Flights Logged… something eye opening here 👀

Barometric Pressure & "Flights Climbed" Anomalies

The barometric pressure theory stems directly from how Apple devices track elevation changes:

The Mechanism: iPhones and Apple Watches do not use GPS to count flights of stairs. Instead, they use an internal barometric altimeter to detect changes in atmospheric pressure. The system registers 1 flight of stairs when it detects a continuous pressure drop equivalent to roughly 10 feet (3 meters) in elevation gain, combined with the rhythmic motion of walking.

Commercial HVACS & Pressure Doors: Large retail spaces like CVS pharmacies feature heavy automatic double doors, commercial HVAC air locks, and pressurized entryways. Passing through these doorways or moving between a sealed outdoor environment and a high-pressure commercial interior can trigger a brief, sudden drop/spike in localized barometric pressure.

When comparing the court evidence from the CVS surveillance video with the digital testimony given by the Cellebrite forensics expert (Ian Whiffin), the exact minutes match up directly:

1. The Recorded CVS Timeline vs. Apple Health

CVS Surveillance Video: Store security footage confirmed Patrick entered the CVS at 5:32:32 p.m., spent a few minutes in the children's medication aisle (Aisle 20), paid, and exited the store at 5:37:08 p.m.
Apple Health Logged Event: The Cellebrite expert testified that Lindsay's iPhone recorded a stair-climb event with a start timestamp of 5:33:34 p.m. and an end timestamp of 5:38:33 p.m.

The Five-Minute Span: The expert explained in court that Apple Health logged two distinct elevation shifts ("flights") within that exact ~5-minute window and grouped them into one single entry spanning 5:33 to 5:38 p.m.

2. How the Alignment Supports the Theory

If Patrick was holding or carrying her iPhone/Apple Watch while running his errand:

1. The Entry Spike (~5:33 p.m.): Patrick walked into the CVS at 5:32:32 p.m. Moving through the pressurized double doors or vestibule of the CVS while walking triggers an immediate shift in atmospheric pressure. The iPhone's barometric altimeter registers this pressure drop as a "flight climbed" at 5:33:34 p.m.

2. The Exit Spike (~5:38 p.m.): Patrick exited the CVS at 5:37:08 p.m. Passing back through the commercial airflow and entry doors to the outside environment triggers the second barometric pressure change, logging the second "flight" at 5:38:33 p.m.

3. The Watch & Heart Rate Factor: The digital expert confirmed that these two 5:33–5:38 p.m. flight-climb events were logged only on the iPhone, not on the Apple Watch (which had already ceased recording heart rates at 5:23 p.m.).

Because Apple Health aggregates barometric changes detected over short periods, the 5:32:32 p.m. entry and 5:37:08 p.m. exit times from the CVS cameras create an exact 1-to-1 mirror for the 5:33:34 p.m. to 5:38:33 p.m. Apple Health entry. Rather than representing someone walking up and down stairs inside the home during those 5 minutes, the forensic footprint strongly supports physical movement through the pressurized entrance of a retail store while holding the device.

4. How the Watch Syncs Data to the iPhone
If an Apple Watch is taken off a wrist but carried around while turned on, it continues to gather motion and elevation data:

Background Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Sync: The Apple Watch continuously syncs its cached sensor logs to the paired iPhone in the background.

The "Primary Source" Hierarchy: In the Apple Health app, both the iPhone and the Apple Watch have internal barometric altimeters that record "Flights Climbed". Apple Health aggregates this data to avoid double-counting. If a person is holding both devices or moving with the watch, Apple Health attributes the elevation change to whichever device it considers the primary data source for that timeframe - or logs it as a combined event on the iPhone's Health app.

PC… theory and motive.

I’m just posting this here. There’s evidence to support each point in this theory, and I can add that later on. But just my immediate thought after today.

This is based on objective behavioural analysis, with PC potentially presenting as someone with narcissistic qualities. This is theory follows a known and predictable pattern within ABA for this category of people. This is not a subjective theory of emotional response - aka, you could remove the names and the additional context related to this specific situation event and the pattern would remain applicable to actions/events carried out by this sub-type.

I am not claiming this as fact. This is a theory.

For context, I hold a Masters in Applied Behavioural Analysis and a Bachelor of Psychological Science and Criminology.

PC planned this family inhalation to begin in ‘new life’ with his now new wife (NW).

I think he planned on keeping the Callan and Cora alive, and taking them with him to start his new life. He could have considered Callan ‘too young to remember anything’, and able to bond with NW and see her as his mother. PC seemed to have a soft spot to Cora, and may have thought she would also be able to bond with NW. She may have also been more susceptible to believing negative stories about LC to sever the emotional ties and transplant that desire for a mother figure into NW.

Dawson seemed to be a strong willed and defiant (aka, a regular little boy and middle child) which PC may have then viewed as a ‘challenge’ to his new and perfect life. So Dawson became his victim.

Hence why Dawson was in a different room. He was murdered first, LC was drugged.

The plan being ‘I returned home and I found my son dead and my wife overdosed and killed herself, but I have to remain strong for my two children’ before eventually moving forward publicly with NW.

However his meticulous plan began to deviate, and he became erratic.

While at the store, he saw on the Apple Health app that two flights of stairs were logged. Cora must have grabbed LC’s phone and was carrying it around. This messes up his plan, LC is meant to be dead. He calls, no one answers. He uses the Apple Watch to call himself back for a short phone call to establish an alibi. Phone records show it had not been unlocked past around 5:13pm. The call back could not have come from the iPhone. To return a missed call, the phone needs to be unlocked.

He runs back home, leaving his car at the store, and heads directly upstairs to LC. She may be somewhat awake or be unconscious but still has a detectable heart rate. He becomes erratic. He knows Dawson is already dead and SOMEONE needs to be blamed. So starts attempting method after method (cutting, strangulation with scarf, etc). LC regains some consciousness during the attack but the heavy sedation makes it near impossible to defend herself. The door is locked, so she tries to escape via the window. She falls, is unconscious, PC assumes she must now be dead or nearing it.

His plan could’ve ended there, but he realised Cora had seen her dad return home, had overheard the commotion, and is old enough to recall these memories if needed in an investigation. Now Cora has to go, and it doesn’t make sense to leave Callan. So now, they must all go.

He didn’t plan that part. He hadn’t prepared his mind.
There’s hesitation. There’s ’heartbreak’.

He runs back to the store/restaurant to pick up food. He seems slightly more twitchy in this CCTV video, and the Apple Watch can not be seen. He checks home surveillance footage to confirm LC is still motionless on the ground. There’s slight movement, but surely she’ll pass. Better have an alibi just incase… ‘she told me this and this’. Perfect. Time to go home, turn on the theatrics and finish the plan.

I don’t doubt he was emotional on the 911 call when ‘finding’ Cora and Callan, as he didn’t plan on them being victims. However, he did not try CPR… even if he knew it wouldn’t work. You don’t exactly posses logic in moments like that. He didn’t pull them into his arms and hold them. He sat on the couch. That, for me, says enough.

Congratulations on your new life, PC. I hope it is everything you deserve and more.

Best op shop for books?

Hi friends!

I’m wanting to go on an op shop crawl to try and find some classics (fiction, plays and philosophy), and would love some suggestions of op shops where they’re actually reasonably priced and/or often have a decent collection!

I’m based in West End, though am happy to travel if there’s a few in the same area 🥰

Advice on what to do right after they’re gone?

Hi friends 🤍

I’ll be saying goodbye to my soul dog on Monday. While I’m absolutely shattered, my soul knows it is what is best for him and is at peace.

My question is, what do you do right afterwards?

It’s just me and my dog. Single, minimal family support, best friend of 10 years ended the friendship last week as this was ‘too much for her’. I’d originally hoped we’d be able to have the procedure in the evening and I could take some sleeping medication right after to put myself straight to bed.

But it’s happening at 11am, in our home.

I dealt with a similar but different loss 2 years ago, but I still had him and there was still so much to do the rest of that day. I honestly can’t remember much, but I do remember the moment that evening when I realised just how quiet the house was. No more quiet than the night before when they were there and asleep, yet I’d never heard silence quite that loud - and I collapsed and cried for hours.

I’m terrified of that feeling again on Monday.

I know it’ll get better, and I’m not worried about myself once I get moving again… but I’m so alone in this, and I don’t know what to do for the immediate grief of experiencing a truly empty home for the first time in my life.

Any suggestions or stories of how you handled that immediate grief would be greatly appreciated 🤍

Who is Mina?! 2yo suddenly calling out for her endlessly.

I’m looking after my friends foster bub for the night, and she mentioned that recently he had started calling out for ‘Mina’ - which I’ve witnessed tonight.

Asking where Mina is, yelling her name, speaking baby gibberish at an open window until I closed it, saying ‘Mina’ when he looks in mirrors, etc.

I can’t seem to pick up on her, though I may try channeling once he’s asleep for the night.

Unfortunately as he’s in care, we’re unsure about any family history that might help connect the dots.

What’s something you think would make a beautiful name… if it didn’t have real word meaning?

I think Israel/Israeli and Isis would make beautiful names but.. yeah 😂

Middle names for Esme?

Hi there!

Surname: George

I’ve loved the names Esme and Lucille since I was a child, and adore Esme Lucille for my first baby girl… but I’m torn as I don’t want to lose Lucille (Lucy/Lulu) if I had a second baby girl 😅

But I’m struggling to find a middle name for Esme that I love just as much, and that flows well. And also a middle name for Lucille that fits the ‘vibe’.

Any suggestions?

Hi there!

I’m in the middle of purchasing a car from a friend, and we’re both a bit clueless when it comes to cars.

She had a pre purchase check done a few months ago when she first decided to sell the car, and was going to get RWC done once sale was impending.

So I’m needing to get a RWC, but there’s also a few things I’ve noticed (CV joint/axel and potentially oil leaking into combustion chamber?) that we’d like to get double checked as they weren’t flagged on the initial pre purchase check.

I figure this would require me going into a shop to get the car off the ground, rather than having a mobile mechanic come out - so would love any recommendations for decently priced and honest/transparent mechanics around the West End area.

Thank you in advance!

Hi friends!

I have this air fryer / oven that I’m trying to figure out how to clean the interior of… any recommendations?

Hi friends!

I’m in an old build apartment, and I have these vents throughout the apartment. They would’ve been installed originally due to (what used to be) a fireplace and gas stove, however now there is no legal requirement for them to be there or be uncovered.

The vents open into hollow walls with parallel vent on the outside side of the hollow walls that leads outside. Terribly explained but I hope that makes sense 😅

Because of this, these vents feed endless dust, dirt and debris (+ bugs) into my apartment.

I’ve looked up vent cover options but can’t find any simple ones that would fit. Walls are concrete so I can’t easily attach something. I’ve resorted to covering the vents in my bedroom with painters tape.

I’ve been here 1.5 years and plan on staying for a while longer, though there will soon be a demolition/construction next door that I’m positive will only add to the crap that’s coming through the vents 😅

Any ideas on how I can cover them besides painters tape?
