This might not get noticed by many people but just in case. For men who have survived coming off Effexor completely without having to transfer onto another SSRI.
If you have since noticed your sexual health has dramatically changed it might not be just in your head.
I would suggest getting your hormones tested to start. If you're still in the process of coming off it would be a great help to yourself and the rest of us if you had your hormones tested while still on the drug and 3-6 months after coming off the drug.
I spent many years and was unable to find a doctor to take my case seriously. Within 2 months off coming off the drug my libido took a massive nosedive. Nothing else in my life had changed during this time. I was also in my late 20s so still close to prime hormonal health.
I was on the drug for 7 years and I imagine like me coming off likely brought you close to the brink a few times.
Your hormones might not bounce back on their own, mine never did and I was quite a muscular person. If you get your hormones tested and you're in the low 300s to 400s you will like be told that's normal. The normal range is considered 300-1000. The thing to keep in mind is "is it normal for you?". You know best if something has changed.
There are some research papers on the effect of Effexor on the Leydig cells if you care to read. Be your own advocate. Message me if you feel inclined and I will help where I can.

Since the day I married our marriage has been 99.9 percent sexless. Before marriage sex happened fairly often. Shortly after we married she said "now you're stuck with me".

Normally I don't put much thought into the previous nights dreams but I had a dream about 3 weeks ago and I can't shake it.
In the dream I'm walking with two dogs in a field when suddenly they take off. They run to an area where a dog is already being attacked and ripped at by two other dogs and the two dogs that were with me begin attacking this dog as well. The dog being attacked appears to have its head stuck in a metal rod fence while it's being attacked.
For the record I don't have a dog, or know any of the dogs in the dream. Does anyone have any insight into this?
