did anyone else lose a lot of weight quickly after surgery? i was about 178 lbs before and they removed around 5 pounds, which took me to 173 after surgery and is what i weighed a week ago. i weighed myself today and was 166 which feels like a pretty big drop in weight for a week

i’m 15 days post op and healing relatively well from DI with FNG save for one section of my right incision. my steri strips are still on, but there had been consistent bleeding and discharge from that spot for 7 days. the worst of the bleeding was last week when it fully soaked through my dressings and binder and it has been somewhat decreasing but has continued bleeding (i’ve already had the area checked out at urgent care, so it’s not a hematoma/anything more urgent) and the steri strip has yellow staining around the top. i showered today and looking down at my incision i feel like i can see a hole underneath the steri strips, but i might be going crazy 😭 is there a way to know without taking off my strips if i’m experiencing dehiscence?

getting top surgery soon and i should be excited but all i can think about is how i’ll have a giant clocky scar across my chest for the rest of my life. i cant even have the more common DI 2 separate scars my chest is too fucking big and now everyone knows what DI scars look like so i’ll be clocked forever. they’re going to go far back into my armpits because im fat as shit and i’ll probably never be able to go shirtless. i’m grateful to be getting surgery and would probably rope soon if I didn’t but it’s really not fair that i need it in the first place
