So I have worked for a while on a mental health research using Text-mining (R) . I've collaborators reaching out to be involved in it. How do I make sure my ideas/ findings won't be misused ? I don't really know the people that are messaging me. What are some ways I could tell they are not only after my data? Please let me know . Thank you!

If anyone wants to refine and publish ,please DM. I'm stuck only since I don't have affiliation to institutes at the moment. Just looking for an appropriately affiliated person and some enthusiasm!

So a month ago , I was reached by a coordinator of a local community college for an adjunct Instructor position here in the US. I had a great meeting with her , she described how it goes with online classes and all. Also handed me a book I should refer to as I prepare for my material. Had to buy a xp pen so I could make videos and write on them to explain things better. Supposed to start an adjunct instructor at a community college in a week. Haven't gotten anything back from the coordinator yet. I have emailed her already and HR as well. HR states the coordinator has to open a course so I can proceed. The coordinator hasn't replied.all this after a month of preparation I did to create materials and videos! Is it common!? What should I do?
