Hear me out , in the first world there were true gods Earth sun sea rain , true embodiment of the universe blessed with the task of life and all in this op world ... One of them corrupted either sun or earth during the first world resulting in death of all others except the sea god but due to prayers of people of this world bodies of three gods gave rise to devil fruits or blessings so that people may prosper .... In the 2nd world imu and joy boy became the earth and sun god , and found about the true gods bodies imu tried to obtain the body of nika while joy boy tried prevent it resulting in death of joy boy and imu taking host in nika's body giving hime access to true divine powers and at some point the sea goddess grew hate for mere mortals to wield a fraction of godly power so she decides to curse anyone who eates it resulting in drowning of the fruit bearers....Maybe there where even more people associated with those gods who were present in the first world and whose ancestors now hold the name "D".
