I'm new to selling on ebay and my first sale was a DJI Air 2s drone. I noted that the gimbal was messed up, but otherwise everything worked and the drone flies. Guy asks to knock $100 of the price, I say sure, shipped it, heard nothing for like 3 weeks and then I get an Item not delivered email. I messaged the seller with the address I sent it to, everything I looked up said as long as it shows delivered I should be fine. Next day they close the case because they found the box somewhere. Then the next day I get another email from buyer about wanting to return it because they heard a rattle. We talk it out he goes away for a few days and follows up with a new refund request. Says he got the gimbal repaired, but still not working correctly, but they'd be willing to keep it for a 50% refund.

I'm annoyed at this point and being new to ebay his admission of "I got it repaired" would have been enough to cancel his refund request, but I went ahead and accepted for a couple of reasons. 1. If he actually got it repaired but couldn't figure out the calibration then I get a working drone back without the repair fee. 2. if he tried to swap it out for a different item I have video evidence of the item I shipped so i'd dispute it with eBay.

So I order the label and he ships it back, with 1 new extra battery, a new charging plate and power cord! Gimbal has been replaced just isn't syncing with the controller, but i've done research and it should be an easy fix (spoiler...not super easy but doable). So far i'm ahead in this return with all the new stuff. Ebay on the other hand hasn't updated tracking in the system and says still in transit so I can't give him the refund yet.

Message didn't change for 4 days so he emails me asking what the hold up is, I let him know it's ebay's tracking and I call for support. I chat with someone and explain the issue is their tracking system. They said sure we can update tracking and then issue the refund. I say sure go ahead.

Well then I get an email stating that I accepted the refund, but never sent the money so they closed the case in his favor and I'm responsible for the FULL amount of the refund. Now I have them call me to dispute this since I was the one who tried to make it right in the first place. I tell the lady I don't have an issue with the refund I just want my transaction fees back, she argues that I didn't pay on time, I argue back that your system is broken and wouldn't let me update tracking or pay them. She said it doesn't matter what ebay says if FedEx tracking shows the item delivered, did you get a notice of delivery? I said no and even so I still don't have a button on ebay to send the refund with an open case and no proof of delivery IN YOUR SYSTEM. She puts me on hold and says it looks like FedEx was unable to send you delivery confirmation, so I'll have to escalate you to someone in Accounts.

This guy wants to ask me the same questions and I tell him the same thing adding, the buyer admitted to trying to fix the device before shipping it back so I'm the one being helpful here, which got him to perkup and said ohhh ok, well i've refunded all your fees and you should get an email showing the money is back. My first 2 sales on ebay have been nothing but headaces. I don't even see the point, might as well fight with low ballers on facebook.

Wanted to wait until the case was closed officially, but I beat the scammer!

He's the short version of events. I sold a 1 TB Samsung SSD on ebay. About 2 weeks later I get a message from the buyer that they want to return it because it's "counterfeit". I ask for proof and they make up some lies about the model tag is for a 2tb SSD not a 1 TB and typos all over the box, which is false because I own the same SSD and the box is on my desk. I google what to do and just accept the return rather than ignore him. Because I felt petty I ordered a FedEx label because I know it's a few extra steps to find a fedex vs a USPS store.

This is where this get fun. He messages me a few days later saying he's in the country of Georgia and had the SSD forwarded there and can't use FedEx and wants a new USPS Label. He felt cocky and said I could either ship him a new label or refund 50% of his order cause he has proof of fraud. He proceeds to send me photos of the exact SSD I shipped him with all the proper labels, no typos, and matching barcode. I tell him I can't and ask ebay for help. Now that I have proof I file "report of Abuse" claim with the evidence of his statements and the photos he sent me. Days go by I hear nothing and then yesterday I get an email from ebay that says I need to ship him a new label because he can't use the one I sent!

So I get online, bypass the useless AI agent and have a rep call me. I explain that 1. Ebay won't let me send him a new label with a case open. 2. He shipped the drive to another country 3. they sent me an email saying ship him a label or he gets a full refund. Well once I said he shipped it to another country the guy immediately looked into the case, stated that I did everything right by sending him a label on the day he made the first request and that by their own standards he never shipped anything back within the 10 day window he's given and the case should have been closed. He put me on hold for 2 minutes came back and said he had enough supporting documents to close the case and 20 minutes later I got the email that said it was closed in my favor with no impact to my account.

They never even responded to the fraud claim I sent in, just the fact that he missed his deadline to ship the product back, so I guess the moral to the story is make the liars do the extra work and hope they miss their deadlines if you want to win?....or something

I recently sold a similar setup with the 7800x3d. It took a couple of weeks, but I got a good price for it. Now I’m wondering if the 7900x would take longer to sell in a build or should I sell it (unopened) and use the funds to buy a 7800x3d. The only reason I got the 7900x was because it’s new in box and was a smoking deal. Just don’t want to build it and sit on it for a few months because everyone is looking for an x3d build.
