(Spoiler - entire Maasverse) Anyone else dreading the direction of the series?

In the lead up to ACOTAR 6 & 7 I’ve been reading lots of theories and it seems pretty clear that SJM is gearing up to merging all of her series. I feel like I’m one of the only fans that absolutely hates the idea of a new series combining ACOTAR, TOG and CC. I appreciate each on their own but do not want the characters moving to the same world.

Spoilers for Crescent City - Based on what happened in HoFaS, >!Dusk court!< is going to be a major plot point moving forward. >!Bryce!< has the most foreshadowing to being the next ruler and >!the land literally claimed her. I don’t think it matters that she gave the sword to Nesta, Bryce is still the one the land claimed!< . I’m so nervous that ACOTAR 6/7 and CC4 will be the lead up to >!Nesta finding the Dusk court and Bryce moving to Prythian permanently.!< She’s by far one of my least favorite characters in the Maasverse and I don’t like the idea of her suddenly having a ton of power and importance in the ACOTAR world. Don’t even get me started on the >!Bryceriel!< ship which is still going strong even after the Call Her Daddy podcast.

I also just don’t like the idea in general of mashing all the series leads together to fight off some big bad guy. It seems like I might be in the minority and people want to see this happen, so would be curious to hear from others here if this is something that you’re looking forward to or if you are also frustrated by this direction.

Horrible comments about Gwyn on the latest Bloomsbury post

I was absolutely floored and disgusted seeing this chain of comments about Gwyn on the latest Bloomsbury post. Do people actually think this way about SA victims?!?! I actually want to throw up at how vile these are.

Why does everyone want Cassian to die?!

Why do so many people want Cassian to die?!

I’ve suddenly gotten inundated with posts across all social media theorizing and hoping Cassian is going to die in the upcoming books. Genuinely why do people want this to happen?! I keep seeing people think it “needs to happen” because it’ll move the plot forward, but if anything won’t that just cause Nesta to spiral into an even worse depression???? And Nesta explicitly says in Silver Flames that she’s been scared to accept her feelings for Cassian because she’s scared about him dying or being taken away from her. If he dies, she’s going to spiral worse than before. Nesta already went through a healing arc in Silver Flames, we don’t need to repeat that. And if Cassian dying causes her to become a full on villain than that also makes Silver Flames pretty useless since the whole point of that book was showing she’s a good person underneath her trauma.

I do understand some people like Eris and see potential in his character, but I also don’t see what people see between him/ Nesta. I just reread Silver Flames and Nesta herself is upset that Cassian might have believed there was anything more to her dance with Eris than an act on her part. She continually refers to her dance with Eris as a spell and an intentional act. When Cassian dances with her she thinks to herself that even though he’s clumsy, the rest of the room disappears, they only have eyes for each other and he’s even more beautiful than the music. She later worries that her smile in response to Cassian’s on the dance floor would make her true feelings known to Eris and ruin the act. To me that scene cemented Nesta and Cassian’s chemistry/ love so it’s confusing that so many people read it as the opposite.

I just don’t see how Cassian dying would actually move the plot forward without causing Nesta’s character arc to completely back track.

Nessian plot / POVs in the upcoming books?

Is anyone hoping for more Nessian in ACOSH and ACOFM?

I’ve seen a lot of chatter about who Azriel and Elain will end up with but I haven’t seen as much talk about where people think Nesta’s story is going. I think the end of CC3 made it super clear her story isn’t done. Bryce explicitly told her to find out what her connection is with the 8 pointed star. Things also seemed rocky between her and Cass / the IC too. I really like Nesta and Cassian, but I also very much feel like they have more growing together to do as a couple. ACOSF focused on Nesta’s healing arc, but brought up that clearly Cassian has his own issues of insecurity to overcome (and he needs to choose his mate over Rhys). It’s probably a long shot, but I’d love if we got more Cassian POVs in the next books so we could see him work through some of his issues and choose Nesta/ profess his love in words for her. I’ll be devastated if he dies or their story continues in the background without resolution honestly. Is anyone else hoping for Netsa and Cassian to be main characters or are we ready to move on to a brand new couple?

My bat colony + Giant bat texture issue?

My bat colony is here and I love them all! Unfortunately my jumbo bat was pretty crushed in shipping and one of its ears is bent funny. It also has a lot of lines in the fur on its face. Does anyone know what I can do to smooth it out more? The texture bothers me since it’s right on the face.

Last picture included to show my cats aren’t sold on the giant size yet 😆

HomeGoods mug finds 🌙

The crescent moon is my favorite! They were in the Halloween section but I’m going to use them year round. The lady at the checkout said the moon one has been really popular.

Stained Glass Celestial Witch Hat Lamp

Had to share my latest purchase! It was a little spendy but I’ve been looking at it for a few months. They had an orange and a green version as well, but I liked the traditional celestial vibes of the blue and how it looks with my other witch hat lamp. I think it goes perfect in my library room!
