Podcast Series You Can't Put Down? Any Genre!

I usually like to throw a podcast on when working, and I love podcast series that suck me in and I can't stop listening to since it makes the time fly by. Does anyone have a podcast series that they literally could not stop listening to? Here are some that I think of that I couldn't put down, so ones similar to these would be wonderful. I enjoy any type of podcast, as long as it sucks me in and I don't want to stop listening.

  • Love Trapped
  • Root of Evil
  • American Scandal
  • Alison After NXIVM
  • Muscle Man

And here are some that are on my list - would love to hear if these are worth listening to.

  • Bear Brook
  • My Dad Wrote a Porno
  • OnlyFantasy
  • Betrayal
  • Scamanda

EDIT: Wow, I didn't expect to get this many responses!! Thank you all so much :)

should I study while on vacation to "keep things fresh"?

For context, I'm taking the August test and planning on taking October (and November if needed). I'm averaging around a 163-168 right now and shooting for a 170+. Right after (like 2 days after) taking the August test, I'm going on vacation for a week, and I was not going to study or do anything LSAT related at all to relax.

However, I realized between the August and October tests there are only 8-ish weeks, and sometimes when I don't study for more than a couple days it's almost like my LSAT muscles weaken and I have to spend time getting back to where I was. I want to reward myself for all of the hard work I have been putting in, but I'm nervous that if I don't get in at least some questions or practicing skills in (not timed sections or anything intense like that), that I'll have to make up the time when I get back getting to the same place in my studying, and I feel like I'm in a good spot right now. At the same time, I don't want to feel like I'm not putting in 100% every time I'm studying or I'm wasting questions because I'm distracted.

So, would it be more beneficial to not study at all and recover after taking the test, or would doing some questions here and there help to keep the LSAT muscles warm?

(I wanted to note that on this vacation I will be flying there and back, there will be a 3-ish hour car ride between places where I won't be driving, I'll be waiting in lines, and I'll be on the beach. So, there will be times where I can always bring a book/my iPad to study or do some of the 7Sage games, but its either that or my beach read, lol)

A reminder that you might score lower than usual in the 2 weeks before taking your test on a test or section- that doesn't represent you and your LSAT abilities!

I keep telling myself this (since I'm a perfectionist) but also would like to remind everyone that the few weeks before the test, it is totally normal to have a bad section, test, drilling session, etc.

On Sunday, I did a LR section and was shocked to see a score 6 points below where I usually am- my worst section in months. I felt literally so crushed and was texting my friends about moving my test (just because of that one section!). Then I thought "What would I do if this happened not two weeks before I took my test?" I took a deep breath, did my WAJ journal, had some ice cream and moved on. Today, I did a LR section and got my usual score.

Our senses and stress levels are heightened, we are putting this enormous pressure on ourselves, and sometimes it comes out in a section that might not be where you know you are at. It also might just be that you didn't sleep well, it is a known tougher test (looking at you 158 and 159), or you had a long day, and this was the only time you could get it in. There are so many factors that could affect it! One "bad" section or test before the actual thing doesn't take away from all the work you have put in, so don't beat yourself up over it too much. We got this and we will all be amazing attorneys someday!

No Imported Sections on Dashboard??

I tend to use LawHub more for sections and the Demon for drilling, and I import those sections to the Demon. However, on my Dashboard it only includes sections that I have taken on the Demon, which are wayyyy lower than how I am doing now. Is it a good way to see how far I have come? Absolutely. But is there a way to either fix this so that the Dashboard shows the latest sections I have taken, even if they are imported? If not, maybe this is something that the Demon can implement?

Wrong Answer Journal Entries for RC?

I loveeee my WAJ and have seen a significant improvement after using it for review for LR (writing down the parts of the argument in my own words, why the wrong answer is wrong and why I fell for it, why the right answer is right and why I didn't pick it and then something for me to improve on next time/something to remember).

However, I can't see to successfully shift over to reviewing wrong answers with RC even though I have been trying. It always turns out looking like "you didnt read closely enough" or something more broad versus specifics that help me improve. Does anyone have advice for how to review wrong RC answers in the journal? I get that RC isn't as "pattern based" as LR per se, but RC is my weaker section of the test so I'm determined to get better at it by reviewing. Thanks!

No August Registration Yet??

I have been signed up for the August test since the beginning of June and still haven't received anything regarding scheduling the test (I checked my inbox, trash, etc). Have they just not sent it out yet?

LawHub Buffering Issues?

Hi all - I have been trying to use LawHub to study and for the past week or so, it is stuck on the same page when I try to start a test. It used to work with the new format (August forward), but recently I'll go to "resume" a test (even if I didnt actually start it, if I had clicked on it and tried to start it goes to the same page) and it will just stay on the "loading" page until I exit out. It doesn't even give me the different section options, just stays loading.

I've tried different WiFi's, restarting/updating my computer, so just wanted to see if anyone else is having this issue before reaching out to LSAC. I've included a screenshot too for context. Thanks!!

Loading page that appears whenever trying to start a test/section.

AITA for saying my bfs friends' engagement was "wack" and he heard?

I (25F) have been with my bf, let's call him Tommy (26M), for over 5 years. We have a group of friends - Alan and Gabe, Gabe's girlfriend Rachel, and Alan's friend Mitch. Tommy and I aren't as close to Mitch, but he is a great guy that I genuinely enjoy being around. We all don't get together often, so we do a group trip every year. Last year Mitch brought his girlfriend of a few months, Lauren. Long story short, it was clear she thought of the trip as time to spend just with him, and her behavior reflected that. I didn't have an issue with her personally, but she ticked off almost everyone else for different reasons. Ever since then, I would hear about their constant issues less than a year in, including Mitch considering cutting things off and Lauren convincing him not to. My source for the tea was Alan, who would ask Tommy and I's opinion on situations so that he knew he wasn't alone in thinking that this wasn't the healthiest relationship. And he wasn't - I hate speculating on people's relationships, but it was clear that there were some issues that needed to get figured out between them before taking the next step.

A few months ago, Mitch told the guys that he bought an engagement ring. The guys were shocked and asked if he was proposing soon, and he said that he was not - it was on sale, so he bought it. But less than a month after saying that, Mitch proposed. No one knew he was going to pop the question, so we were shocked to say the least. While we were happy for him, behind the scenes we all were on the same page that this wasn't the best decision.

Last week, Tommy was late for their weekly gaming session. I got a call from Alan, and I said that Tommy would be there soon. He joked that Gabe and Mitch's girlfriends don't stop them from getting to the game on time. I hadn't talked to Alan since the engagement, so I said "Don't you mean Mitch's fiancé? Which, that's fucking wack." Alan got quiet and said, "you know everyone can hear you, right?" I did not know that I was on speaker - "Everyone" included Mitch. I stuttered something like "I meant that in a good way!" Tommy had hopped on, so I hung up. I immediately felt awful for saying that when Mitch could hear. I tend to use "wack" meaning "surprised" or "crazy" when describing situations, so I meant it not in a negative way, but that I was surprised by the engagement. After the game ended, I asked Tommy if I should text Mitch and apologize that he heard that, and Tommy said I have nothing to worry about since Alan didn't tell me I was on speaker and Mitch didn't mention anything about it during the game. I still feel awful, even a few weeks later. I've explained this situation to a few other friends, and they all said that I'm fine and I shouldn't worry about it since it's understandable to be surprised at the situation. So, AITA?

EDIT: Wow this blew up more than I expected. Thanks for the feedback. One thing I wanted to clarify is that Mitch did know about feelings regarding his relationship - it wasn't just people gossiping behind his back without telling him anything to his face. I'm not close enough to Mitch to mention anything, and I'm not sure if the others have mentioned anything to him, but Alan has told Mitch numerous times that he doesn't think the relationship is healthy and flat out said when Mitch told them about the ring that he didn't think proposing was a good idea, but that he would support him no matter the decision he made.

Also, I'm fine being a gf of five years. Rachel has been dating Gabe for an even longer time than I have been with Tommy, and it was certainly not out of jealously that I made that comment.

TLDR: My friend didn't tell me I was on speaker and I said what everyone was really thinking about a friend getting engaged in front of the friend.

Another LOR after waiting a cycle?

As the title says, I waited a cycle to boost my LSAT (will be a splitter). Last cycle, I had everything basically ready to go - all my essays were finished, and I had two letters of recommendations in LSAC, one from a professor and one from a partner at my law firm I work at. However, in the time that has passed since those LOR were written, I started working with one of the firms' biggest clients, and I hit it off with the manager of that support team. I do a lot of punching above my weight in terms of legal work required and it has been noticed - she nominated me for an excellence award for my work and is always saying how great of an addition I have been to the team. So, I'm wondering - would asking her for a LOR be a good addition to my application package? I work with her on a daily basis, but I didn't know if schools will either take 3 LOR's or if a LOR from a manager versus partner and professor would help or hurt my overall package. I feel like out of the three, she has the most recent interactions with me and works the closest. TIA!

I still haven't gotten to see her yet, and I was planning on going to the zoo Sunday. Does anyone know when she is the most active/visible, specifically in the elephant community center? I went to see the Pandas a few weeks after they arrived last year, and they were inside when I was outside waiting, and then went outside when I was inside (lol). The employees didn't let people swing back around to the exhibit to catch a glimpse, which is understandable for crowd control, but I wanted to make sure that I'll be able to see Linh Mai when I go!

Side note that I live in NW DC close to the zoo so I can always go back if I don't see her this time around, but I wanted to see her when she is little!

Hi! Just wondering if anyone has gone recently and what sort of clothes they have? For context, I range from 4-6, S/M for clothing and 6.5 for shoes. I read that last year they had a ton of things that were bigger sizes so want to see if its worth going 😄 TIA!
