My Latest Trip, and Clothing Stuff (Class III)

Went with four friends along the Main Payette in Idaho, yesterday. We decided to go along on the same trip because it was two of us our first time, and we wanted to ease the others into it. Super fun stuff. We want to do the class IV trip next month. I had a few thoughts.

I was wearing a polyester shirt, polyester shorts, and it was 94 degrees F(reedom). I still got cold, but a wetsuit would have been overkill. Maybe I'll wear a polyester long sleeve and leggings for sun protection? Also, I was wearing swimming goggles, and not only did they not fit well and were uncomfortable, but the water also flooded them. My guide had what looked like ski goggles on. I'm just trying to keep the splashing water out of my eyes. What do you think?

I Suck At This Game (Vanilla), How Do I Get Better? ('Crons)

Been playing Dawn of War on and off for what-- fifteen years? Just got the Definitive Edition the other day. I've watched a couple videos, but I feel like I'm just not fast enough with build order. I fight against friends and my brother. I have a really bad habit of turtling, but am trying to stop.

Another issue I have is that I feel like I'm not understanding how to be good with Necrons after T3-- I feel like the destroyers are so weak. The troops are beefy, but slow. I got absolutely obliterated by a friend's Green Tide and I got demolished. If anyone has any pointers, or wouldn't mind letting me spectate on a match and teaching me, please DM me. Should I maybe change armies?

As A College Student In School- How Do I Apply Debt Reducing Habits and Methods?

Howdy! I'm new to The Money Guy show. Before this, I was aware of Ramsey's Debt Snowball and Seven Steps. My question is: as a college student currently in grad school, how do I tackle debt now if I 1. don't have the career (counseling) I am looking to get into and currently don't make a whole lot and 2. am watching the student debt I have grow as I take out more loans before I graduate?

Between undergrad and grad school, I was paying off my student loans for about 3 years. Since school has started, I'm working less to accommodate my full-time schedule, and I'm still taking out loans while not currently making payments. I only make $19 an hour and I'm working 40 hours over the summer, but 32 hours during the school year. I have two years left.

I will say this: whenever I get reimbursed by my school after the loan is approved and the classes are paid- I immediately pay back the loans with the money I receive. I am only using loans to pay for classes. Not books, bills, ect. What do I do?

Compact SUV? Or Larger Vehicle?

Hi! I'm currently saving up to buy an older CR-V or RAV-4 (no CVT). The problem is that The CRV only has a max tow weight of 1,500 lb. I looked around a bit, and there's really not much in terms of campers that weigh less than that. I wouldn't need anything fancy, I just need a bed and a shower (outdoor shower works fine). From what I've seen so far, there aren't very many options at all under that weight.

I like the idea of a compact SUV for the slightly better gas mileage, but do you think I should save up for something like a 4Runner, even though I would only be pulling around a camper a couple times a year if that? Or is there something that I'm missing. I enjoy tent camping, but I'm getting to the point where having a camper and a shower would be nice.

why do companies and organizations keep employees who piss everyone off???

What is even the point of keeping an employee like that? We have an employee where I work who everyone complains about, isn't productive, and makes everyone upset. They are confrontational, always moody, and aren't even great at their job. I work at a hospital, and a charge nurse we have is the literal worst. They will text you disrespectful things, are rude to doctors and techs, and management knows how bad this person is.

What's the deal? Are companies aching for people that bad? It would make sense if someone is a jerk, but they are amazing at their job. Our charge nurse doesn't even know what they're doing. I don't work specific days anymore specifically because this person is that much of a pain. One of our "core values," is compassion-- which this person lacks. What the heck?

is it normal to feel like I haven't absorbed anything?

Hi! I finished my first year of grad school in clinical mental health counseling (MA), and am taking a course over the Summer. The thing is- I don't feel like I've learned anything. I've just been studying for the papers I've written. If you asked me about therapeutic approaches or addiction, I couldn't tell you much. Theory goes over my head. I know I'm supposed to remember this for certification, but is this normal? Even for other programs?

What purchases and gear have elevated your whitewater experience? I just bought some cheap swimming goggles for my next trip; but I'm curious to know what you swear by now.

I Went Rafting for the First Time, I have some questions

TL:DR: just trying to decide what boat I should look into based on my experience.

Hey everybody! I went whitewater rafting for the very first time today, and all I have to say is: that was the most fun I've had in years! I really want to get into it, but I think there are things that I need to address.

My first observation was that having a wetsuit and splash jacket was amazing, but I don't know if the splash jacket was performing as well as it should have been. It was an NRS jacket, and it seemed like the water was soaking it. I'm assuming that you need to treat splash jackets like you would Gore-Tex and apply water repellent to it; or maybe that's just the way they are.

The second biggest thing was that when I jumped into the water in a flat section to cool off, I couldn't get back into the boat without assistance. The boat was a Maravia raft, thirteen feet long.

I want to buy my own wetsuit and splash jacket. As for a boat, our guide recommended the AIRE Spud for a beginner, because I was looking at the AIRE Outfitter. I am wanting a quality raft I can stay safe in as a novice AND easily get back inside in case of a flip. But I am also thinking that maybe our friends and I could all buy a bigger raft for all of us, like the AIRE Super Puma someday. I want to try class 4 and 5 rapids at some point! What do you think? My friend and I are HOOKED!!!

I'm Going Whitewater For The First Time This Saturday, and I'm Nervous!

Hi! I made reservations with a rafting company for my mother, a friend, and I. This will be the first time rafting for the three of us. The water is class II-III, and they offer a wetsuit and splash jacket for free (which I will use because I get cold easily). And yet, I'm super nervous. What are your suggestions to ease my nervousness? Thank you!
