My partner was everything, she left me and now I am very alone and isolated. How have you who have experienced this navigated making friends or finding ways to remove the isolated feeling?

How common is it for a spouse to go no contact after abandoning a marriage?

My ex left to see her sister, never came back. Then told me she was gay. Then blocked me. We’re still legally married, we rarely email, I have no idea what to do now. We had a good marriage but she basically lost her mind when her mom got cancer. And now won’t talk to me.

The dating apps are hell on earth

I’m 37, I have a house and a great job. I have a good personality and I enjoy active hobbies and being adventurous. I’m just ok looking at best but am in decent shape. I’d rate myself a solid 5-6 overall. I can’t match with ANYONE I’m attracted to on the apps. My ex is like a 7, so my standards are a little high but like I have received maybe 5 likes and had maybe 15 matches in the last six months. The metro area is 3 million so I’m not in the boonies. Is dating just this impossible on the apps now? In person I used to do pretty well. It feels like all the women just go for the hottest guys on the app and while the rest of us get left in the dust. Any advice? I’m trying to date I can’t even get matches to start talking to people.

Trilogy’s that changed genres

What trilogy’s have completely changed their genre. The two that come to mind for me is Evil Dead, going from horror to comedy in the third movie. And Alien, going hard action in the second and third movies. It’s interesting if something is successful enough to get a sequel that the formula is then changed, and likely worked if it’s a trilogy.

She came out as gay, went no contact

We had a wonderful relationship until she left. She abandoned me, the house, and the dogs overnight. And has basically gone no contact with me after being very close and being best friends for 13 years. I’m struggling with the change. Has anyone else had a mostly good marriage to no contact and how did you navigate it. It would be so much easier to have a reason to hate her but I’m really struggling with the change it’s been 8 months. Not to mention I’m in a city without many friends and no family so dealing with this alone has been brutal as well. My parents have been coming out to visit a fair amount at least.

I can’t tell if I’m genuinely not interested or if I’m not ready to date yet

I’m not doing super well on hinge and getting very few people matching that I’m attracted to. I’m going on maybe a date every month or so and I keep ending things. The thought of courtship and going through everything again is still exhausting to me. So how do you know when you can or should date again? My ex left 6 months ago and I’m still pretty lonely and depressed FYI. Dating I thought was a way to distract me a little.

Meeting New People here

Looking for tips or advice: I lived here 8 years now and working remote has really limited how I can make friends here. I’m recently divorced so that sting of no friends is hitting particularly hard this weekend. I’m 37/m I hike ski and bike. Also into board games and nerdy stuff. Any tips?

Abandoned suddenly after a mostly good relationship

We were caregivers for her dying mother in the house, after the funeral she for lack of a better word lost her mind went to her sisters (planned to only go for 4 days) and just never came back. She told me she was gay while there and will barely text or talk to me now. I gave her everything and now I’m very isolated in a city without many friends and no family here. I’m just going through the motions and taking care of the dogs (one was her moms) and every day is so painful now.

Have any of you been abandoned suddenly and how did you heal?

Moving out day

After she abandoned me six months ago (came out as gay) and was finally back today to get her stuff. Super hard day, I’m very isolated not
Many friends or family here so it’s been extra hard without support. Just venting. Ugh
