Best gigging schedule as a really small up-and-coming band?

Hey everyone! Very quick backstory, I (19M) started my band in 2023 and in those past three years, I‘ve only managed to pull together four gigs (hard to find gigs when your band is a revolving door of broke early 20-something’s) and only one of them was at an actual venue. In short, my band has close to zero recognition in my city’s local music scene, and I really want to make up for lost time, especially with how big some of the other local bands are getting now.

The problem is is that I‘ve heard a ton of conflicting advice on what do to gigging-wise. For years I‘ve watched videos and been told by my musician mentors about how a lot of really successful bands used to play gigs every other night and working their asses off to make a name for themselves in their early days (Beatles, Rush, Ramones, Metallica, etc). However, I’ve also heard newer musicians online say that you should prioritize only 1-2 gigs a month and market the hell of that one show so as to not oversaturate the market. So currently I’m at a bit of a crossroads: my gut tells me it’s better to do a shit ton of shows, follow in the footsteps of successful rockstars, and make up for lost time; but I wonder how much truth there is to the 1-2 gigs a night method, and that my lack of experience here might fuck me over by doing the opposite.

Any thoughts? Currently the band is solid and rebuilding itself so we’re headed for playing gigs relatively soon.

Seattle Eastside Band Seeking Drummer (ROCK/METAL)

Hey everyone! My band Blood Rising is looking to get back in action with a drummer to complete our lineup. We're a young (late teens-early twenties) group based in the Seattle Eastside area. We have a couple of gigs and a ton original music under our belt, and our focus is to ramp that up even more. Our sound mixes hard rock, heavy metal, groove metal, and sprinklings if early punk (influenced by QOTSA, Pantera, Metallica, CKY, Black Sabbath).

We have a practice space with a drum kit. If interested, please contact us, and I can send some demos of our current songs.

How strict are height requirements for professional photo shoots usually? (BEGINNER)

Hello there! A lot of the other subreddits I tried had weird mod rules and such, so I kinda ended up here. I (19M) have been told by multiple people for years that I should take up male modeling and I have a pretty decent portfolio, however so many of the modeling agencies/job opportunities, especially around my area, list a height requirement of 6’0” and above. For context I’m 5’10”, so I’m not even really short but I’m just a bit under the minimum.

I already searched around on the internet to see if this was a dealbreaker and most answers gave me dumb watered-down AI responses that never gave me a solid answer. If my height is truly something that would be impossible in this field, I get it, but I want to get a more solid answer than undecided internet fluff. I’m fairly young and I’m just trying to figure out what I‘m going to make of myself, so any help is appreciated.

I know this is necessarily a photography question per se, but I hoping some model/photoshoot photographers might have some insider knowledge. Thanks!

I've Seen This Done by Others Before, so Here's My Take on If The Teams in Each Major Sports City Shared the Same Colorway

A few people have mentioned what it would be like if all the pro-level teams in the same city shared the same team colors, just like how all Pittsburgh teams share black and yellow. While my isn't perfect, but this is my best attempt. The colors include:

Altanta: Black, Red, and White; the Falcons and Hawks share pretty the same exact colorway, so I just followed suit with the Braves as well.

Baltimore: Black, Purple, Gold, White; it turns out Gold-colored Oriole birds do exist and are common enough, so they get the Ravens colors.

Boston: Red, Navy, Silver, White; this is the hardest city due to the Pats and Celtics culturally-significant colors, but I can't imagine having the Red Sox be green so the Pats colors it is.

Buffalo: Red, Blue, White; the Bills and Sabres colors are already similar, just replace the Sabs yellow with red, pretty easy.

Charlotte/Raleigh: Black, Light Blue, White; the Canes having blue makes too much sense and the Hornets colors honestly don't change too much, so everyone getting the Panthers colors works well.

Chicago: Orange, Navy, White; I tried hard to avoid any of the midwestern cities sharing colors, so I decided to go with the Bears colors.

Cincinnati: Black, Red, White; I know tigers aren't red, but having the team called the Reds have orange jerseys doesn't sit right, so red Bengals it is (plus it actually looks pretty cool like that).

Cleveland: Black, Orange, White; I'm bending the rules a bit here, since although I'm giving the other teams the Browns colors, their colorways won't feature brown both to make the Browns unique and because orange and brown together kinda looks ugly (sorry Browns fans).

Dallas: Black, Green, White; the Stars colorway is just the best imo.

Denver: Burgundy, Steel Blue, White; the Avs colors are also just the best.

Detroit: Black, Red, White; second tiger team to turn red, but I can't really have the Red Wings not be red.

Houston: Orange, Navy, White; Astros colors are just peak.

Indianapolis: Blue, Silver, White; trading in the Pacers yellow with the Colts white.

Kansas City: Red, Yellow, White; the Cheifs just have the better color of the two.

Las Vegas: Black, Silver, White; Silver State gets the Raiders silver.

Los Angeles 1: Yellow, Blue, White; I just think these colors worked the best overall.

Los Angeles 2/Anaheim: Teal, Purple, White; OG Ducks colors are GOATed, nuff said.

Miami: Orange, Aqua, White; gotta give the colorway to the only 17-0 NFL team, c'mon now.

Minnesota: Yellow, Purple, White; this was the hardest out of all the cities, but the purple and yellow contrast the other midwestern cities better than Twins, T-Wolves or Wild colors.

Milwaukee/Green Bay: Mustard Yellow, Hunter Green, White; the Packers are the biggest team from those two cities, can't really change them.

Nashville: Red, Light Blue, Navy, White; the Titans looked dumb with the Preds yellow, so changed the Preds.

New Orleans: Black, Old Gold, White; the Pelicans practically had the same colors as the Saints, just adjusted them to be the same.

New York 1: Red, Navy, White; the Giants and Rangers share the same colorway, make the Yankees and Nets follow suit.

New York 2: Orange, Blue, White: pretty just changed the Jets to have the same blue and orange as the other three.

Philadelphia: Black, Midnight Green, Silver, White; the Eagles colors are the most iconic.

Phoenix: Black Sedona Red, Teal; Dbacks colors are also GOATED.

Sacramento/San Jose: Purple, Silver; I know the Sharks are technically a Bay area team, but I kinda wanted to group the non-SF teams together, and I prioritized purple over another blue team.

Salt Lake City: Black, Light Blue, Purple, White; the Mammoth and Jazz already share the same colors outside of purple, so give the Mammoth purple too.

San Diego: Sushine Yellow, Powder Blue, White; bring back the Chargers to SD, cement their iconic colors.

San Francisco: Black, Burgundy, Gold, White; the 49ers colors are too iconic.

St. Louis: Red, Yellow, Blue, White; give the Blues their old logo, problem solved (plus a primary colorway).

Seattle: Red, Light Blue, Blue, Dark Navy; as a Seattle native, the Kraken just have the most GOATed colors, and I'm tired of pretending their not.

Tampa: Yellow, Navy, White; I love the Bucs old Creamsicle colorway, but the Rays colors looks so cool on the Bucs so their colorway wins.

Toronto: Sky Blue, Blue, White; as much as I love the Raptors OG colorway, having purple Blue Jays seems wrong, so blue wins.

Washington DC: Red, White, Blue; idk why the Commanders haven't hopped on the DC patriotic colorway, this just makes more sense.

Vancouver: Red, Cyan, Brown; give Vancouver the Grizzlies back and spice the Cancucks colorway with the Grizz colors.

It ain't perfect, but overall it's the best options for each.

I beat Punch Out Wii no damage for the first time

Reddit wouldn't let me upload every screenshot of the results, so here's all of them here. Had a fun time doing this challenge, I'd never even beaten TD Mr. Sandman on other save files so this was my first time beating him and no damage noless. And funnily enough on the game's birthday, haha

Matt Deis on recent CKY Merch Site

Noticed two different pictures featuring Matt Deis were posted on the band’s new merch page. Normally I would chalk this all up to outdated pictures being posted by the website designer, but Chad and Jess are seemingly pretty strict about any current press showcasing them as a duo.

Is this just the band using old photos or is Deis potentially coming back? As much as that would be cool, I’d be pretty shocked since it’d be his third tenure with the band plus he’s been doing well with All That Remains and BabyMetal 🤷‍♂️
