Looking for a really good spicy beef noodle soup with flat rice noodles in Galveston area. Specifically not pho-style rice noodles - I’m looking for flat rice noodles. Bonus points if the broth is actually spicy and super flavorful.

Thanks yall!

Family & labor

I’m looking for experiences from parents who didn’t tell family when labor started and instead waited until after baby was born to announce it.

Did you regret it? Did it help your stress level? How did family react afterward?

For context: this isn’t about wanting to “exclude” anyone….it’s about protecting my peace.

My mom has made my last two labors about her, adding stress instead of support. My sister has been extremely opinionated during this pregnancy, hasn’t even said congratulations, and mostly contacts me to tell me what I’m supposedly doing “wrong” - including pushing outdated advice that my doctors don’t even recommend anymore.

I’m seriously considering not telling anyone when I go into labor and simply announcing baby’s arrival once we’re settled and ready.

If you did this, how did it go? Any backlash? Anything you’d do differently?

Edit for clarification-my family will not be in the delivery room and the post isn’t about that. We are expecting them to blow up our phones when they find out I go into labor and harass the hospital staff for details. In the past they’ve gone as far as calling hospitals when I haven’t replied and threatened to make police reports when I haven’t answered calls/texts.
