Just started playing Tales of Berseria. and good lord that prologue went from 1-100 so fast!

And here's me expecting a very wholesome fun shenangigans type game. (loving it)

Ever since Final Fantasy 4, I shouldn't trust prologues anymore lmao.

Last time I saw a character pull a full 180 degrees is probably Jak 2 on the ps2. I genuinely thought Velvet got a different VA right after. wow

newcomer to the series. There's so many. I see people suggest on other threads, abys. But I'm basically limited to PC Steam. (because I wanna cloud save to play on different devices).

Don't care if the combat is the weakest or the controls are janky. Looking for the Metal Gear Solid 2 of the series. Unique story that will make me stop and think about what I just played after beating it. In a good way

update update Edit: Have played through KH & Nier Automata & Code Vein

I've played a few in the past, but will still say I am a normie when it comes to JRPGs.

Looking for one specifically with combat. The Tales and Ys series look up my alley, but I also want a game with lots of depth, story and character. Not saying they aren't I just don't know if they are.

Can be anything 2D sprites to modern 3D. any platform from SNEs, PS1, PC, etc.. Just something with tons of depth in terms of gameplay and story.

Something to play and finish the story in the end like "wow, that's gonna last with me for a long time"

Disclaimer only gacha I've played was like the first two years of Genshin

Was trying out NTE for a couple hours and it hit me that the creepy moments in this game are great, but they shy away from being too much.

Then it hit me, why has no one tapped into a horror gacha market? Obviously so they can appeal to everyone and have a large audience.

But man, a silent hill or CONTROL/SCP like game with actual horror elements on top of various characters to gacha or unlock would be different and new.

Always have and always will. Grew up playing the MGS games and played MGS4 on release. Granted I was like 12 when it came out and maybe my babby brain didn't comprehend the ratio between gameplay vs cutscenes. But even after replaying the series when Legacy Collection came out and then again years later, the cutscenes are just always a blast to play.

And not watch, I don't think I could ever watch MGS4 cutscenes on youtube and call it a day. Seeing it all rendered in-real time is the magic of it for me.

Do I wish it had more gameplay segments? yes. did it ruin the game for me? no.

I don't know if later worlds will also feel so alive with all the NPCs (don't tell me). But I always felt like what was missing from the grand scale of the stories Disney characters would go through, felt so lifeless when you'd have maybe 2-3 extra NPCs in a world, or let alone a cutscene.

Obviously limitations with the PS2 and later portable systems. But still.

I find it funny that, in game, within a couple weeks to a couple months. everyone just decided, "plaid/checkered clothes is the new hot thing"
