.so experiences

I own two .so domains each for short english words. Has anyone dealt with this tld in recent times? I know of the horror stories with domains taken away in the past and can imagine that being especially likely with this one but curious on others' experiences here.

Domain broker careers

Hi all, I'm based in Europe and have been doing some domain flipping/broker support as a side hustle. I would love to turn this into a fulltime position. I was Googling and for Europe specifically Sedo has offices in Cologne Germany (no current openings on their careers page) and Godaddy often calls from London (haven't checked their openings yet).

Although these are big players and that would be great as well, smaller or boutique players would interest me far more. Even a European branch based on timezone support for another US based company would be ideal.

Does anyone work in the business aside from pure freelance one man show type of gig?

Sourcing coffee beans EU

Hi all. Looking to source wholesale unbranded coffee beans to rebrand and repackage in EU.

I've come across various wholesalers but was curious if anyone happens to have any specific recommendations.

It's a side project for now that I hope to be able to develop into something bigger but for now looking at lowest MOQ - say up to 10kg. Would really appreciate any pointers if anyone has any experiences!

Thanks a ton

Need some help on valuing this and where to list safely and securely

Hey guys, I bought a titanium seamaster (electric blue 1999 automatic, full size) last year from a dealer here in Europe in a bit of a euphoria and only later realised despite full set description it actually didn't come with the guarantee card. No big deal as I was planning to keep it and I had it serviced too (good timing apparently oil wise) also to ensure it was all good and nothing was out of place.

Times have changed and I had to list it for sale. Had it on chrono initially and had interest but no real offer was made. I also got the feedback that the seconds hand tip indeed was not red - I googled this and it mentioned it can fade but looks to me that it's completely white and not faded.

Watch came with the original titanium bracelet (assuming it's been touched up as it looks brand new) but I threw it on a NATO anyway.

What could I realistically ask for this watch whether in Europe or abroad irrespective of tariffs etc?

Going through a bit of a rough patch financially so any advice would really be helpful. I know chrono has fees and eBay does too, that's not the issue. Just cannot afford to get scammed.

Checking on Reddit and chrono there's quite a range and again missing the guarantee card but comes with original box, booklets, service documentation and even the little white hanger which is neat)

Any advice would seriously be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot and take care

Just signed back up for Premium Career

Hi guys, I used to have Premium Career and it didn't help me very much to be honest but I wasn't using it to its full potential I think. I had a big burnout last year and basically isolated myself quite a bit. I'm now looking to get back to it and am cautious with building a personal brand - seeing some of the cringe posts there makes me wonder if just using it to apply for jobs based on my profile and occassionally commenting on relevant company posts/employee posts is the better bet. Would love some advice on how to make use of it. Based in Europe, marketing background

Ethgas GWEI

Please pardon the ignorance but can someone please explain GWEI in plain terms? Why is this something that can be purchased directly from an exchange? Seeing this pump to like 23 cents and pump down to under 2 cent in a matter of days is crazy. What's the point of this?

Where are you guys selling?

Hi all, my wife is a painter and although Etsy and local markets in Europe are a great avenue overall, I was wondering why there aren't more sites that allow you to sell your artwork which don't take such a massive cut.

I understand they run huge campaigns etc and have overhead of course, but when it comes to the likes of Artplode where they charge a fixed fee until sold - it's still 60 dollars per piece without any guarantee and from what I read very little to no marketing from their side - which also makes sense given the price.

But what are your thoughts on these channels? Coming from outside the art world it sounds like a big chunk to handover on high commission structures but it's a nexesssry evil?

Where is everyone based?

Hey guys, I was born in the US and have lived in South America and Europe for most of my life. I'm Dutch originally and moved back after 10 years in the UK. Would love to connect with others here, either virtually or if there are ever any meetups. Take care!

Your Dutch learning journey - successes and struggles?

Hi all, I'm currently building a free site to help people learn Dutch. Absolute beginners first and slowly adding to it as feedback comes in. I was hoping to approach some of the providers like the in person course providers etc for potential advertising via a clean "directory" section - pre-vetted as much as possible (hard enough with all fake reviews around but that's long term thinking. I want the proper system up first)

I was curious - especially seeing more and more of these AI "vibe coded" sites on here, lately via Reddit Ads that just seem awful. I can't imagine people going for these, but then again, they're running ads so maybe there is some success.

In short, looking to get any feedback on how you find the search and use of platforms has been.

Are you struggling due to content overload, poor quality, pricing, not knowing which paltform to trust, or something completely different?

I'm Dutch myself but grew up abroad so expat/integration etc is close to home for me and whilst mental health support would be my dream to help others coming here that are struggling, I don't have those skills I find and at least helping others learn the language in a useful way is a nice alternative.

Is this legit?

I was asking Google AI about buying a running site. It suggested the "usual" with Flippa, Empire etc. but it also mentioned Motion Invest. I checked them out and they have 100 listings or so. But when I check against Ahrefs, it's giving a completely different story with most showing 0 traffic.

Biggest example is this listing for allaboutdogs - https://www.motioninvest.com/marketplace/4a1f67af-cff9-4f4f-aeb0-c1e64f0ce362

here's the ahrefs page: https://ahrefs.com/traffic-checker/?input=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.allthingsdogs.com%2F&mode=subdomains

Any experience with this site at all?

Buying an existing site

Hi guys, curious on which platforms or avenues you guys have used more recently to acquire existing websites (whether it be purely content with ad revenue or more affiliate/saas model). Flippa is quite hit and miss with verification from what I gather and most lean towards Empire or Acquire? I'm looking to buy a smaller site that already has some traction and see if I can grow it.

Best projects built with base44

What are some sites you guys have built or have seen that are built (at least mostly) with base44?

Also, would you say the platform is better for mobile or web apps in general?

Was even benieuwd.

Coffee bag packaging

Hi guys, I see there's quite a few older threads (apologies if I missed any good new ones, please link if so!) but I am currently working on a private label coffee brand and I'm curious on the packaging question. Is black matte kraft with zipper and vent valve still one of the better options? I'm seeing these glossy colored ones, like a bright orange which would match my brand very well but I understand they can attract a lot of fingerprints etc and of course sustainability pushback. What have you found works best?

Amazed at how many sites

I was listening to a startup podcast about niche sites and was amazing at the popularity of these "single page" style sites with just solitaire (same as Wordle, and other games). I'm curious why people still visit these sites and how? When you google these games there is a Google hosted game of Solitaire on the page - what makes people go to random hyphen sites and domain names to play with ads all around?

Same thing goes for calculator sites etc and other tools but just curious to ask the group here given the number of actual App Store apps too

My wife was diagnosed with autism last year, went through burnout, and came out the other side with this hand painted animation she made all by herself

Hi all. Not sure if this is allowed (not something I've ever done before but wanted to at least give it a shot). Long story short, after quite a difficult period for various reasons, my wife was diagnosed with autism recently, went through a really hard burnout over a year ago, and this is her finding her way back to enjoying things she used to (she's super handy around the house but also incredibly creative with a camera outdoors, paintbrushes and other things).

We have 3 girls, two of them also have been diagnosed with autism (one of whom also has ADHD, same as me). So when she sat down and taught herself everything, from storyboard to hand painting each frame, learning to edit, publishing her first animation about cute animals enjoying the little things - it wasn't just for her. It was for them too.

The idea behind the channel is going to be to show that hard times don't erase who you are.

She's posted the first little story and I saw she uploaded 2 shorts of her actual painting process so you can watch along. It's gentle and beautiful and it came from a really meaningful place for our whole family.

I'm super proud of her and whilst she has no idea I'm posting this, I thought it would be lovely if was checked out and I especially hope it resonates with others too. With all this Cocomelon and kids running around with thousands of toys screaming (you probably know the YT channels), I really loved her looking to make a difference.

Her YT channel is called HandPaintedStories, and it would mean the world if you guys would leave a like or a comment. It's nearly 1am here now so I hope that when she wakes up later she'll have some surprise notifications :) Thanks a ton!
