Ok this is messed up and I'm genuinely confused, I don't know what just happened.

I don't even know if this is the right place to post this, but whatever, I need some explanations (I only added glitch pic flair because it was required)

This literally happened 30 min ago, I don't know, I dont freaking know what to think and what to do with it. Dad thinks me and my sis are pranking him but my sister just called in sick to work when she was about to leave. My sis leaves for work at 15:15, give or take a few minutes, it's a 15 min walk to her work. At 15:07 dad comes home, I am in my room working, sis is in her room getting ready, he says hello, talks about how warm it is outside(We live in southeastern europe), none of us go up to see him or greet him since this is a normal occurence every day, basically the same thing happens every day, dad has discus hernia and goes out for walks between 13:30 and 15:00 says that the warm weather and walking helps him with the pain. So he comes home, talks to us through the rooms, goes in the bathroom, then goes out and goes in the living room and says "Damn I forgot my lighter", after that I say wait I'll bring it to you since most of the times he leaves it in his jeans, I go in the bathroom, take out the lighter and I GO TO THE LIVING ROOM AND NO ONE IS THERE.

I yell for my sis and tell her didn't we just talk to dad, she confirms, she looks at me like Im stupid or something, I tell her come to the living room to see for herself, and she is just as shocked as me, because it was literally 10 seconds when he said he forgot his lighter and the time I got up to check in his jeans which are in the bathroom, his freaking jeans and the lighter are in the bathroom but he is no where. We live in a small apartment so he couldn't have gone anywhere, I call him and ask are u fucking with me, he says what the hell i am even talking about and says that he is in the store looking for freshly roasted chicken because he doesn't feel like cooking. I explain to him what happened and he says that if we're trying to joke with him it's not even a good joke. I don't know what to think, I don't know if we both hallucinated or whatever the hell happened, he came home for the second time? and he was wearing training shorts, my sister literally started screaming and saying that this isn't possible, well she is right, it shouldn't be possible, he still doesnt believe us and thinks we are pranking him. My sister even called sick for work because she is still traumatized, as for me Im not exactly traumatised per se but Im confused and feel like Im disconnecting from reality.

Anyone had something similar happen to them? Wtf is this, this is the first weird thing that happened to me in my life, nothing similar has ever happened, nothing that would make me question reality.

Movies or TV shows that feel like a dying small town in the Deep South, decaying, lonely, bleak.

I have watched True Detective S1, The devil all the time. Looking something of that vibe. Something that feels hopeless and bleak, based in rural small towns in Louisiana, Mississippi etc.

I feel like I shouldn't have won this. Lulu, MF reroll vs 2 almost fully capped level 10s

I really don't know why I won this or how I won, I feel like I should've gone third here.

I think the MiY visited the town multiple times in this cycle

I'm pretty convinced that he was Katri the Priest. In the early episodes of the first season, Katri was urging Boyd to put Frank in the box so that he could die a rather horrible death. I get that Frank probably deserved it, or maybe not, but he was in an impossible town where most people would probably go insane and off themselves, or drink themselves to death or whatever.

Yet you have a priest, who should be against these things, actively urging the sheriff in town to subject a broken man to a horrible fate who just lost his entire family to something that shouldn't be possible. Idk it just seems way out of character for a priest, or for any sane and empathetic human being for that matter.

I think I know who the Man In Yellow is.

I think that the MiY, Tabitha and Jade are some kind of warlocks/witches/shamans whatever, they summoned the original entity to make the deal hundreds of years ago, and the MiY didn't opt out of the deal and did his part and was granted shapeshifting powers, immortality etc. and Tabitha and Jade opted out on the last second and didn't want to make the sacrifices because they thought they wouldn't sacrifice their child, or they sacrificed the other children but not their own, most likely the Boy In White is Jade and Tabitha's original child.

Then the entity punished them by making them reincarnate over and over again and end up in the same town until their child is sacrificed and the ritual completed, and the monsters and the MiY is there to make sure that happens. I think one last sacrifice is needed, either Jade's reincarnation child, or Tabitha's reincarnation child for the ritual to be fully completed.

Movies/TV Shows that feel like there is an unknown presence keeping people trapped?

I've watched From, Midnight Mass, Vivarium, Lost, The Prisoner, Dark, True Detective S1. Looking for same eerie atmosphere, where it's obvious something is lurking, but not quite being shown on screen.

Theory about the Man In Yellow and the monsters.

My theory is that the Man In Yellow was a human at first, maybe a man who was part of the original people who made the deal, or a dude who lived in that area way before, maybe he was a warlock, or someone who had knowledge of the supernatural and beings beyond humanity, and maybe he's the one who initially made contact with the entity, he lived up to his end of the bargain and received shapeshifting powers and immortality, and then he's the one who offered the deal for immortality to the original townsfolk, but they failed and are cursed to be these grotesque monsters until the bargain is completed.

Because if the original townsfolk were human at first, and now they're this outwordly evil creatures, it doesn't make sense to turn evil on their own after the bargain failed, I think they were cursed by "something" and their bodies were possesed by some other creatures or spirits or whatever, and the people that arrive in Fromville, all of them are actually the reincarnated souls of the original townsfolk, they just don't know it yet.

I think there is one main overarching antagonist who hasn't even been mentioned or shown yet, and the Man In Yellow is just an "ascended" man who keeps the monsters in check and makes sure that the reincarnated souls dont realize they are the original townsfolk.

What do you think?

Suggest TV shows like Carnivàle

I recently finished Carnivàle and oh my GOD it was one of the best series I've ever watched. I would want to find something similar to that, I love religious horror, but not the classic God vs Devil thing, something like Carnivale where good and evil are ambiguous.

About the main evil in the show.

I think there is only one entity in the show, something ancient and evil, a demon, a demigod, a lovecraftian monster, you name it. I think everything else, the hag, the killer clown, the boogeyman etc, or potentially other monsters that may show up are just conjurings or illusions created by the main evil to keep the people in check.

I think eventually it will be shown that whatever was being kept in that steel door is the evil trapped by some spell, and for now all it can do is conjure things.
