To the police officer standing >IN< the bike lane at Spadina and Adelaide having a casual conversation... Why?!

...I started ringing my bell from the other side of the intersection while approaching him - apparently he can't hear (which is also concerning) didn't register me or other people ringing their bells or asking what he was doing... and then I ended up having to go around him. Then he casually saunters off the curb.

Theft Attempt? Loose Saddle at Dundas W LCBO and Roncesvalles

Hello..

I just had a weird occurrence.. I went into the LCBO for less than 5 minutes and then continued south down Roncesvalles, stopping to pick up take out - less than 2 minutes.

When I got back on my bike I noticed my saddle was loose! One of the two screws had the HexLox removed (it was stuck to the side of the saddle) and was very loose! (I just tightened it again)...

I don't think this happened mistakenly over time... It seems like it was a theft attempt... The weird part being - I was really quick! And I didn't notice anyone around or near my bike.. at all!

Hmmmmm

Please Recommend - Your Ultimate Cargo Platform Features (For 3D Printed Surface)

I am moving along with optimizing my new cargo bike platform - I was wondering what features / considerations you might suggest for the ultimate rack cover / base - See attached photo with dimensions.

The main issue I solved Day1 was to protect the load (my backpack) from the spinning wheel below. Solved that pretty easily but imagined allowing / having various attach points - integrating my Invoxia Tracker (green dashed) and potentially hiding spools of webbing (with Austere Clips) within for easy securing of any load large or small. Ideally the base platform is completely flat / flush, we have about 1" + of depth to play with overall dims are roughly 14.5" x 18.5" (see picture). Any hardware would be secured with HexLox Anti Theft.

[EST/Toronto] Looking for chill friends for island tours, concept visioning, and design critiques!

Hey everyone,

I am Flip from Knot Island (playing in the America/Toronto timezone). I am looking to make some new friends to hang out with, trade, and most importantly, geek out over island design.

My playstyle leans heavily into the master-planning / experiential side of things, treating my island like a digital zen garden. As an architect in real life, my personal design philosophy in-game is definitely "less is more".

Here is what I am hoping to find and offer:

Show and Tell. Touring each other's islands, sharing our concepts, and seeing how our layouts develop over time.

Visioning and Concept Development. If you are in the early days of your build and want to bounce ideas around, I'd love to help set your vision in motion!

Constructive Critiques. Totally open to giving and receiving design critiques to help us both push our islands to the next level.

Trading: Always down to trade as needed, and I always make an effort to bring along a gift from your wishlist when I visit!

If you want to get a feel for my style before we connect, feel free to check out my Dream Addresses:

Knot Island: DA-9378-1292-0495

Pebble Island: DA-9391-7312-4821

Drop a comment or send me a DM if this sounds like your kind of gameplay!

Cargo Bike + GO Bus Rack - Will It Fit?

Hello!

I know I should probably just give it a try to find out, but I was wondering if others may have experience regarding the securing of a cargo bike to the GO Bus front rack. Will it work?

My first thought was that I am out of luck, that top piece that comes down to secure the front wheel obviously won't work because of the lower wheel and rack in the way.. but can I not just turn it around - such that this latch comes down on the exposed / full sized rear wheel?

Next question would be the width, might not work if it hits the adjacent rack - and of course if other bikes are being loaded - I might need to wait for the next bus until its just me loading up? hmm

My route is Lakeshore West to Burlington and the bus section is Burlington to Grimsby (Casablanca). The other thought was to just bike Burlington to Grimsby ha.

Skilled Local Bike Mechanic Required For Custom Build, Dream Bike Materializing...

Happy Sunday morning,

TLDR: I require a skilled local bike mechanic in Toronto to combine my RedFox Cycles Tractor Fork to my incoming Cannondale Treadwell 2 LTD (Large) base bike. Does anyone locally specifically focus on cargo bikes or custom builds? This will involve swapping the fork itself, but mounting the hydraulic brakes to the new fork (convertor for international mounts / new lines required) etc.

-

I have recently done a deep spring cleaning via Konmari method and its having amazing effects on my life. Passing on old projects and restarting ones that really matter.

I have been wanting to build a " Clydesdale-Mini" Commuter Bike for the past three years since moving back to Toronto. I am an avid cyclist / commuter but after my beloved VanMoof was stolen and trashed in Calgary (managed to recover the husk), I have fallen back to my tried and true fixed gear conversion. Its super reliable and always there for me .. but it is very dangerous for city riding re: racing posture, thin wheels (streetcar tracks) etc. For this reason I haven't been riding nearly as much as I used to and have fallen back to City Bike as my main option. I have imagined my dream bike and I am very close to making it a reality, acquiring the two main pieces needed to get me going. Now I am in search of a skilled bike mechanic who can bring it all together.

*Looking for all suggestions on local mechanics - and not necessarily on the design / vision of my dream bike.

Seeking Blossom Branch Clipping for Dinner Party This Evening.

Hello and good evening fellow Roncesvalle Neighbours,

I am having some friends over this evening for dinner and drinks before we head out to an event. I have everything prepared EXCEPT I have this vision, the center piece, a blossom branch (pear or cherry). I searched the open produce shops on Roncesvalles but came up short. I am desperate and considered clipping a street tree but it just isn't right not to mention illegal... but I thought this is the realistic middle ground! Can anyone in the area offer me a plump branch clipping of their own tree?! I have a gift in exchange (🥂)!

<3

DM me your address and I can pop over.
