British Curriculum Applicants to UAEU – Any Updates?

Hi everyone,

I'm applying to UAEU and I'm from the British Curriculum. I'm still waiting for my final A-Level results, so I haven't received any official grades yet.

Has anyone from the British Curriculum been accepted or rejected by UAEU based on predicted grades? If yes, could you share your experience and whether your offer was conditional?

Also, are there any other British Curriculum applicants still waiting for their A-Level results? Have you received any updates from UAEU regarding your application?

I'd really appreciate it if you could share your experience. Thanks!

HP Victus 16 (RTX 3050 + i7-12700H) performs terribly. Looking for advice.

Hi everyone,

I have an HP Victus 16 with an RTX 3050 and an i7-12700H. I bought it about two years ago when I didn't know much about laptops.

A few months after buying it, it developed a manufacturing fault and the motherboard had to be replaced. Ever since then, the laptop has never really performed the way I expected.

At this point, I can barely play any games. Even Valorant, which isn't very demanding, has extreme input delay and stuttering, making it almost unplayable. More demanding games are completely out of the question.

The laptop is also in pretty rough physical condition now, but I'm mainly concerned about the performance.

Has anyone experienced something similar with the Victus series? What should I check to improve performance? Things like thermal throttling, BIOS settings, drivers, Windows settings, GPU power limits, or anything else?

Any troubleshooting steps or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

UAEU TOEFL ITP & Scholarship Questions

Hi everyone,

I'm applying to UAEU as a British Curriculum student and have a few questions:

- Does UAEU accept the digital TOEFL ITP, or does it have to be the paper-based version?

- Since my A Level results are released in mid-August, what's the last date to submit my final results and English proficiency score to remain eligible for the scholarship?

- For now, should I upload my predicted grades and an English proficiency letter until I receive my final results and TOEFL score?

- For those applying for a scholarship, did you still submit and sign the Financial Declaration Form? The form states that I would be liable for paying the full tuition fees, so I'm a bit confused about whether this still applies if I'm applying for a scholarship.

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has recently gone through the process.

Thanks!

Best FREE Resources for TOEFL ITP Preparation?

I'm preparing for the TOEFL ITP and I'm looking for the best free study resources.

I'd really appreciate recommendations for:

- Free books or PDFs (if they're legally available)

- Free practice tests that are similar to the actual exam

- YouTube channels with TOEFL ITP lessons

- Free websites for grammar, vocabulary, and listening practice

- Any other free resources that helped you score 590+

If you've taken the TOEFL ITP recently, which free resources were the most useful, and what would you recommend focusing on to achieve a high score?

Thanks! 😊

Need Advice: Is TOEFL iBT 105 Harder Than TOEFL ITP 590 or IELTS 7.5?

I'm trying to decide which English proficiency test would be the easiest option for me.

My target is either:

- TOEFL iBT: 105+

- TOEFL ITP: 590+

- IELTS: 7.5 overall

For those who have taken more than one of these exams or are familiar with them:

  1. Which score is generally easier to achieve?

  2. Which one is the most predictable or "guaranteed" if you prepare well?

  3. Is scoring 105 on the TOEFL iBT more difficult than getting 590 on the TOEFL ITP or a 7.5 on IELTS?

  4. How much preparation time did each test require for you?

I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have taken multiple tests or tutors who have experience with all three. Thanks!

UAEU Students – How difficult is it to maintain the 75% or 100% scholarship?

Hi everyone,

I'm considering applying to UAEU and I'm trying to understand how realistic it is to maintain the university scholarships.

From what I understand:

- 75% scholarship requires maintaining around a 3.6 GPA.

- 100% scholarship requires maintaining around a 3.8 GPA.

I'd love to hear from current students:

- How difficult is it to maintain a 3.6 or 3.8 GPA at UAEU?

- Do many students lose their scholarships after the first year?

- How much do you typically need to study each week to stay above those GPAs?

- Are professors generally fair with grading?

- Is maintaining these GPAs manageable if you're consistent, or is it extremely competitive?

For context, I'm deciding between Bachelor's in Accounting and Bachelor's in Finance and Banking.

- Which program is generally more challenging?

- Which one has a heavier workload?

- If you've studied either of these programs, what was your experience like?

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

UAEU Students – How are the dorms and transportation? Need honest opinions!

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to join United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and wanted to hear from current or former students about the dorms and transportation.

I have a few questions:

- What are the different types of dorms available (shared, single, etc.)?

- What are the rooms and facilities like (Wi-Fi, kitchens, laundry, study areas, gym)?

- How is the overall dorm experience? Is it comfortable and well-maintained?

- How does transportation work?

- Are buses available between the dorms and campus? How frequent are they?

- Is transportation provided for students traveling from other emirates (e.g., Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi)?

- Are there any rules, curfews, or things I should know before applying for accommodation?

I'd really appreciate any advice, experiences, or tips—both the good and the bad. Thanks in advance!

IELTS or TOEFL iBT: Which one is better?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to decide whether to take the IELTS Academic or the TOEFL iBT for university admissions, and I'd love to hear from people who have taken either (or both).

- Which test did you find easier overall?

- Which one is better for university applications?

- Is one generally easier to get a higher score in?

- How do the speaking, listening, reading, and writing sections compare?

- If you've taken both, which would you recommend and why?

I'd really appreciate any advice, tips, or personal experiences. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,

I am applying to United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and want to qualify for a scholarship. I need to take an English proficiency test and am deciding between IELTS Academic and TOEFL iBT.

Which exam do you think is easier to score well in? Has anyone applied to UAEU using TOEFL iBT or IELTS? Are there any advantages of choosing one over the other, especially for scholarship eligibility?

Looking for universities with generous scholarships for international students

Hi everyone,

I'm currently looking at universities that offer good scholarships for international students, especially merit-based or fully funded opportunities.

So far I've come across places like Qatar University, but I'd love to hear about other universities in the Middle East or abroad that provide generous financial aid.

I'm mainly interested in pursuing a Bachelor's in Accounting, but recommendations for universities with strong business schools are also welcome.

If you've received a scholarship yourself or know of universities with high acceptance rates for international students and good funding, I'd really appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Anyone successfully gotten an IELTS exemption at UAEU using IGCSE ESL (Grade A)? Need a direct contact / advice.

Hey everyone,

I’m looking into applying to UAEU and I’m trying to figure out if I can get an exemption for the IELTS / English proficiency requirement. I did IGCSE English as a Second Language (ESL) and got an A, so I'm hoping that's enough to skip the standard test.

Has anyone here actually managed to get a waiver or exemption with their IGCSE English grades at UAEU? If so, what was the process like?

Also, I tried contacting the university directly to ask about this, but the support staff I spoke to didn't really seem to understand what I was asking or how the IGCSE grading/curriculum works for exemptions. If anyone has a specific email, extension number, or department contact (like a specific desk in admissions or registration) that actually handles international curricula or high school waivers, it would be an absolute lifesaver if you could share it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

UAEU vs. ADU: Which one is better for Accounting? Also, application updates?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently narrowing down my options for university here in the UAE and I’m stuck between United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and Abu Dhabi University (ADU).

I’d love to hear from current students or alumni about your experiences. I’m specifically looking for insights on:

Campus Life/Environment: I know UAEU is in Al Ain and has that "traditional/national" university vibe, while ADU is a bit more fast-paced. How does the day-to-day feel at each?

Reputation & Networking: Which one do you feel holds more weight with employers in the region?

Quality of Education: Any thoughts on the faculty or the practical side of the courses at either school?

Overall Experience: If you had to choose again, would you pick the same university?

Also, I’m trying to plan ahead for my application—does anyone have any inside info or updates on when the application portal for UAEU usually opens for the upcoming cycle? I know it can be a bit tricky to track, and I want to make sure I don't miss the window.

Any advice or personal anecdotes would be super appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Anyone got an IELTS exemption at UAEU with an IGCSE English grade?

Hey everyone,

I’m applying to UAE University (UAEU) and trying to find out if they accept IGCSE grades to waive the English requirement.

I got an A in IGCSE ESL, and I just graduated from a school where English was the entire medium of instruction.

Whenever I ask admissions, they just link me to their website and nobody will give me a straight answer. Has anyone in a similar position actually managed to get an IELTS exemption here, or do they strictly force you to take IELTS/EmSAT anyway?

Would love to know if anyone has gone through this. Thanks!

ADU (Abu Dhabi University)

Hey everyone, I'm currently looking into my uni options and considering Abu Dhabi University for a Bachelor's in Accounting. I'd love to get some honest, real-world feedback from anyone who goes there or recently graduated. How is the campus vibe, the student life, and the quality of the professors overall? If anyone is specifically in the business or accounting program, I'd love to know if you feel it's worth it and how the job prospects or internship opportunities look. Let me know your honest pros and cons, or if you think there are better options in the UAE for accounting. Thanks!

Also , on the website their fees was 150k sum but whne i went it was 189k someone else also told me that they add up alot of stuff , can anyone lemme know
