I was spiked and I still feel unwell a week later but doctors don’t care and my friend was rude about it…

I don’t know where to post so maybe here is ok…

I was spiked. I wasn’t drinking alcohol at the time. It was at a pagan style event celebrating the towns history with sword fighting and music and drinking.

I drank two beers that night and I know my limits, I drank them around 5pm, and drank cola from then on and my own water in a bottle in my bag. I left my last cola unattended but with all of our stuff and our group of friends whilst I went to help my friend set up her tent. I assumed because all our friends were there it would be ok. It definitely was NOT one of those guys. But they all moved off a little way to chat and were a few meters away up the hill from my drink and our stuff.

At around midnight, friends started heading off. I remembered my unattended cola and downed it, then set off to see some friends off and head back to the tents. Within 10-15 minutes I started feeling like I was really drunk. Dizzy, unsteady, giddy. 5 minutes later we were back at the tents and my friend who I helped decided she didn’t want to camp and went to her husbands family who lived near by. At this point my head is spinning and I go lay down. A short while later I get up, I don’t know how much time has past but I start vomiting. Then for 3 hours I can barely move from outside the tent, vomiting constantly. I vomited so much I made my insides bleed. My boyfriend had to call an ambulance for me because I was shaking so violently. I remember bits and pieces, like being carried up the hill between my boyfriend and the paramedic, I remember trying to speak at the hospital, then nothing until I woke up again around 8am. I then spend until 1pm ish vomiting constantly, there’s nothing left so I’m just wretching and bringing up bile. They transfer me to the city hospital where they scan my abdomen, take blood and give me benzodiazapine and anti nausea. I finally stop being sick around 3pm. They send me home at 6/7pm. (Timeline is estimated based on my jumbled messages and my boyfriend‘s account)

It has been a week and I still feel fatigued, exhausted, sick, not hungry, achy…. I take adhd medication so who knows how that interacted together… it’s why I don’t drink much.

Doctors agreed I had been spiked but never checked for what. On my notes it just says I had stomach flu. Which is bs because I was perfectly fine before.

I tried phoning them to ask if they tested my blood for what I was spiked with but they said no and kept hanging up on me.

Is it normal to still feel so sick? I am so lucky I had my boyfriend with me to protect me but I am so shaken up and I feel so violated…. I guess this might be a good place to post… I don’t know I’m just so messed up and sad about everything and my friend just said “oh well it’s happened just don’t think about it” and “it’s been a week and you’re still talking about it?” some friend….

How can I not? Right now I’m dizzy and my head is spinning. I wasn’t hungry but I made myself eat. I feel sick but now I’m terrified of the throwing up like I had before…

Calathea advice on whether it is 2 plants or one with a big divergence from the main stem?

**EDIT AT THE BOTTOM**

This plant is my OG baby. My toxic ex would not let me have plants and this was the first I bought after I left him. It road tripped with me across Europe in the middle of winter in -20 at our destination and has thrived. This plant and I have a spirit bond. It embodies my thriving and growing. So I don’t want to do the wrong thing and accidentally kill it 🤣

I adore calathea and I know they are dramatic af (I called them su*c*dal plants) but if this is 2 plants in one albeit a little tangled, should they be seperated? Or should I just continue to repot and leave it as is? I have been really sick so I don’t want my foggy brain to make the wrong choice but I am bored and tending to my plants keeps me sane!

TIA for advice and help 🙏🏻

A link to a video to show the wobble of one’s side which is why I wondered if it was 2 plants. How do I help this?

Border collie suddenly scared of wind

Hello,

My boy is 8. He never responded to fireworks or bangs, he would come outside and watch them from my back yard with me all the time. He doesn’t respond to thunder, beyond a small ear twitch. He doesn’t even respond to knocks on the door.

We moved countries together. I downsized and packed all my belongings with my dog and my cat into my Duster so I could safely transport them 2000km away without using cargo in planes or animal taxis to reduce the stress and anxiety for them. My dog always road trips, camps, travels thousands of miles all over the country with me and is fine.

They settled really well. Or so I thought. My dog has been reacting badly the last couple of months to the wind. He will wine and pant, pacing up and down. It is really hot so I need a window open until I can afford a fan but I have to close them because the noise is stressing him out too much. He is hiding inside the shower. He HATES baths and showers but he finds it safer than hearing the wind…

I had to take the shower floor mat, and the inside anti slip mat up because he has rubbed his nose until it bleeds on them . I have to really pull at the anti slip mat to get it up but he has rubbed it so hard it’s pulled it up….

What can I do? Has anyone experienced this? How can I help him? We moved 8 months ago and it’s only since around June I noticed this behaviour. Sometimes it happens all night and he won’t settle. He has started hiding under my bed…

The only thing I can think of is, we have gone from a couple hundred year old stone cottages to living on the 5th floor of an apartment so I know it will sound different to him… we walk more together now we don’t have a garden. Once before work, once after. And one before bed. Including a few pee walks. About 60 minutes on work days, 120 minutes on days off. Between my partner and I it’s only 3 or 4 days of 60 minute walks… Maybe I need to do more?

I attached a picture of him hiding in the shower, like sensory protection in a dark insulated space…

How to save this umbrella tree

Hello, I have a habit of taking plants from what I call the “dead plant shelf” at the local hard ware/plant shop. They’re ones that the shop sees are either not selling, have been there a while or are dying so they shove them on that shelf and forget about them. I’ve rescued some amazing plants from there, some perfectly healthy at 90% off. This tree was not looking so great though, but not terrible…

When I brought it home it was overwatered, but not pot bound so I left it in it‘s pot. It had leaves but was yellowing more than its variegation and a bit limp. I decided to not water it and let it dry out (a mistake) and keep it in bright indirect sunlight.

I realised the overwatering was worse than I thought and yesterday I repotted in drier soil as the roots were rotting and completely soaked. Within a week, all the roots fell off and the stem looks like it’s rotting. But when I scratched the surface off it is green underneath so definitely trying to survive.

Can anyone else recommend what more I can do? I really like these trees when I see them so I really hope I can revive it!

I put pictures before and after I bought it, the first picture is today, the second when I brought it home. I think most of the problem was overwatering but I’m at a bit of a loss what to do now.

Thank you.

Croissant dough slipping

Hello, can someone help me?

Sometimes my croissant dough slips as I start to laminate. I have brushed all excess flour away, the butter I have tried at 14C, 15C and 16C. The dough is around 4-5C, I’ve tried letting it warm a little more.

I have pressed it down. I have tidied it at each turn. My bosses don’t want me to cut the excess dough, they like it with that slightly mismatched layer (still need to ask them why because it stresses me out 😅 I got yelled at as a student for that)

Yes, the dough reminds me; I should call her…

Any advice on stopping the dough and butter from slipping away from each other would be amazing. Thank you!

Will my nose piercing be ok?

I got my left and right nostril done back in the end of April. I caught it on a pillow and it made it sore a few weeks ago. Then whilst taking my work clothes off I caught it and ripped the scab off and caught the piercing on the other side.

They're so painful….

If I leave and clean them they should heal ok right? No sign of infection just painful and a little weepy (clear fluid and a bit of blood)

They have flat backs and inside is fine, just the outside where I caught the scab and must have jabbed my skin with the jewel on the other one…

(just to say I’m not pushing the back of the piercing out I’m just holding my nostril so the camera focussed on it)
