Theory of the 3 walkers of Nauctis

Hey there yall, as your probably saw already the product listing for nauctis have shown there are 3 planeswalkers in the set. Which is a lot! Especially for a set that is yknow underwater with no surface for all our airbreathers, so i figured I would run down my predictions for our (most likely) one returning walker and two new ones! As i think they are not that hard to predict!

Lets start easy with walker 1:

- Kiora

Kiora ofc is desparked, however she was desparked during the mass desparking, which happened when we swapped to only 1 planeswalker per set. Now that we are back to 3 it seems that reality fracture may bring an end to the mass desparking. In kiora's case too it lets our one merfolk (and one waterbreather) shine and fixes the current issue of nahiri waging war on all planeswalkers since kiora is the only zendikar planeswalker still kicking around there and I do not think "nahiri vs kiora" is a big hype event wotc is setting up lol.

Another slam dunk next up walker 2:

- A nauctis human

You have to understand Wotc has a favorite story with new walkers and it is the idea of a walker experiencing something they never have that is entirelly fantastical on another plane. Nauctis has humans who have never been to a surface and have only known the ocean. This is the perfect oppurtunity for them to tell a literal fish out of water story in the future. Expect a normal nauctus human to be a main player in the story who awakens their spark at the very end, spending part of the epilogue / last chapter breathing air openly on solid ground for the first time ever.

Now an oddball but one with real merit next up walker 3:

- the demonic leviathan

Most of you have never heard this name and while i do not think it is this exact character as they are dead i think it is another in it's species. In old lore young nicol bolas as a walker killed a massive ocean faring leviathan that was itself a planeswalker, their fight decimated massive amounts of land, lastes multiple days and created the talon gates. This has long stood in my mind as the proof that true monster monsters can be walkers and despite this we have never seen art of thr leviathan itself. With the insane concept art of a black oozing monster leviathan spoke about in the video when referencing the dark horrors awakening an "apocalyptic event" in nauctis i think its possible an ancient ancient leviathan walker waking up due to the war above could be the central conflict. Slam dunk from all angles of showing us the leviathan (or one of its kind), a true monster walker, and a unique walker that they dont have to keep bringing back multiple times (like most new walkers).

Anyway these are my predictions, curious to see what yall think!.

Theory: Caraboo's Inspiration Identity

Hi there just wanted to throw something out I was thinking about (even though there is not much theory posting on this sub).

Now Caraboo has been pointed out that with her seemingly being a scammer she is almost 100% based on Princess Caraboo (a scammer from real world history) which I fully agree with! However morimens normally still likes to combine some lovecraft in it's awakeners no matter what (example being Hamelin is both the Pied Piper and Azathoth's Brass Pipers)

To start with she is a scammer and in the Morimens world even if it was an april fools joke Hastur was associated with scam emails trying to get silver... along with that we also have other minor references to Hastur all in dubious and seedy places.

I think between her clear inspired sheep design, large staff and even farm animal name she is meant to evoke a shepherd. Hastur before mythos was originally derived from Haita the shepherd. Between this and Sarah having Hastur and Tulu fighting inside her from early descriptions and her evoking one of his other avatars means we should realistically be open to get much more hastur lore and a playable avatar in Arc 2.

Anyway with these things combined I think there is a high chance she is both Princess Caraboo and an Avatar of Hastur (specifically Haita).

Anyway if you see this, thank you for taking the time to read this!

Question about upcoming Aequor

I really want to play with Lemurians.

As of current I am missing Tulu and Gmurphy (unfortunate I know) but thanks to saya's bargain bananza for 3k silver I have a soul rewind sitting around for one of em (maybe... ill touch on that in a second). I just wanted to know if we think we are gonna see Tulu or Gmurphy get their own banner within 60 days (the limit on the ethereal cores i have sitting). If we only get one ill pull them and take the other one with my rewind... but if we think both are coming soon... maybe ill save my rewind for guranteed Gtulu. Anyway sorry for the long question just curious since i do not know how often characters come back.

A Writeup On Rogue's Identity Crisis.

Hi there, I was recently looking at rogue and was reminded once more of DnD's inability to make rogue have a consistent and proper themed identity. In this mini writeup i will touch and briefly hit on three points, rogue's base features, their subclasses and finally the issue with their intended stats, using 2024 for this writeup (though it is worth noting 2014 was much more agregious.)

Now rogue is *not* weak, rogue is very strong and can be fun, but this is more so about the mistakes in rogues base design that have prevented it from getting fun new tools in the future and how wotc stonewalled themselves with rogue.

To start with the "best" part of rogue (at least powerwise): the base features

- expertise: fine enough, while I normally do not think of the rogue archtype being experts in things more so than a wizard is an expert in arcana or a cleric in religion... but its fine enough if not hurting their already cramped power budgets funds.

- sneak attack: a ridiculous bucket of damage and a fine enough ability to portray a rogue, of course the numbers are so high they cannot give rogue any damaging subclass abilities because of it (except one)... hurting the classes subclass creativity by a ridiculous amount, but in a vacuum its a good idea.

- Thieves Cant: this is not a real ability, its a language... maybe if your dm cares to use it (they probably wont)

- weapon mastery: theyre a pure martial ofc they get it, thats just being fair.

- Cunning action: not broken, not eating the rogue power budget too heavily, flavorful, this is the best possible rogue only ability and the only one i have nothing bad to say about.

- steady aim: fine i guess? Its a failsafe for sneak attack but it goes against everything else the class wants between movement and being extremelly bonus action heavy, not amazing. Shouldve just been free and set your speed to 0, no bonus action but...

- cunning strike (and its upgrades): random bloat to make rogues gameplay loop seem more diverse but almost all options and subclass specific options are bad and its still optimal to not spend any damsge dice on these

- uncanny dodge: amazing and unnesecary, it gives so much free damage reduction and rogue getting another random base class feature is why they get no early subclass features especially when following this ability comes...

- evasion: this is one of the classic rogue abilities, another busted strong ability but one that rogues are famous for, having this and uncanny is too much, uncanny is a mistake of a choice to mix with this on a class.

-reliable talent: this is the worst thing wotc ever came up with, game breaking, the strongest ability in dnd hands down, your rogue getting a permenant "i always rolled atleast a 15" is infuriating for everyone at the table and has completely removed the concept of giving rogue power in subclasses because of this. Expertise was a sideeye of an add, this was full blown insanity, reliable talent have made rogues evil skill monkies that can do anything out of combat with no issue.

- slippery mind: its whatever, you can tell they did not know what to give rogue lategame by this point since they already have everything.

- elusive: a third insanely good defensive ability, rogues in the late game are borderline unkillable with how much damage reduction and hard to hit skills they get, insane.

- stroke of luck: bad for level 20, but still a great ability, just a free "i win" button for any role, because they needed more.

Now that we have looked at the base i can speak about the subclasses. Rogue subclasses are not allowed anything, no skill monkey help because of expert and reliable. No extra damage because sneak attack. So what can they get? Nothing abilities and ultra specific weird shit! All of which comes in packages that do not evoke what a "rogue" is in a persons mind, lets take a look at the broad strokes and hoe they fail to be rogues:

- Assassin: is not about assassination, its about... agent 47 pretending to be someone else... like i get sometimes assassins wear disguises but thats not their main gimmick or even what the majority do??

- phantom: your a ghost rogue! Its... ok? The main problem here is that being a ghost rogues main appeal is like picking up things with an unseen hand and being a thief and such... which they have two other classes for... like...

- soulknife: lifting things with your mind is in the same category as phantom exactly, you also get psionic knives a classic fantasy concept i guess? Anyway i have no clue how psionics test so unpopularly in every UA yet always make it to live books, but thats less a rogue problem and a "boring psionic subs are all the same" issue.

- Arcane trickster: what a shame this class is bad numbers wise, because giving rogue spells is a good way to add unique things to them without breaking the powerbudget they overspent! This class also does using mage hand to steal better than phantom and soulknife so good job! Arcane trickster is the only good rogue class thematically!

- thief: is not a thief, its more ninja based all about stealth and climbing buildings, nothing about actually pickpocketing or stealing and only B and E...

- Scion of the three: this class is great! Almost... it lets you double up on sneak attacks and deal extra damage! (The only rogue class to increase damage) and you can teleport, but its also tied to a hyper specific forgotten realms concept and is not broadly easy to use in other games... and it also takes too long to get your good abilities since rogue gets all its subclass abilities later! But a good attempt nonetheless

Finally rogues last misstep, its stat encouragment, the main stat of a rogue is dex! Which is fine! But the second is int? Huh??? Thats not what a rogue is! No one thinks of some calculating book smart nerd! Street smarts are wisdom! They always have been! Your scrappy thieves and assassin are absolutely more wis than int, street urchins cant afford education! But more importantly thats not even the real stat they should have! Everything a rogue wants is charisma! Deception, persuasion, performance, etc! Every rogue in fiction you can think of is probably enough of a liar or suave enough theyre maxxed on charisma! Its *the* rogue stat for sure, why is it not at all what they are built with in mind???

Anyway thats my long rant about how rogue was kind of a design mistake. I will probably play rogue again in the future, they can be great characters (and mechanically they are broken) im just sad they dont fulfill their fantasy better and that they cannot get good subclasses by design. Thank you for making it to the end.

I Saw The TV Glow: A Misunderstood Masterpiece.

Hi there I just recently watched the film "I Saw The TV Glow" for the first time the other night, now over time I have heard it was a trans-allegory and while I think that is partially true, I think there is another more important message to be had in the film. I want to preface this by saying I think if this movie helped you realize you were trans or helped you come out that is fantastic and I do not mean to devalue it. However after seeing every direct interview always refer to it as a "Queer" film in general and finding out the director like myself is Non-Binary I think I have another way of looking at, the way I saw it while watching, that might be closer to what they intended.

To start with the film follows Owen, Who gets swept up in watching a children's TV show that he is lead by a "friend" named Maddy. Now at the start of the film it is made clear that the movie takes place from Owen's narration, we follow him, hear his thoughts and he tells us things directly, no room for ambiguity on his feelings. He begins by recalling how he came to watch the "Pink Opaque" and met Maddy a girl 2 years older than him. Maddy at the very start tells us directly when describing the show and the friend she watches it with that she herself is like "Tara" and her friend is like "isabel". This line has huge implications later on and seems to be mostly forgotten about by people analyzing the movie for some reason.

Now after one small meeting with Maddy our POV in owen does not truly see her again for years, he himself declares he has only spoken to her in 3 or less words in passing and that she leaves him Tapes to watch the show now. He gathers his courage and decides to go see her and ask if he can watch the show in person with her each week... only to find out Maddy's friend (her isabel) has stopped talking to her about a year ago after Maddy made a pass at her. Maddy immediatly confirms in this same scene she herself is a lesbian, she also makes another quick remark about her abusive father (she does this atleast once in every meeting she has with Owen, this will be circled back to for a later point).

After this meeting Owen does show up to watch the episodes with Maddy directly, within only weeks of this meeting Maddy break down watching the show and resolves to run away. Before this she takes Owen and marks him the same mark as the show... and while the scene cuts away after this we find out in a flashback later in the film that Maddy who has only begun speaking to Owen fully weeks prior and aggresively declared she is a lesbian, makes Owen put on a dress and takes his virginity. Within only a year of losing her "isabel" her friend of many years she has taken the only other person she knows and forced them to conform into her favorite fictional character for her own pleasure.

Now Owen winds up not running away and does not see Maddy for years after this, until of course Maddy shows up one day and asks to speak to him. Maddy takes him to a bar where she explains that she was suicidal now before I mention what she did because of this it is important to note, Owen had an abusive household too, Maddy never cares about Owen's trauma or mentions it despite bringing up her own in every scene. Maddy continues that she decided to be buried alive like Tara was in the final episode of the last season of her show. Maddy claims that when she was buried alive she woke up in another world only to find she was in fact Tara and they have both been imprisoned here. She directly tells Owen that he is Isabel and they need to go bury themselves alive however interestingly she never mentions doing this for Owen's sake everytime she says it she says he needs to do it for "her heart", she only off-handidly mentions finding his heart in the freezer of the otherworld, she never says he needs to get his heart . Owen of course runs away from her, to which... he never sees her again after this.

Owen moves on with life, and even in his direct narration to us says he is happy and has a family now that he loves more than anything. We see him watch the show again and how it was never as scary or serious as he imagined, he was just lead astray by Maddy telling him the show was so adult and full of so much dark mythology. But Owen mentions that in the back of his mind he does occasionally have that thought, the "what if she is right and I am Isabel". This culminates in a much older Owen in his 40's having a mental breakdown and commiting self-harm on his own chest to see if he really is Isabel...

Before mentioning what I think the true messaging of this movie is let me reiterate something about Maddy. Maddy is selfish and does everything for herself of course but the most damning thing of all is that she only learned she was "Tara" after her suicidal episode years later. This means when Maddy forced Owen to dress up in a dress like Isabel and have sex with her (while she is 2 years older of course, cannot forget) was not because she thought they were those characters, that came later in her life. Of course we also cannot ignore a line Maddy says at the bar, "back on the bleachers you said you could feel a psychic connection between us" which she coerces Owen into agreeing he said, however if you watch the bleacher scene... he says nothing like that, she directly gaslights him to better convince him he is Isabel.

Now for my conclusion I would like to briefly mention a small tale from my own life: when I was in college i was very queer and very confused and while I eventually found out I was nonbinary for a while I did not know and a couple of Trans friends I knew very heavily tried to convince me I was an egg and I needed to actually come out as a Trans woman... one of these people is someone who also tried convincing me to enter a casual relationship. When I saw the director was Non-Binary and likely also had a confusing time finding their footing, I knew that what I felt watching the movie probably had some truth: this film is about the dangers of egg cracking. It is a movie about how young queer people who do not know what they are yet can meet predatory people looking to mold them into what they want to fill their own void and how even if you remove yourself from those toxic people the scares can last a lifetime. I do not think Owen is trans, Owen never once expresses any interest himself in being Isabel, Owen is certainly Queer but in what form? who knows, it is not out place to know and due to what Maddy implanted for her own missing void we will now never know ourselves. I think this is the most amazing Queer film of all time for showcasing one of the most truly frightening experiences of being queer and how hard it can be to find your own truth when someone just wants to build you for themselves.

Thank you for reading, I am very passionate but not very good at writing so I apologize if it was a hard read at points.

How you keep acting.

Listen im not taking too much of a side here because I do not like *either* version, I think SCP went downhill years ago and its two weird offspring have not done a good job in it's steed. However I will say as someone who does have to casually interact from a distance that both of you have been MAD annoying hating on eachother, and one side is a lot more vocal and lot more pretentious, I recommend thinking about how you look from the outside tearing eachother apart over nothing and having your own fandom be your own biggest haters.

Saw someone do a one piece grid, figured I would make one to.

Could not find the exact one they did with boxes for things like "rivals" but this one works enough.

Funny Games (1997) is the hardest watch I have ever had and not in a good way.

Hello I am making this post today to detail my experience with the 1997 film funny games. If you are at all familiar with the film you might have some indication of what the title is refering too but based on the general online opinion I have seem of this movie I can gurantee you do not know what I mean. For some context I love movies, have since I was young and my highschool best friend and I meet up multiple times a week to watch one or more new movies, We have for about the past 8 years and we have gone through some absolute stinkers and some fanastic films and out of all of them we can both agree this is the single worst film we have ever seen. Funny Games is meant to be a heavy handed metaphor for how film viewers have grown desensitized to violence (and the hypocrisy that we still scoff at sex and the like, along with a few other minor themes) However rather than do anything meaningful with this concept it dithers around, wastes time and leaves a void vacant of what I would actually call a film. The film is meant to follow a family that is "terrorized" by two tourists in their own home, if you looked online you would see people say the film is sick and twisted and a hard watch... none of which is true. The titular "Funny Games" the two tourists peform on the family are asking them incredibly basic questions like "how old are you"... there is no additional gimmick, when the family refuses to answer they do something to them (normally shaking the child or whacking the father in the leg with a golf club, yes you read that correctly that is all they do, at no point is any punishment for not answering worse than either of these two things) now despite the fact the tourists directly say they will not hurt them if they just answer and the family sees that they only get punished when refusing to answer, THE FAMILY STILL REFUSES TO ANSWER EVERYTIME, without fail these people refuse to cooperate in the slightest, resulting in a tedious loop of nothing taking up about 30% of the film. Now this is not the families only lack of survival instinct throughout the film, multiple times the kid and mother/father are left with one assailant who only has a single golf club and no other weapon, yet for whatever reason the mother (even when directly next to the kitchen full of knives) does nothing to try and fight back at all, at one point one of the tourist even says "don't do something stupid and grab a knife" with no other threat or reason not to do that when honestly the tourists have no leverage at all ATP. The one tourist breaks the 4th wall frequently, saying he needs to make the viewers happy and be violent, winking at the camera, etc. yet this epically fails as he never actually does anything, the fact that he won't shut up about needing to fulfill quota's and "can't end it now, the movie needs to be longer to be entertaining and worth a watch" and other fart-sniffing lines, all amount to nothing when again the most depraved thing in the film is him smacking the dad in the leg with a golf club. The movie proceeds to have the most egregious scene in cinema ever later on, if you have seen the movie you may think I mean the remote scene: which I do not as something much more annoying happens beforehand, when the tourists finally do kill one of the family they leave and we are left with the mother and father and then we have to sit for 20 straight minutes as we watch them hobble around trying to get duct tape off of them, this is not a joke or exaggeration, a full 20 minutes of these two bumbling incompitent characters just kinda hopping around trying to free the duct tape of them.... finally when the tourists do come back the woman shoots one and we get the infamous rewind scene where the tourist picks up a remote and rewinds the movie to prevent his friend from being shot, it is annoying only because of how nonsensical it is and the fact the movie wasted more of my time but it is not even one millionth the level of disrespectful the scene of them trying to get the tape off is. Finally the movie ends with them killing the mother and going off to another house, and at the end of it all could I say the movie was worth my time? no, was the message well thought out or executed? no, is this the worst movie ever? no only on the virtue that after the 20 minute long no cuts tape removing scene I do not think this can be considered a movie, it's more like having the dictionary read to you while an offscreen voice whispers "hehe, themes and such...". 0/10.

Help with hair / am i balding

Dont know if this even is MPB, but ive been having issues with my hair the past few years i am in my very early 20s and while i wear my hair in this shitty emo sort of side cut (see first photo) its the only way i can wear it, if i brush my hair back... well you can see in the second photo, now weirdly i see online most people have hair missing in the middle of their head, not right front and center like me, and while it would seem like a hairline issue... i have very small and light strand there, minoxodil has not helped, multiple ointments have not helped, im sick of this stupid style, i just want to grow my hair out and do something cool but no matter what my hair growth stagnates and wont grow (except for the long side part slightly and the back mullet area) please help!

Ok so like the other day on instagram i saw this awesome little comic strip of a goth girl in a hat who gets mistaken for a boy with a large stomach by a mother telling her son not to eat too much, she then lifts up her shirt showing she just has really large sagging breasts. on twitter they had the same comic but she had no bra and there was an extra porn panel of her getting fucked, it ruled but i forgot to save it and cannot find the artist for the life of me, it was a recent comic and even had a sequel of her meeting the boy again posted recently, i just cant find em lol, anyhelp would be appreciated
