Your accounting firm may be feeding AI training data without anyone opening ChatGPT | The concern is not simply whether employees paste confidential material into ChatGPT; data already residing inside accounting software can potentially enter AI workflows depending on vendor settings and contracts.

So sick of the “fine tuning” case for god…

Was listening to Ross Douthat be interviewed on the Within Reason podcast, and his major case for the existence of god is what a miracle it is that humans exist on this planet given everything around us…

I wanted to scream while I was walking… “If there was clear evidence of life on a bunch of different planets you would also say that’s proof that god exists because god wants his creations & love everywhere… or some shit.”

My old father in law drank himself to death 6 months into retiement

An incredibly sweet man who I was still friends with after partner and I broke up.

I would really only see him when he was visiting and hence on vacation. I would leave him a handle of Jim Beam and then he would be getting a new one 2 days later.

We were happy he was finally going to retire as my ex’s mom has a lot of health issues and needs full time care. Instead, he became more unhealthy than her in a few months because he was drinking from sun up to sun down.

For a lot of loved ones, their job is the only thing keeping them from spiraling out of control.

Ex’s dad died 6 months into retirement

We haven’t been partners in a while, but still friendly and her parents even stayed at my place when they were in town recently.

He was a heavy drinker and smoker, and his business, I guess, was the only thing keeping him from being drunk from sunrise to sunset.

I guess I’m just rambling and thinking about the importance of purpose outside your job so you don’t essentially die the day your career stops.
