I CANNOT stand the in-store radio at the 7-Eleven I work at. The "quirky" ad reads are annoying, and the repetition at which they play gives me a monstrous headache. Especially the recent FIFA themed ones. My disinterest in the event aside, whoever thought up these ads needs to go back to the drawing board because holy fuck are they irritating. And that's only half of my problem with it. The music they play is, 90% of the time, terrible. It's the same ten or so artists, and sometimes the song that already played 10 minutes ago will REPEAT SEVERAL TIMES. If I have to hear Dance Monkey one more time, I will lose my mind. I got lucky for about 3 weeks because it had been turned off for an unexplainable reason, but once a corporate rep came in and saw that it was off, my moment of peace was over. Do other 7-Eleven employees feel the same way?

I made this in canva while drunk. Please forgive me.
I work for a popular chain of convenience stores. I'll let you take a wild guess which one it is to avoid getting caught by corporate. Yesterday, I was given the go-ahead by my manager to decorate our windows with art for pride month. I live in a right-leaning semi-rural/suburban small town that resides in an otherwise progressive state. I spent about an hour and a half on it, and was really proud of myself. I'm normally not very good at art, but I managed to make something decent. It was a multitude of different pride flags (bi, lesbian, non-binary, queer, intersex, trans, pan, etc.) surrounding the words "Happy Pride Month". Another window just said "Love Prevails" in rainbow colored letters, and the last one was a rainbow-themed assortment of the specialty drinks that our chain of stores is known for, along with the phrase "All Flavors Welcome". I got some shit for it from a few customers, but I didn't care. I was happy with my work, and all I wanted was to make others happy from seeing it.
Today, to my disappointment, I clocked into my shift and saw that most of my work had been erased. The only one left was the drink-themed one. According to my coworker, my manager had received a notification from a higher-up that said she needed to remove the art immediately, but was told to leave the drink one as it aligned with what was deemed "appropriate" by corporate. The only one that didn't outwardly mention pride was the one that got to stay. I'm severely discouraged by this, but I know there's probably nothing I can do to fight against it. Has anyone experienced something similar to this?
I'm gonna fuckin' pre, dude.
I just got done watching NTBTSTM after awaiting my pre-ordered copy of the Blu-ray. I wasn't able to see it in theaters in time because, to be honest, when the film was initially released, I had no idea what the hell it was all about. I wanted to watch the show first because I had never heard of NTB until I'd seen the trailers. To preface, I'm a huge Back to the Future fan, so seeing anything remotely to do with the trilogy piques my interest. Because of this, I went down a rabbit hole I never saw coming. I went to extensive lengths to get a bootleg of the show and had to actually buy my own dvd player to watch it on. I binged both seasons and the online series in a day, and I absolutely love it. It was incredibly satisfying from start to end, and I was in stitches all throughout. The minute the pre-order for the film went live, I bought a copy. The wait felt like an eternity, and I watched it the second it landed on my doorstep. I'm devastated that I never got the chance to see it on the big screen because it was phenomenal in every sense of the word. It was a comedy powerhouse, but I also found myself tearing up at a number of scenes. I'm so glad this subreddit exists because I have no one else in my life to talk about this with. If there was a discord, I'd join immediately! Overall, I just wanted to gush about my journey to this point and how much I loved the movie. It's become one of my top 5 all-time favorites.
I'm really happy with how it's turned out. I'd really like to get a proper shelf so I can grow the collection. I'd eventually like to make a display that feels like a little blockbuster in my own home.
