rich ongoing notifications, status bar chips, and system-level widgets so your data is always visible at a glance without having to open the app.
  • Wear OS Complications: Built natively using the Watch Face Format (WFF) so you can pin real-time data directly to your favorite watch face.

Because it's awaiting final store approval, I’m putting together an early tester list. If you manage tracking for multiple people (like kids, partners, or family members) or run multiple data streams yourself and want to see how it handles on your device, drop a comment or shoot me a DM.

Would love to get a few of you onboard as soon as the review clears!

"Free tool to check if your Omnipod pods are on the recall list. Jjust scan the QR code on the box with your phone

Insulet has issued two active recalls covering hundreds of lot numbers across both DASH and Omnipod 5.

Recall 1 — REF: 9056196-03/12/2026-001-C (March 2026)

Recall 2 — REF: 9056196-05/20/2026-002-C (May 2026)

Most people have no idea if their pods are affected.

I built a free tool on GlucoGlance that lets you scan the QR code on your pod box with your phone camera — it checks instantly against both full recall lists and tells you if your pods are safe or recalled.

No app download. No login. Just point your camera.

I’m reporting a serious issue with the CareLink Connect app. The app refuses to run and says my phone is “rooted or jailbroken.” This is not true. My phone is completely stock and unmodified. It passes Play Integrity and SafetyNet. I’m a developer and use standard Android developer mode, which does not root or alter the OS.

Every other diabetes‑related medical app works on this same device with zero problems. Dexcom Follow works. Libre LinkUp works. Eversense works. Omnipod works. Even Medtronic’s own pump apps work. CareLink Connect is the only app that blocks access.

This is a software defect in Medtronic’s detection logic. It incorrectly flags normal phones as modified and prevents caregivers from following glucose data. That creates a real safety issue. If someone relies on a follower for alerts, this lockout can put them at risk.

I’ve filed a report with the FDA because this is not acceptable for a medical device app. Medtronic needs to fix the false “modified device” detection so caregivers can reliably monitor users.

If anyone else is seeing this, speak up. The more reports, the faster they fix it.

Ever wondered what an extended bolus looks like on a graph?

This was a 24u bolus. 65% now 35% over 30 min.

First chart is Eversense in blue, Dexcom G7 in green
Second chart Eversense in blue, Libre 3 in Yellow

The cyan color is my IOB.

When I showed this to my Diabetes NP a few days after I took the Libre screenshot. I showed her the live chart on my phone. Without a word, Marcia said, "Oh, look the Libres always run low"
