Open-source local-first note app built with Tauri, Rust and SQLite. AI-ready portable SQLite vaults

Hi everyone!

I have been working on DBnote, an open-source, local-first desktop note application built with Tauri, Rust, React and SQLite.

The main idea is simple: every vault is just a portable SQLite database. Your notes, links, tags and graph relationships remain local, queryable and easy to back up, without requiring a cloud service or account.

Current features:

  • Local-first note taking
  • Wiki links and backlinks
  • Full-text search
  • Interactive graph view
  • SQLite-backed storage
  • No cloud or account required
  • AI-ready data for embeddings, semantic search and other ML workflows

I built this project to create a note-taking app where the data stays completely under the user's control while remaining useful for analytics and future AI applications.

I do really appreciate any feedback, feature suggestions or criticism. If you find a bug or have an idea, feel free to open an issue or a pull request!

Dev Forge Team Seeking New Members(HOBBY)

We are a group of six people who have come together with the goal of learning and improving our software development skills. Everyone in the group has an active GitHub profile and is familiar with working in a professional workflow, including commits, documentation, and structured development practices. We aim to operate in a way similar to a real development team: pull requests must meet quality standards in order to be accepted; otherwise, they are requested to be revised and resubmitted.

There is no hierarchy within the group, no manager or “boss.” All members are equal contributors. We communicate through regular online meetings and work collaboratively while learning together.

At the moment, we are actively working on two main projects. The first is implementing the classic Snake game in six different programming languages, where each member selects a language and contributes independently. This project is designed to strengthen our understanding of different programming paradigms and improve our version control and collaboration skills.

The second project is an open-source FastAPI-based application, which has just been started. We plan to expand this further into multiple open-source initiatives over time.

Participation is kept flexible: one meaningful commit per week is sufficient. There is no expectation for daily activity or constant pressure our priority is steady learning and consistent progress over time.

If you are interested in joining us, we have a few expectations: an active GitHub profile with at least 200 contributions and a solid understanding of GitHub workflows. Interested candidates can send their GitHub profile via direct message. If your GitHub profile is not active, we kindly ask that you do not apply, as this helps maintain a productive environment for everyone involved.

Welcome to Dev Forge Team.

I AM FROM BULGARIA (ethnic turkic) AMA

I am from Varna, Bulgaria. I am not from Turkey, and although I have a Turkish name, I am culturally Bulgarian and ethnically Turkic. We are a community that mixes traditions: we celebrate Christmas, we eat pork, no hijab and we also have both Christian and Muslim cultural influences, people live like deists religion is only something observed during holidays. We visit twice a year mosque, and we celebrate holidays from both religions. Cousin marriage is not practiced in our community and never has been. I have no relatives in Turkey or elsewhere; all of them are from Bulgaria.

In my DNA test, the closest populations are Bulgarian Turks, Gagauz people, and Bulgarians. My haplogroup is C-L1373. We are sometimes associated with the Gagauz, known as “Gacals = muslim Gagauz,” and are considered a Turkic group whose exact arrival in the Balkans is not fully known. We have lived in the Balkans for over 1000 years. Some say that we are descended from the first Bulgars who came to the Balkans, while others say that we are remnants of the Hun Empire. But the only known fact is that we have been here for many years and have mixed with the native peoples of the Balkans.

Short summary: A Bulgarian (Turkic) community with mixed Christian and Muslim cultural influences, secular in practice, Turkish-speaking, typically blonde and blue-eyed, mainly living in the Dobrudja region and Varna. According to DNA tests, closest to Bulgarian Turks, then Gagauz, then Bulgarians. Haplogroup C-L1373 (Turkic haplogroup).

If anyone has questions, feel free to ask. Racism will be reported.

[Hobby] Open Source Team Looking for One New Member

We are a group of 6 people from all around the world. Some of us are students, and some are working professionals.

Our only requirement is simple: one commit per week. That's it. We understand that everyone has their own responsibilities, studies, work, and personal life. There is no pressure to be active every day.

Nobody is the boss here we are all equals. You can manage your own time and contribute at your own pace while learning and building things together with us. As long as you make at least one commit per week, you're meeting our expectations.

Please make sure your GitHub account is genuinely active. Last time, many people applied with newly created GitHub accounts that had little or no activity. An active GitHub profile is very important to us.

Our organization focuses on open-source projects for learning, collaboration, and fun. Documentation is extremely important to us and is one of our highest priorities.

We are open to anyone who wants to contribute to open source, learn new things, and work on interesting projects together. We are flexible regarding technologies and project ideas—what matters most is curiosity, consistency, and a willingness to learn.

If you're interested, send me a DM with your GitHub profile.

We are currently looking for only one new member.

[HOBBY] We are looking for 2 people to learn and grow with our organization! (Unpaid) FOR FUN

We are currently working on small projects and trying to learn how to work as a team and solve problems together. For example, right now we are creating a Snake game in 5 different programming languages. Learning step by step and improving slowly is very important for us.

Commits and documentation are also important, but we are not putting too much pressure on anyone. In our current situation, even writing a single line of code per week is enough. However, following the rules is still required.

We also have an “ideas” channel on our Discord server where everyone shares ideas, and we try to build those ideas together.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask! And if you would like to join us, I would appreciate it if you could send me your GitHub account.

This is not like other organizations. You will feel free because we do not have a boss or “chief.” We are all equal, and we are having fun together while learning.

At university level, even having a little knowledge is enough for us, as long as you know basic things like GitHub pushes and have an active GitHub account.
