Reporter hoping to speak with people who stopped GLP-1s and maintained weight loss

My name is Simar Bajaj, and I’m a journalist working on an NBC News story about people who stopped taking a GLP-1 for obesity, even temporarily, and were able to maintain their weight loss.

I’m interested in what that looked like in real life: whether you stopped suddenly or gradually, how you dealt with the return of hunger or food noise, whether the drug helped you make lasting diet/exercise changes, whether you worked with a clinician, and whether you later restarted, microdosed, or switched medications.

If this describes you and you’d be open to being quoted in a story for NBC News, I’d be grateful to hear from you — and connect over a call.

For transparency, I was previous on staff at The New York Times and am now working on this story as an independent journalist. I'm happy to verify my identity and affiliation — however you'd prefer. Thank you so much for considering!
