Do you think there are too many people who love digital and love to stay in bed?

I’ve noticed a common response to people loving digital is because they love to stay in bed. Whether it’s playing or downloading the simple thought of not standing up to put in a disc or not having to go to the store and being able to stay in bed or on the couch is so important to them.

I have always and still love going out to go do something. I love stretching out for a minute and opening up a case to open up the disc. I understand convenience. And maybe some people get anxiety going out. And maybe some people have the excuse of being too busy.

But we’ve been at this point now where people in society view getting out of their bed or getting off their couch is an extraordinary inconvenience for them. I think this has gone a bit too far.

So they’ll pay more for digital. I love to go out. You don’t wanna go out, fine. But not willing to get out of bed at all to play games? I cannot even believe people say this.

How does getting rid of discs make the company more money?

I’m just curious. Let’s not turn this into something heated. So Sony says that 90 percent of all sales are digital. Well if that’s the case, then physical sales don’t really affect them. They are already making their profits because almost everyone is buying digital.

Sure they might save some money on manufacturing costs but that’s still small money that they are leaving on the table because certain games do sell well physical and collectors would be willing to pay even more for select titles. Money is money, just like their vinyl record players.

I can see how if all the collectors switched to digital it would increase the profit margin, but the collectors who spend a lot of money physically are not willing to switch over. And the other gamers who buy used games will not switch over because they cannot afford digital retail price anyways. Sony doesn’t make money off the used market, but they’ll never make sales off those people to begin with.

They don’t want to split the sales with retail but by having the code in the box, they are still giving them a cut. So something just doesn’t add up.

So it has to be something more than just trying to increase their profits. Maybe it’s because cloud gaming is their ultimate goal?

Why only 17 million PS5 digital consoles sold?

Just wondering why more digital Ps5s are not sold. Remember nobody buys physical games or disc based consoles anymore. But how will PS6 hit more than 40 million consoles sold at a higher price when they struggle to sell 20 million digital consoles? Also take into account that there’s less physical disc consoles now and it’s still not helping the digital sell more.

Any advice for PC Engine issues?

Hello. I purchased a PC Engine Duo RX some time ago. I mostly collect the repro games and just a couple originals. It worked decently well, but there were 1 or 2 games that had issues loading. Eventually one of my original copies, Kaidan 00 stopped working as well. So i sent my console to a guy that repairs PC Engines. He gave it a clean bill of health overall, but made a couple adjustments, making the spring tighter.

Once I received it, my original game Kaidan 00 started working fine again. However, a handful of my repro game that used to work were no longer loading. It's frustrating.

Someone recommended an Analogue Duo. The only issue is I feel it might not be as authentic? Would need adjustments to play on a CRT and then maybe no Everdrive support.

Let me know if you experienced the same issue. Thanks.

Question about PC Engine/Turbo Everdrive

Hello. I have had a PC Engine Duo RX for a while. It's got a bad laser so I'm trying to look for some back up alternatives. I am interested in the EVERDRIVE but wanted to ask you if it was better to have the Turbo Grafx Duo or the PC Engine DUO for the Everdrive? Keep in mind it's very important for me to be able to run both the games for the Hucard and the CD Roms/ Arcade CDs.

Also, I game on the CRT television for retro games, not the HDTVs. Or can you just buy a regular TURBO Grafx and play all games on the Everdrive?
