TLDR: Received rifle case with damaged latch, lanbos immediately shipped out a new one.

So the second rifle case they sent also came broken, this time, the case itself was cracked.

It's pretty obvious it is Fedex mishandling the package, as it's 52" long cardboard box, unwieldy and doesn't have handles. You essentially have to bear hug it to move it around.

Texted lanbo's, at this point they've already sent two cases for the price of one and honestly didn't know how much more they could help me.

I mentioned that I bought the case for a flight and regret the purchase, if the case can't handle shipping, how could it handle being chucked around by airport staff?

Here's their response:

"I am very sorry about all this \[unrelated info removed\]. I will get a full refund issued right away. You shouldn't have to go out of your way to do so, but is it possible to remove the latch from this broken one and place it on the old one to at least get you through your trip?

We have only sold 9 of this exact case, but we have sold thousands of Plano products and this is only the second time we have ever had an issue reported."

So here's the deal with drop ship companies. They build a site, set a margin and start advertising.

Some of these companies essentially become marketing companies....

You can tell by the minimalist website that Lanbo's Armory isn't a marketing company, but is instead a customer service company.

10/10

Why would anyone buy from anyone else?

Another 2000's "relic" - OG Aero Precision

Back then there were only a handful of companies machining lowers.

You couldn't buy just stripped lowers from a lot of manufacturers like Colt, etc.

I sold a shit ton of Aero Precision lowers when they first entered the market (managed a gun store back then) on the fact that "these guys are a precision machine shop that supplies parts to Boeing, etc. that decided to apply that expertise into these lowers!".

Which is amusing because turns out they were the OEM for Palmetto State Armory back then too. PSA didn't have a great dealer program so the Aero's were cheaper at my store.

Wish I had kept more of these....and all of the Mega Machine billet receivers set I had.

Another relic from 2009

Noveske made these ejection port doors and they were soooo funny and cool 😂.

It wasn't a political statement in the 2000's it was just a quote from Team America World Police: https://youtu.be/2bN62MmT-lw?is=aoSCYMxiIYcxCa4d

Viral videos/memes were barely a thing, so we were stuck with quotes from things like Napoleon Dynamite, Borat and Budweiser commercials.

I think Tactical Innovations made one of the first/more accessible billet lowers.

Any other millennials/gen x'ers have some pics of their builds from back in the day?

*Edit: you guys are hilarious

I've always been happy with lanbo's, almost always the best prices by a mile, $10 fixed shipping and I get my orders just as fast as my Amazon orders. (Perk of living in Texas, but unfortunately I have to pay sales tax).

I bought a giant 52" hard rifle case from them which arrived in quite a thin box. One of the latches was broken.

I was immediately concerned about replacement/exchange/having to pay to ship back on my own dime for some thing so large.

Their website stated a "3 day" refund/exchange for damaged goods after date of delivery. I sent an email the day after I received it. Didn't get a response for two days. Kind of thought "damn, that's the drawback of getting such good deals from a dropship operation ".

Went back on the website and found a number that said to text. I received a reply text in 8 minutes with an apology about email being backed up.

After just a bit of back and forth, lanbos is sending me out a new case.

Big ups for lanbos....and if you don't have to pay sales tax from your state, I don't know why you'd buy from anywhere else tbh.

*I've been in the firearms industry for 20yrs, I am currently a gunsmith and have ordered hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of 2a stuff in the last 5 years, so I can tell you with experience that Lanbo's totally fucks.

My setup circa 2009 😂

Guess I was ahead of the curve on high mounted optics.

There's an OG Olight in the pouch in front of the pistol (they literally only sold one light).

STI 9mm 1911....back then 2011's were only for competition shooters.

Kydex was brand new back then, I think I zip tied everything to the molle.

A Build of mine from 2009

😂 😂😂. Was looking through a folder of pics saved from Photobucket before they shut down.

There weren't a lot of options back then, but I was accessorymaxxing.

I guess I was ahead of the curve with the 12 o'clock dot.

This thing probably weighed 15lbs. I was part of the "get stronger" crew.

*Pistol is a hard chrome baby desert eagle AKA Jericho

*If y'all are interested I can look through that folder for more pics of old builds later

Offroad bike capable of handling this terrain?

Is there a bike on the market that's more suited to this terrain over others?

Should I be looking at 16" or 20" tires?

How accurate do you think the slope ratings are for these online listings?

I'm not going to be using it that often, so I'm trying to keep budget low. Do you think the $600-$800 options on Amazon/temu/AliExpress are good enough or do I need to be looking at the more expensive/established $1000+ brands!

Hog hunting 2026 vs 1894

Dad's 94, he passed before we got a chance to hunt together. Figured I'd put some down with his gun while I'm out here.

Bidding based on one picture.

I'm swamped enough to not be able to make it out to check this out in person.

This guy wants to know at least a range of repair costs.

I'm seeing quite a bit here and am guessing that I'm also repairing some framing and spending some time drying/mold remediation.

When I mentioned this is a 4 figure job, they replied "that seems kind of high from what I see online".

I can't imagine this is anything less than $1500 after opening up the wall.

What are y'all's thoughts?
