Couldn’t see yolk sac

I’m 6w3d, went for an ultrasound and they couldn’t see anything in ges sac. They want to see me back in 2 weeks because she said “it could still be a little too early to see which happens sometimes.” Midwife was happy to see that HCG levels doubled, ges sac is sitting appropriately in my uterus and it’s not misshaped. And I’ve only had 1 miscarriage before this and she’s happy to know I’m not experiencing any cramping and heavy spotting. Now to sit and wait for two weeks…..anyone else experience this? Is it common? Just trying to latch onto any hope 🤍

Safely getting back into exercising

I’m 6w and 38 y/o. About 2 years ago I got really fit the natural way I lost a total of 67lbs I was feeling FOINE 😆 anyway I slowly started to gain the weight gradually over 2 years and sadly I’m overweight. Anyway, I want to have a healthy pregnancy and not feel gross. I want to have a smooth labor and I know that will require eating healthy and weight training. I’m very familiar with weight training and cardio training cause that’s how I lost the pounds. I just want any suggestions on safety since I’m essentially starting during pregnancy. Any advice is helpful and welcome.

Pregnancy and ADHD

Just for context, I was diagnosed at age 35 w/ADHD and was put on Adderall which has worked great for me and I haven’t had any issues. I’m now 38 and 5 weeks pregnant and was wondering what others have been prescribed for their ADHD. I had an appt with my psych NP today and he provided me two safe options of Wellbutrin and atomoxetine. I have my first OB appt tomorrow and will discuss with OBGYN (among other many things lol 😂) to see what is best/safe then I will circle back with my psych NP Friday. I just wanted to know what others experiences are who are in similar situations. TIA.

AITA for being hurt that my boyfriend didn’t tell me he was taking his daughters to a concert he’d originally invited me to?

I (38F) have been with my BF(39M) for a little over a year. We’re currently in the process of planning to move in together, and we’re also expecting a baby — early pregnancy, after a previous loss, if that context matters for how much this whole situation has shaken me emotionally.

He has two daughters from a previous relationship — a 17F and 19F. For background on the family dynamic: he’s told me directly, in his own words, that his daughters can be difficult to manage. He’s said he struggles to hold firm boundaries with them because he’s afraid that if he pushes back too hard, they’ll pull away from him emotionally or decide to live with their mom full-time instead. Because of that fear, from what I’ve observed, he tends to give in to a lot of what they want rather than risk the conflict, and any frustration he has about the situation with his daughters often seems to come out sideways in how he reacts to me, rather than being addressed directly with them.

Some backstory that I think is relevant: a few weeks ago, it was his 17 YO daughter’s birthday. He spent the entire day with her one-on-one, and they went out to dinner together that evening. I wasn’t invited or included in any part of the day. A few days after that, he brought it up to me that it had hurt his feelings that I hadn’t involved myself in her birthday plans at all. I told him honestly that I never received an invite or any indication I was expected to be part of it. His response was that I “don’t need an invite” — that if we’re going to function as a family, I need to take the initiative to insert myself into these things on my own, without being explicitly asked. I remember feeling like that was a bit of a double standard even at the time (why does the responsibility to include only fall on me?), but I let it go and told myself I’d keep that standard in mind going forward, in the spirit of being a good partner and trying to build toward being a blended family.

Fast forward to Father’s Day: his daughters had bought him a ticket to see his favorite band in concert as a gift. He was really excited about it, and in the moment, he told me he’d buy me a ticket too so I could come along. I didn’t think much more about it after that — I just figured it was still the plan and I’d hear more details as it got closer.

A couple of days ago, he mentioned that his daughters wanted a day that was just the two of them and him — no me included. I told him that was totally fine, I understood wanting alone time with his kids, and didn’t push back on that at all.

Then the actual day came. All he told me that morning was that they were going to go eat together as their plan for the day. Hours passed with no updates. Eventually he texted that he didn’t have reception at a certain venue — he only gave me the name of the place, nothing about what it actually was or why he was there. I had taken a nap in the meantime and hadn’t heard anything else, so when I woke up, I texted him asking if he was okay since it had been radio silence for hours. Still nothing back. Out of concern and confusion, I ended up Googling the venue name myself, and that’s how I discovered it was the site of the concert — the same one he’d originally told me he’d get me a ticket for. He never actually told me, directly, that this was where he was going or that it was happening that day. I had to piece it together entirely on my own.

Once I realized what had happened, I texted him how hurt I felt — that I had stayed home all day, told myself it was fine, and only found out the real story hours later through my own googling rather than him just being upfront with me. I also pointed out that he had asked me, weeks earlier, to take more initiative and not wait for invitations if we’re going to be a real family — and yet in this situation, it felt like the same standard didn’t apply to him being transparent with me.

When he finally got signal back and read my messages, his first response was that he “did tell me” about the concert being that day, which isn’t accurate based on our actual conversations — he pointed to an unrelated discussion we’d had earlier in the week about a completely different concert as if that counted. When I didn’t immediately respond because I needed space to calm down, he texted “I can’t believe you’re acting like this,” which felt like it shifted the blame onto my reaction rather than addressing what actually happened. I also noticed afterward that one of his texts in our conversation had been edited after the fact, so I don’t know what his original wording said before he changed it.

To be clear, I don’t think it’s wrong for his daughters to want one-on-one time with their dad, and I’m not upset about that part at all. What’s actually bothering me is the lack of direct communication, the walking back of something he’d said he’d do (buying me a ticket) without ever clearly telling me that changed, and what feels like a pattern where I’m expected to take initiative and be transparent, but that expectation doesn’t seem to run both ways.

So, Reddit — AITA for being hurt and telling him how I felt, even though his daughters wanting alone time with their dad is, on its own, a completely reasonable thing to want?
