I've been going through the Ace Attorney series recently, and I'm on Spirit of Justice now. And honestly, even just looking back at the original trilogy, I'm never not surprised at just how much Phoenix matured in just 3 years. As a college student (age 21) he was an incessant loudmouth crybaby that constantly said things that would only work against him. As a defense attorney (age 24), he's basically one of the only sane people in the cast. He has some goofy moments here and there, but he's still far more composed and sensible than Maya, the Judge, and certainly a lot of defendants and witnesses.

Mia Fey certainly taught him well.

Got a remote job offer as a Front-End Javascript Developer. However, I'm skeptical it's an elaborate scam.

Someone emailed me thanking me for my application to Triumph Group, and said they would like to schedule a technical interview. I said sure, told them my availability and what to expect for it. But then they just sent me a PDF with a bunch of technical questions about JavaScript and told me to send them my responses by the next day, which I did. Now they apparently liked my answers enough to offer me the job posted in this image.

Some things to note:

- I've never even so much as had a face to face interview, even through Zoom. The only "interview" here was just answering technical questions on a PDF.

- Triumph Group is an actual company, and the email is [name]@triumphgroupcareers.com, which looks official. However, I can't find ANY online presence on the guy contacting me.

- The first email that started this chain, it started with "Dear Applicant", which raises a red flag.

- I DID apply to Triumph through Indeed a few months back, but it was for a CNC Machinist position. However, I am legitimately trying to change careers into software/web development, which my resume reflects.

- As seen in the image, he is asking for my address and phone number. I have those included in my resume, so wouldn't he just know them already?

Thinking of making a STR dual-wielding Ranger. Can't decided on either Flurry or Precision. Sell me on one.

The basic gist I'm getting from each:

  • Flurry: Can do tons of attacks each turn and leans well into the dual wielding. However, you basically have to spend all your actions attacking to output reliable DPR, which won't be doable all the time.

  • Precision: Only needs to get one hit in to get some good damage out, and Twin Takedown can better ensure you do. This also leaves more room to use your other actions to do other things without feeling like you're missing out on damage. However, it does additional precision damage, and to my knowledge there are a fair number of monsters that are immune to it, such as oozes and ghosts.

I'm seeing on my account that, because it's on a qualifying unlimited plan, I can upgrade my 8 to a 16 for only $8 a month, no trade-in required. The retail price for a 16 is $730. $8 times 36 equals $288. Even with upgrade fees and sales tax that's a grand total of $405 vs buying it in full for $730.

That said, I'm the kind of guy that likes to think that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Are there any catches I haven't caught on to that I should be aware of?

So, my mother passed away last year. I have an iPhone 8, and she had a 13. I figured I could try swapping the data between our phones so that I could basically get a free upgrade, while my old phone would serve as a digital archive of all her data. I asked the AT&T sub on how to go about this and they basically said that I would have to erase one phone, transfer the data from the other phone, erase that one, then use the iCloud to restore my data on it. Then I'd bring it to AT&T to swap the numbers.

Here's the problem I'm having right now: I just factory resetted my iPhone 8. My mom's 13 is still intact and has everything. I tried doing the direct transfer from the 13 to the 8. None of the apps actually transferred: Her Apple ID settings are there, but there's no texts, photos, or apps transferred. I cannot use iCloud restoration on the 8 because it requires iOS 26 or later, and it only goes up to 16. When I tried the data transfer, it gives me a list of options, I choose "Transfer from iPhone", I go through the prompts, wait several minutes, and then when it "finishes", it just goes back to the original list of options, as if nothing actually happened.

What do?

My model: 8, with iOS 16

Her model: 13, with iOS 26.2
