I wish my body could go on autopilot at work, handling tasks automatically while my mind went to an imaginary world where I could create/do anything until my shift ends.

Thoughts on dialogue heavy books?

I'm almost done with my book I've been working on since August of last year. It feels great to finally build the ending.

I'm reading back on chapters, and only now I'm realizing how often I'm using dialogue. It's not OVERLY often, but it's enough to make you know it is a bit dialogue heavy.

That makes me wonder what would people's thoughts on it might be?

Try to avoid 3rd shift if possible

If you must work it, please always carry a self-defense weapon. Being alone as a trans woman was an awful experience for me, and I'm so glad I am going to work Starbucks soon and have normal hours once more.

It really varies from person to person, but a 3rd shift job where you still have to interact with customers, I would highly avoid, ESPECIALLY if you're alone the whole shift.

Doesn't matter if you pass or not, there's going to be at least one weirdo who asks you if you can give them a h*ndjob on the clock.

Today, an older dude (around 50s I'd assume) came in 30 minutes before I was supposed to clock out.

Asks for my number. I say no. He says "maybe this will change your mind." And proceeds to show me a video of his junk.

Another experience is a younger man, but still older than me, proceeding to touch my hand and rub my arm, pulling me almost across the counter thinking he was cute when it was just weird.

ANOTHER experience is when I give a guy a TextNow number instead of my real number, and once he leaves, he sends pictures of his asshole over text that made me just delete the whole app.

AND ANOTHER experience was when a dude asked if I could give him a quick blowie in the bathroom. And insisted that the cameras wouldn't catch us going inside.

There are more times I can give you. I've been working here for 7 months.

Girls, I pass, I've been called pretty.

But these are times where I'm not actively trying to pass. I speak how I normally speak. I sit my hair back and clearly look like a dude with long hair.

They don't care, they are just creeps wanting some weird fucked up fantasy to be satisfied. They know you're alone. And I'm sure without cameras, they'd do worse.

What are you going to do?? Call the cops? They'll never show their face there again, so cops are worthless besides giving them a trespass if you get their license plates.

And today, it makes me sick to my goddamn stomach cause now I have that video burned into my brain and I feel fckning gross. THANK FUCK. I'm working at Starbucks.

So, be safe. Avoid working alone in the dead of nights UNLESS it's not around customers, or you're with other coworkers.
