I’m so tired of the ”just because it’s a kids {thing} doesn’t mean it has to be bad! Kids deserve better!” discourse.

Yes, I agree that excusing a shitty product by saying “it’s made for kids!” is bullshit.

But you would not believe the amount of people I’ve ran into who’ve said “kids deserve well-written stories!”, and used that as an excuse to just shit on the shit they hate. For example, those assholes over at Qualitipedia, among others.

The funny thing is, most creators of a bad movie or show usually never say “It’s made for kids!”, and the people who actually do are quickly called out.

I get their point is the makers of a product should try harder on a project even if it IS for kids, and I also get most people usually say this when a group of people online DO say “it’s made for kids”, but when people begin shaming entire movies or shows for “using that excuse”, when a lot of bad kids movies are bad for a different reason besides “the studio was lazy because it was a kids movie and they put no effort into it”,

It all just feels black and white. Like they don’t wanna be constructive, and would rather be dismissive.

TL;DR, kids deserve good stories. But stories deserve constructive criticism. And writing a story off because it “uses the made for kids excuse” is dismissive.

I'm not sure if someone has already made a rant like this one, but mom said it's my turn to complain, so I'm just going to do it.

Okay, I’m just going to come out and say it. I don‘t care who you are, the millisecond you dismiss a piece of media as slop, then that’s it. Dinner’s done.

When I ask someone why they hate something, I want a real answer like “I thought the writing was poor” or “the characters weren‘t very interesting“ or ”I didn’t like the style”. I DON’T want to be answered with “because it’s slop” or ”because that thing is ass” or ANYTHING like that.

Those answers tell me NOTHING about why you hate something. They just tell me you’re unwilling to cooperate. Media discussion is the opposite of fun when someone’s reason for disliking something is THIS shallow.

And besides, the term “slop” is just inaccurate in most cases. When I think of slop content, I think of Youtube content farms. Content with no effort or passion put into any aspect it, made only to make money from YouTube’s revenue system.

But even the worst cartoons, even the worst MOVIES, had effort put into them by SOMEONE. Most movies take years to make, and most episodes of a show take months. Slop content takes DAYS to make.

Everyone is allowed to dislike whatever they want. It‘s your own opinion and you’re entitled to it. Just try to be respectful, you know?

It’s just perfect design. Taking a gas station and making it look like a V8 engine. Eight pistons, eight sparkplugs, all together in a V shape. The main building with it‘s car filter and the giant tightener on top. The way the sparks light up at night, the color scheme, the stylish 50s aesthetic. The logo being an 8 being held with a V. I don’t know how you can top this.

Grrrrrrrrrrr! This episode sucks, just like all DEmastered episodes ever made!

the animation is atrocious! it looks like it was made using goanimate!

none of the characters are likable

awful voice acting

some of the moments are awful, like mephone yelling shut up and bow breaking a chair

they removed all the fart jokes, despite the fact season 1 was remembered and beloved for all its edgy humor!

and if you like this episode, you are grounded for double eternity! quit liking demastered right now and ground people who like it!

this episode gets a 0/10, wish I could give lower.

Ever wonder why Prince Hans randomly turns evil in Frozen, despite showing no signs of evil beforehand?

Well... In an alternate universe, Perry was fighting Dr Doofenshmirtz. Perry kicked him into his "turn anything evil inator", and the inator shot into the "multiversal portal inator". It flew through the portal, flew through space, and just as Hans was about to kiss Anna, ZAP!!! "Oh Anna, if only there were someone out there who loved you"

Then when Hans got knocked back from the blast of his sword hitting Anna's frozen body, it knocked him unconcious just long enough for the effects of the "turn anything evil inator" to wear off. So when he woke up and saw Anna wasn't dead, he was back to normal.

And the rest is history. What do you guys think of my theory?
