Ziehe aus dem Odenwald nach Kiel. Was erwartet mich?

Moin zusammen!

Interested in first and second age lore

I have read the Lord of the Rings, Hobbit as well as the Silmarilion and I absolutely loved all of them, the Silmarillion perhaps even the most. The Silmarillion however together with the Akallabeth and the Rings of Power appendices left me with many questions. I wonder if there are more books covering more on the subject of first and especially second age, after the fall of Morgoth and rise of Sauron. I have found Unfinished Tales and The Fall of Numenor and was wondering what you would recommend to read for covering up as much of the lore as possible. As far as I've found out, UT is more like a loose collection of short stories, while FoN is condensed an chronological, is that correct?

I'd appreciate any suggestions you can make!

EDIT: Thanks to everyone responding here and providing recommendations, even if I don't answer each post separately! :)

Question for Swedish Players

I enjoy playing as Sweden a lot but unfortunately don't understand Swedish at all (I'm German and even if there MIGHT be similarities, I could identify them in written Swedish maybe, but not in spoken).

I wonder if some Swedish players could explain to me what the units, especially line infantry are actually saying? All I can make out is something sounding similar to the German "Befehlshaber". I can also catch "Infanterie..." and something sounding like "potera" to my ears. I really would like to know what the Swedish sentence is, I guess the translation is something similar as for the other nations (I guess they say something like "ready" after all just like the British, French and German units do where I can understand everything...).

[Help] Identify lua spike causing mods

Every ~8 seconds I get a lua spike (more a drop of some sorts which forms a "sawtooth pattern" in the lua screen) ingame like a clockwork, causing a FPS loss of 10-20 FPS for a split second, which render the game unplayable atm. I know that some mod or mods which is script-heavy might cause that but no matter what I disable, it doesn't vanish. When I disable ALL my mods, it runs like a charm, so some scripts must be the culprit. I tried dozens of times and I can't figure it out. Is there a better possibility to do this? I don't know how to properly use the lua logger via F10 and because of that I just don't know how to identify the heavy mods.

Why is CSO still apparently not fully functional under OpenMW?

One of the mods I dearly miss, really. I miss the inventory item sounds. https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/49654?tab=posts&comment_id=124997154

I just wanted to understand the technical aspects - why is it so hard to port this to OpenMW? This is no rant post, I really am just curious as a modder myself (but inexperienced with lua and TES-modding in general).

And is there maybe an alternative for the inventory sounds in OpenMW?

I avoid Narsis due to its extremely crappy performance

Even though OpenMW increases overall performance to a large degree and I have decent performance with Frame Generation in like all cities, Narsis is off-limits to me because I can't get over 15-20 FPS everywhere except for the market quarter. I use the 0.51 nightly build and cannot remember it to be THIS bad. My only workaround is literally to ignore this city completely because it's no fun venturing there. Lowering graphics and deactivating mods essentially doesn't change anything.

I do however see videos from players in Narsis with no lags at all and I keep wondering how they achieve this.

Does anyone know what the trick is? I know, engine is single core etc., we have been through that. But other players apperently somehow manage. I wonder - how?

(OpenMW 0.51) Luck is force-locked to 30

Since I started a new game with updated Natural Character Growth my luck is locked to 30. The game applies a "Extra Base Modifier" of -10 because my Imperial would else have 40. Now I have a +5 bonus - after reloading said modifier is -15. I have no idea what mod might cause this because I basically didn't change anything. Effect always is refreshed upon reloading. When I for example start a new char everything is fine - until I save and reload. I tried and it's NOT NCG.

I use NCG, N'garde, HBFS, Sun's Dusk which significantly alter the game mechanics, but these mods just didn't do that before I started over.

Does anyone maybe have an idea on how to pinpoint the cause at all? I cannot find whatever is applying this stupid modifier.

Taunting Hrordis into attacking is impossible

I have played this game for literally thousands of hours and never encountered this (and never finished the Morag Tong, yeah). I tried for 30+ mins straight to spam-taunt Hrordis into attacking me - I even cheated Speechcraft to 100 via console for testing - she won't ever snap! I honestly have no idea how to do this Sanguine quest without slapping half the Halfway. This literally drives me crazy right now.
