A REQUEST from a small indie Game developer: Please add a contact Email to your About section!

A small thing that could help you get more opportunities as a streamer: please consider adding an email or other contact method to your About section.

As indie Game devs, we often have limited budgets and small teams, so instead of hiring a marketing team, we look for streamers who already play games similar to ours.

For example, if we're making something like Fast Food Simulator, we'll look for streamers who have played it recently. If we find someone who seems like a good fit, the next problem is: how do we contact them?

Email is ideal, but socials work too. If you have multiple accounts, mentioning where you're most active helps a lot.

And this isn't just useful for us. You could be missing out on opportunities simply because a developer couldn't find a way to reach you.

So if you don't already have one, consider adding a contact method. It takes a minute, and you never know who might be looking for someone exactly like you.

Just wanted to share a small perspective from the indie-dev side. Hopefully it's useful!

Thanks for reading.

A request from a small Indie Game developer. PLEASE! add your emails in about section! You might miss out many opportunities

We Indie game developers are mostly on our own making games, on top of that, hiring a marketing help to promote our own game made with tears and code is difficult(mostly) due to budget and team size constraints.

So, mostly we set out to find streamers and kind folks to play/stream our game. So we search for streamers who play(or like to play) other games like our game. For example, if my game is like Fast Food Simulator, I'll try to search for which streamer has played that game in the last few months.

And the next step we need is to get at least one source of contact to communicate with you.
Preferably email, but socials work too, just mention, if possible, where you are most active.

These developers are mostly not alone; indie devs at least bring a few people to watch the stream and get an idea on there game.

It's a win-win for both parties.

Don't know how this post will perform. I hope I have given you a new perspective today.

Thanks for reading.

Is my Progression system good?

Hi,
I'm an intern in an indie game design studio working on our co-op simulator tycoon game. I need your help. If possible, kindly review my Systems/progression document and guide me.

All those Excel rows and formulas are making me twisted.

Levelling System ref image: https://ibb.co/Cst5K6BX

My current progression/leveling system is designed in such a way that the game will have achievable + easily attainable XP requirement/cap in the start of the game, and it will progressively increase in chunks while the game is progressing.
For example,

The formula works something like this:
Base XP(that means XP needed to 'par' to get to level 2)
Level 2-4 => multiplier is 1.3
Level 5-7 => multiplier is 1.4
Level 8-10 => multiplier is 1.5

Issues I'm facing when thinking about these:
- Will this be scalable?
- Will this be easy to explain to the developer?
- Since our game is Co-op, but can be played as single-player, I have to design XP gain and its effect on levelling and all for both, in terms of Co-op and local playability.

Please feel free to dm if you want more details about systems and are open to guiding me a bit.

I tried my best to explain, will really appreciate some guidance.

Got 10 wishlist under 12hours on my steam game! Yipeee.... How can I improve?

It's 20 now, after around ~2days. I'm somewhat happy, but ya, need to get to work.

We have been working on CATpitalist Cafe Simulator. A co-op simulator Tycoon game.

Until now, I've done very minimal posting on TikTok & Reddit.

The Wishlist velocity is not that great, imo.

Some feedback I got from players is:

  • Capsule art is good & catchy, but the trailer is disappointing.
  • Screenshots could be better.

Numbers are also indicating that as of now.

We are working to update those!

Would like to get more insights from r/IndieGameWishlist

Thank you~

Got my First Game from Steam from my own money!!!

I did my first game purchase from Steam from the money I made working in a game development startup lol...

Never been a gamer-gamer due to my dumbness and financials, but yesterday my coworker noticed that I only have demos & indies in my library, so after many "no, maybe later" & discussions from me, I got this legendary collection.

Thank you.

Alt- First Steam purchase- Batman Arkham Collection! Yipeeeee!

In search of COOLER on Rent as parents are visiting 🥲

Me and my sis are in search of a cooler on rent as our parents are visiting us in Pune.
It's damn warm here, so we need something. We have a small one, but need another as the demand will increase with more people coming.

We tried to find online, no success.
Tried asking friends, no success.
We can't buy a new one at the moment.

Kindly let us know.

Thank you.
