Hey everyone,

A few of us who have been around HaxBall for years recently started working on PixiBall.

The main reason we made it was pretty simple: we still really like HaxBall, but after years without many major updates, we wanted to experiment with what it could look like with more modern features and continued development.

We’ve tried to keep it as compatible with HaxBall as possible, so existing players and room owners don’t have to relearn everything or rebuild their setup. HaxBall replays and other existing content can be used with PixiBall, and existing headless setups can be moved over pretty easily:

https://www.pixiball.com/headless

We also have full mobile controls, so the game is properly playable on phones/tablets, and AI bot support for rooms.

For people who run 24/7 rooms, we’ve also made our own Node.js library:

https://github.com/pixiball/pixiball.js

You can try the game here:

https://www.pixiball.com/

We’re still early and have a lot of updates planned, so we’d genuinely appreciate feedback from long-time HaxBall players and room owners.

If anyone gives it a try, let us know what you think or what you’d want to see added.
