A new one for me today. Picking my daughters up from gymnastics, drive there, locked the car, picked them up, came back ten minutes later and the key card opened the doors but would not be recognised as a key, nor could my phone. Did a onfortainment reset a couple of times. Tried a full system reset (but it would not reset). Everything working apart from key not recognised so car effectively immobilised.

Wife came to pick up the girls while I waited for Volvo Assitace to arrive. My wife brough her card key, and that worked and got the car going again. AND my key card and phone started working again after using hers. 🤷

Not a big deal as we were only 15mins from home (and had another car), but if I have been hundreds of miles away?!

-I had an upgrade to my broadband to 900/100Mbps yesterday. 

-3 x Android Pixel phones (2x Pixel 6, 1x Pixel 8) all achieve ~900/100Mbps no problem.

-3 x Windows 11 laptops (2 work laptops from different companies, 1 personal laptop) - all max out at ~320Mbps. 

-I have tried the laptops on wired and wireless connections - all give the same result. 

-The Ethernet is negotiating 1Gbps

-6GHz WIFI band / 2402 Mbps Tx/Rx link rate

-Autotuning: Normal, RSS: Enabled

-All tests completed multiple times over Ookla, BT, Fast.com, and Cloudflare all with almost exactly the same results

-Ping is ~12ms with 0% packet loss

 

Any ideas?

I know there are other threads on this, but just wanted to ask:

1. Is it a common problem?

2. Does anyone have the diffinitive resolution?

I had it in the dealership yesterday and they did nothing to resolve it, or they might have tried lots of things, but, net result is it is still doing it. I would've thought that if it was a common problem they would 1). know about it and 2). know how to fix it.

. . . only exists to normlaise and make us all accept all the minor faults and foibles that this car has and accept it as just the way this idiosyncratic car is, instead of us all marching on the dealerships with flaming stakes and pitchforks to demand the £100K car works as it shoud do.

Andriod auto is now installed but I cannot see what the advatage of it is over the native system? I have Gemini on my phone but not in the car so accessing this would've been an advatage, but I cannot see how set it up as the default - I have to press the Gemini button on the Android Auto screen in the car to access it?

Previously working, the memory seats now don't work properly.

Profile 1 - main driver adjusts sterring wheel and mirrows but not the seat.

Profile 2 - works as expected.

I've tried resetting infotainment and setting everything up again.

If you manually switch profiles it all works as expected.

Any ideas?

Also, when you you used to make changes to the driver seats/mirrors/steering wheel, it used to prompt "do you want to save chages to your profile" - but it does not do this anymore, and I think this stopped working before the s/w update.

I'm losing internet connectivity regularly (like every 12 - 36 hours), so the app cannot see the car, and when I get in the car streaming Amazon music does not work, and I have to do an infotainment reset - anyone else had this? Figured out how to resolve?

Car has the new computer upgrade and is on s/w version 2.1.25.

Anone come across this? If I am breaking and turning at the same time there is a quiet clicking sound (really quiet - you can't hear it with music on, and you have to pay attension to hear it at all) from what sounds like the front wheel areas. It sounds like a quiet rattle, but as it is very rhythmic I would say it is more of a clicking noise than a rattle.

It's not causing any other problems other than curiosity as to what it is (and the slight annoyance that a car of this price should not have such little gripes).

I really like him, and could see him in an Everton shirt. He's probably got another good three years in him. And if West Ham go down...?

Twenty years ago, E46 M3s were everywhere, fast road, track day cars, race cars, KW Club Sport suspension, AP racing brakes, etc etc

But what is the current day equivalent?

- why does the car tell me the window is not closed, and leave it like that all night until I go and manually close it INSTEAD OF JUST CLOSING THE WINDOW.

- the Bowers and Wilkins tweeter and the HUD on the dashboard, on a bright day are just MASSIVE reflections in your line of sight, did no one test drive the car in the sun?!
