The Most Anxiety Inducing Tame

For me it's this godamn turtle.

First you guide the parrot fish to it (which is usuallu a mess by itself)

Then you gotta guard the turtle from 0.5x coelacanths, sniping them as they swarm the megachelon or they eat the parrot fishes.

And worst of all; it's not even that useful.

Just did it so I could say I caught them all'

Megaraptor is the easiest new tame

All you have to do is walk backwards around its totem and immediately smack it as soon as you hear it groan;

the direction you swing doesn't matter, if you walk like in the video you'll always hit it.

Not complaining about it, this was a breath of fresh air since Dreadnoughtus.

Do you guys actually enjoy breeding/farming for mutations?

I understand it must be feel very rewarding after so many breeding attempts when you get a colour/stat that you like... and it's especially hardwork in multiplayer rates...

But myself, I simply don't have the patience to breed 1000+ baby rexes/theris just to get the proper stat/colour.

I use a mod called "Easy Mutations", which is a potion that guarantees at least one mutation per offpsring. Still takes a a while to get the stats you want, but not as much as in a normal rate server.

Anyone else feel the same?

Hibernation in Single Player

When you guys play single player, do you disable or enable hibernation?

Does it affect performance? Cause I like the idea of the whole map/creatures/spawns being rendered fully even when I'm far from them.

Not to mention creatures despawning in singleplayer when you get too far from them.

What are some pros/cons of disabling hibernation in Single Player?

Challenges for making gameplay more different and fun

I've played so much ark and it's always been the same; tame creatures, breed them, get artifacts, kill boss

What are some challenges or self imposed rules that can make gameplay more different and interesting?

Example: taming creatures in the order that their saddles unlock

Another example i liked is the old kibble system. You basically had an order and sequence for which to tame creatures.

For example, you needed dodo kibble to tame pteras, pulmonoscorpius kibble to tame rex, etc.

Weird mods showing in my installed list

Why are some random mods that i never installed showing in my "installed mods" tab?

From the picture, anything after custom dino levels, I never installed. I play solo. And none of these clandestine mods appear on the "mod settings" of single player config

(Sorry for shitty screenshot)

Gabriel meets Muhammad in the cave

"Gabriel appears before him and commands him to "Read!" He responded, "I cannot read!". Then the angel Gabriel caught him tightly (forcefully) and pressed him so hard that he could not bear it anymore (this happens two more times)."

Hijabi Subreddit

So I took a trip to r/hijabi, already expecting to see people defending and praising the hijab, and what-not.

I was surprised to see that most of the posts in the front page are actually more... bittersweet, if you get what I mean.

A good lot of them are about girls questioning hijab, its necessity, wanting to take it off, envying their non hijabi friends, saying they got harassed even with the hijab on, and so many other examples.

Don't get me wrong, it's sad for these girls. But it shows how many people are actually questioning their religion nowadays.

It does suck that when a girl posts about wanting to take it off, there's always replies like "do it for allah", "deen over dunya", etc.

I'm itching to comment myself and just reply "psst... check out r/exmuslim "... but I'm sure I'd be banned for it.

Wife's boyfriend is a Beatles fan

So recently I found out my wife's second boyfriend is a beatles fan. He constantly takes down my Beach Boys posters and walks shirtless around the house while blasting Sgt. Peppers.

He gifted me a copy of Pet Sounds Deluxe edition when he and my wife travelled abroad (for work) for a month, but he doesn't let me play it anymore. He calls me a "beachy" and laughs it off, playing Beatles For Sale instead.

I'm too afraid to stand up to him as he is 6'0 and i'm 5'15", and I just don't think this is the right environment to raise the kids (they're not my biological kids, but anyways).

Is this a common thing for all Beach Boys fans?

Visiting my girlfriend in Izmir (lesbian)

Hello! I'm Brazilian (26F) and my girlfriend recently moved to Izmir (she's Iranian, non-religious)

I'm going to visit her next week and wanted to know how accepting Izmir in particular is of LGBT folks.

We're obviously not gonna walk around naked, I mean things like holding hands, kissing, etc. Do's and don'ts. She says Izmir is quite modern, but I would like to ask Turks themselves.

Thanks!

Iranian government spent millions to convert Japanese to Shia Islam and only one person converted and he wasn't even Japanese

DISCLAIMER: I think the context here is cut, as he is definitely exaggerating the value spent.

But the IRGC is known for sending Shia folks proletyzing in African/Middle Eastern Sunni muslim countries to gather supporters for their failing regime.

Hate on Polytheism

Islam says polytheism and idols, aka "shirk" is one of the worst sins. Quran has plenty of verses calling polytheists the worst of people

There are 1.2 billion Hindus

400 million Buddhists

90 million Shinto

How can you live thinking almost 2 billion people are destined for hellfire? And lots of Muslims are smug about that, thinking they're degenerates who deserve it.

How can you relish on the thought of someone suffering just because they worship more than one God? How sick must you be?

Iranian Ex-Muslim Author Marjane Satrapi Dies at 56

Iranian author Marjane Satrapi passed at 56, reportedly from "sadness".

If you don't know, this lady wrote "Persepolis", a visual novel which depicts her upbringing in Iran during the Islamic Revolution and the rise of the mullah's regime.

Personally, that book was the reason I discovered about the whole Iranian situation and how they treated non-muslims and women there. I think it's great my school had her book as part of the curriculum.

I can't recommend it enough.

RIP

I don't understand modern theology

I don't want to sound ignorant, but as someone with a secular background, growing around non-religious people, I never understood the point of theology or any type of religious studies in general.

The whole concept is centered on discussing the teachings of books and scriptures (Bible, Quran) that are pretty much, in my eyes, mythology and historical tales.

To me, theology feels like people debating a big "nothing". Why would people want to make this a central point of their lives when they could study real, concrete subjects, such as maths, history, biology.

I do think theology was important in the past, as it laid many themes for philosophy and the foundations of western civilization.

But right now? We have way bigger fish to fry
