Insomniac ruined superhero games

I’m gonna be honest… I feel like insomniac ruined superhero games. I remember back in the 2000s, we used to get so many peak super hero games. Spiderman 2, web of shadows, shattered dimensions, origins Wolverine, marvel ultimate alliance, etc. Then when insomniacs Spiderman came out, we stopped getting as many superhero games.

Instead, all we got were copy/paste of the insomniac games. Look. I’ll be real. Marvels Spiderman was good but it doesn’t hold a candle to what came before. And each marvels Spiderman game got progressively worse and now Wolverine seems to be the culmination of all the bad decisions. It’s just so sanitised and bland and goofy when Wolverine should be dark and gritty. What do you all think?

While everyone plays marvels Wolverine, I will be playing a better game

The new Wolverine game is looking like a massive flop. Stealth mechanics when Wolverine spends most his time fighting people face-to-face, awful looking character models and weird Wolverine/jean grey romance. It looks like another boring insomniac game without any of the grit we expect from Wolverine.

People forget that we already have the perfect Wolverine game. Xmen origins Wolverine. It was brutal, it was fun and it had peak Hugh Jackman Wolverine in it. People forget man.

GTA 6 marketing hidden in plain sight!

In the first trailer of GTA 6? Lucia asks Jason “Trust?” And he responds with “trust”. This is rockstar telling us that we can TRUST them even though there’s no more trailers. Even though there’s no gameplay. We just gotta let em cook and trust that rockstar knows what they’re doing.

People need to stop pretending they have lives in regards to GTA 6

I keep hearing people be condescending when it comes to GTA 6, saying it’s too expensive and whatever that they have other expenses. But here’s the thing… do any of those expenses really matter compared to GTA 6??? If I’ve got bills to pay or other payment obligations, I’ll say screw that, but GTA 6 and figure it out later. GTA 6 matters more than all that stuff because it’s the pinnacle of gaming

I’ve even seen people mock people for saying they’ll take time off to play GTA 6… because they value their job?? Are you seriously saying you’d rather sit in a booth all day doing mundane meaningless work instead of playing peak?? That sad as hell or disingenuous because there’s no way. I’m lucky because I’m unemployed so I can just play GTA 6 all day everyday without having to worry about that stuff

I don’t considered GTA 5 fans as true GTA fans

As the title says, I don’t consider GTA 5 fans as true GTA fans because they just followed the latest trend. They also likely care more about GTA online than the singleplayer component and haven’t even bothered trying out the older more superior games.

To them, GTA is just goofy and fun and childish with bright colours and explosions but little do they know that prior to GTA 5, we had mature stories. They’ll never know because they’re only interested in playing GTA 5 and nothing else.

While I’ve never played GTA 4 or any of the GTA’s that came before it, I’ve seen plenty of video essays to understand that those games were far better. GTA 4 was dark and gritty and rockstar has been too scared to do anything like that again because their new target audience is MCU fans.

GTA 6 isn’t dark and gritty like GTA 4

I know people are hyped for GTA 6 but honestly, I’m already let down. You’d think after the colossal failure that was GTA 5, they’d go back to the dark and gritty vibes that was GTA 4… but boy was I wrong. All I see is bright colours, neon lights, purple colour scheme, etc. On top of that, the game is a love story which isn’t dark and gritty enough to warrant a mature story like GTA 4.

If I was rockstar, I would get rid of the bright colours and make GTA 6 super grey and bleak. I’ll also add the PS3 era piss filter to make the game darker and grittier. I’ll also get rid of Jason and Lucia and bring back Niko Bellic to be the protagonist and tell a new story about his PTSD.

Is Leslie Benzies the greatest video game developer of all time?

When you look at Leslie Benzies body of work, there is a strong case to make that he’s the greatest game developer of all time. Yet for whatever reason, he’s never brought up amongst the other greats like Hideo Kojima and Masahiro Sakurai.

He was responsible for bringing GTA to 3D and creating GTA 3. The game that changed open world gaming forever. On top of that, he was responsible for the idea behind GTA online. The element that helped take rockstar to new heights and make them more successful than ever. The element that made GTA 5 one of the best selling games of all time by a landslide. Afterwards, he went on to make his own studio with BARB where he released Mindseye and is currently working on everywhere and while things haven’t gone smoothly, the ideas he presents for these projects are very impressive and when that vision is fulfilled, I feel we may have the next big gaming juggernaut in our hands.

I don’t need to take a day off for GTA 6. I’m unemployed

I keep hearing people online saying they will take days off from work to play GTA 6. Well… jokes on them! I don’t need to do that because I’m unemployed!! I can sit down for 10 hours a day and play GTA 6 until I finish it

Say what you want about Ubisoft, at least they’re more pro-consumer than Rockstar

As you’re aware, Rockstar has gone off the rails with their greed. Selling GTA 6 for $80 and locking whole areas of the map behind a $100 ultimate edition is absolutely awful and on top of that, they are not releasing a physical copy of the game at all! One of the best things about a rockstar release was getting the cool map that came with the game in the box and now that is gone! At this point, GTA 6 isn’t worth it at all. Charging $80 for an incomplete version of the game that you don’t even own. It just feels corporate and greedy.

Assassins creed Black flag remake shows that at least Ubisoft cares about its consumers. They heard the backlash from the GTA 6 release and gave us exactly what we asked for. A complete game for a normal price at $70 and a physical disk with a map included. They are doing what Rockstar refuses to do. I can guarantee you the end product of the game will also be much better as GTA 6 has all the signs to be the next gaming disaster like cyberpunk 2077. I will stand on my values when it comes to gaming and will NOT be purchasing GTA 6 and will use that money to buy black flag remake instead.

Blood of Dawnwalker will be the next big AAA flop

Lord of the rings: Gollum, The day before, Concord, Mindseye. This is a list that Blood of dawnwalker will likely join. It even follows the same formula as Mindseye. Former developers from a massively popular game leave their original studio to create a new studio and a spiritual successor to that said game with heaps of red flags in all the preview materials. In the end, Mindseye was a disappointing shell of a game that couldn’t come close to the quality of GTA 5. I feel like Dawnwalker will be no different.

As for the red flags… Firstly, the game looks like a copy of Witcher 3. On top of that, what we’ve seen looks really rough. The graphics don’t hold up to other modern games. Compare Dawnwalker’s graphics to something like horizon forbidden west and it’s kinda sad. The animations also look really stiff and the gameplay looks completely unfun. For a $70 game, the developers have no excuse. We deserve better as gamers

Me when someone says GTA 5 is better than GTA 4

I can’t believe some people say GTA 5 is better than GTA 4!! GTA 4 is very dark and gritty while GTA 5 is kiddie and colourful. GTA 4 was made for mature audiences while GTA 5 was made for children!!

GTA 5 live-action film fancast

If they make a live-action GTA 5 film, who would you like to play each of the main characters. I’ve made my own fancast here

Top 10 reasons why GTA 4 is better than GTA 5

  1. It’s dark and gritty while GTA 5 is colourful and kiddie
  2. It’s a mature story while GTA 5 caters to babies
  3. Niko Bellic is the most relatable GTA protagonist since the majority of the world population consists of Eastern Europeans who have PTSD from army service
  4. The game has the mid-2000s piss filter so it makes it feel more dark and gritty
  5. The driving and physics are more realistic while GTA 5’s driving is designed for babies
  6. The game has less clothing options than GTA 6’s ultimate edition… but at least all the clothing options are dark and gritty
  7. The game has singleplayer DLC while rockstar was too greedy to give us any for GTA 5
  8. It had a better online mode. There might’ve been less content but at least there were no micro transactions and it was dark and gritty
  9. You can get a girlfriend and go on date which is far more achievable in the game than in the real world
  10. Did I mention it was more dark and gritty?

The problem with the Zelda franchise

So as you’re probably aware, the Zelda franchise is in a strange position as the fanbase is more divided than ever. Because BOTW and TOTK sold well, Nintendo thinks the right thing to do going forward is to continue with the open world formula but what they’re ignoring is that this is not what the Zelda fanbase wants.

Prior to BOTW, the Zelda community was in a much better place. While each game had its differences, the core elements of what made a Zelda game a Zelda game still carried over with each entry and as a result, every new entry was positively received. However, Nintendo had other plans for the franchise. They wanted to branch out and capture new fans so they followed the gaming trends of the time and made the game open world, abandoning the linear storytelling, item-based progression and dungeon quality that made Zelda games so beloved. This formula change proved to be successful as they brought in a bunch of new fans but one problem was created… the core zelda fanbase was not satisfied.

Now, Nintendo is making the mistake by catering only to these newer Zelda fans and ignoring the original core zelda fanbase who have been very vocal in their desires to have a new core zelda experience. What Nintendo doesn’t realise is that the BOTW hype will die down and all the new fans will move on to the next flavour of the month but the fans that will remain are the core Zelda fans. By not giving us another traditional Zelda game, they are scaring away all the original Zelda fans and they will be left with nothing.

Assassin’s Creed was never good

Despite Ubisoft’s bad track record, I’m seeing people excited for the black flag remake even though it’s glaringly obvious that they will butcher it. Their argument is always “but black flag was a great game and Ubisoft will do fine as long as they copy it and improve the graphics” but tbh Black Flag isn’t that good either. As a matter of fact, Ubisoft was never good. They’ve been making mid af games since as long as I can remember.

Even the non-RPG era was mid… You could find better stealth mechanics in MGS or Dishonoured, better parkour in Uncharted and a better open world in Red Dead Redemption.

The RPG era then came and made things 10x worse. Origins and Odyssey were two of the worst games I’ve ever played. Massive bloated slop with no substance whatsoever. I didn’t want to touch shadows with a 10 foot pole. They took an already dying franchise and made it worse. You’re genuinely better off playing Witcher 3 or even the upcoming blood of dawnwalker game for an actually good action RPG experience.

Star Wars Outlaws is the worst Star Wars game of all time

I remember when I was a kid, Star Wars games were awesome. Games like force unleashed, revenge of the sith game, obi wan Kenobi game, republic commando, KOTOR, battlefront, clone wars game, etc. Now it’s all gone to shit and it’s ubisofts is to blame.

Outlaws feels cheap as hell, like all the devs really cared about was to make money. It’s not made with the same level of love and care as the Star Wars games from the 2000s. It’s also basically a copy/paste of ubislops terrible game designs. Open world slop with a million map markers and no soul. The story is trash, the protagonist is boring and every mechanic is underbaked. A game that’s a mile wide and a puddle deep. There’s a reason it’s the most hated Star Wars game ever

This sub silences criticisms of LOTDK

Is this sub full of fanboys or something? Because the mods literally silence you just for not mindlessly praising the new game. That’s why the only posts I’ve seen are positive… because the subs won’t let you post anything negative. Truth is, many are disgruntled with what TT has done to Lego games and we want some constructive improvements but y’all want to gleefully accept poor quality

So Roman Reigns cut a promo after Raw, essentially having a hissy fit because he was likely told by Triple H that he’s dropping his belt to Jacob Fatu. He main evented 11 wrestlemanias and held the WWE title for 4 years and that’s still not enough for him… it’s honestly pathetic. He’s basically the new Hulk Hogan. Tbh I’d argue he’s WORSE than Hulk Hogan. At least Hogan got over immediately and WWE didn’t spend 10 years constantly shoving him down everyone’s throats to get him over. Also, at least Hogan still wrestled FULL-TIME during his entire WWE run and even his WCW run. Meanwhile Roman Reigns promises everyone he’s going full-time all summer but now he backed out and WWE had to cancel his appearances throughout June… I hate Roman Reigns, I’ve always hated Roman reigns since the day WWE tried forcing him down our throats. He can’t wrestle, he can’t talk, he can’t get over without 10 years of constant forced pushing and he can’t be bothered to show up to work yet he thinks he’s top shit. He couldn’t hold a candle to 75% of the AEW roster and he would absolutely FLOUNDER if he ever found his ass there.

u/Formal-Opening2167 — 3 months ago

So WWE currently has a bit of a problem. They keep pushing the same old guys while simultaneously failing to use a bunch of wrestlers who deserve better. I’ve decided to make a tier list categorising every male wrestler on the roster based on the position on the card that they should be and how WWE should use them. The categories I’ve used are:

Main eventer: These guys are in the world title picture and should be the ones winning the world title and main eventing PPV’s including Wrestlemania

Mid-carders: These guys are prominently featured on raw/smackdown and are fighting for the intercontinental and US titles

Legends: These are older wrestlers who have already had their time in the spotlight. Instead of pushing them to the top and making them hog the spotlight, WWE should follow AEW’s model. These guys should NOT be winning world titles at this point in their career nor main eventing Wrestlemania and should be used primarily to put over younger talent.

Tag team: These guys should be in the tag team division. Since WWE essentially released most of the tag division, this is a pretty weak tier.

Lower card: These guys should be used either as enhancement talent to put others over or should be primarily featured on shows like main event.

Let me know if I should do the same for the women’s roster!
